Dreams
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
Langston Hughes

I Dreamed In A Dream
I dreamed in a dream
I saw a city invincible to the attacks of the
whole of the rest of the earth,
I dreamed that was the new city of Friends,
Nothing was greater there
than the quality of robust love, it led the rest,
It was seen every hour in the actions of the men of that
city,
And in all their looks and words.

A Dream Within A DreamTake this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream. I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!
O God! Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! Can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

Edgar Allan Poe
Dream Variation
To fling my arms wide
In some place of the sun,
To whirl and to dance
Till the white day is done.
Then rest at cool evening
Beneath a tall tree
While night comes on gently,
Dark like me–
That is my dream!
To fling my arms wide
In the face of the sun,
7
Dance! Whirl! Whirl!
Till the quick day is done.
Rest at pale evening . . .
A tall, slim tree . . .
Night coming tenderly
Black like me. Langston Hughes

The Dream Keeper
Bring me all of your dreams,
you dreamer;
bring me all your
Heart melodies
that I may wrap them
in a blue cloud-cloth
Away from the too-rough fingers
of the world.
Langston Hughes

A Dream
In visions of the dark night
I have dreamed of joy departed-
But a waking dream of life and light
Hath left me broken-hearted.
Ah! What is not a dream by day
To him whose eyes are cast
On things around him with a ray
Turned back upon the past?
That holy dream- that holy dream,
While all the world were chiding,
Hath cheered me as a lovely beam
A lonely spirit guiding.
What though that light, thro' storm and night,
So trembled from afar-
What could there be more purely bright?
In Truth's daystar?

First Dream
Sleep baby
What you see
In your dreams...
I see millions of cheerful balloons
Flying in the sky...
Lifting me out of my bed
Putting me into 100 years old dads’
puppy love.

Dreams
I run in the night,
I jump on the stars,
I am in a dream,
That I have never seen.
I fly through the sky,
I see all kinds of butterflies,
The harp plays the sounds,
While I lay on the snow white clouds.
The clouds fade away,
I realize I have to go away,
Because I have to wake up,
12
A Bear Dream
I dreamt of being a bear
I am lightening on my feet,
I cannot take a seat.
I am hungry like a bear but,
I am rotten in my teeth,
I brush my white little bones,
And hope they make me eat,
Because I am craving for meat,
After opening my mouth,
Everybody starts to scream,
And then I wake,
Out of a dream.

Rhyming Dream
I dreamed of a God
I wished for a dog
I went for a jog
Then I sat on a log
I played football
I saw a mole
15
Digging under my goal
I want to see my soul
I see green leaves
My mom said I have to pull up my sleeves
I saw a white sheep
Now I have to leave...

Angel
I dreamed of an angel,
16
It's like a wingless flower,
It was flying with its snow white wings
While it sings
It had very beautiful ring
It was the Gods present for me
To dream of an angel so beautiful
Now i have to wake up and go to school
And to begin another beautiful day
Instead of staying in my bed and lay...

Floating Away
While I lay in bed and float asleep,
There are worlds so great and mighty,
One is never sure ether they are good or bad,
They are untraveled roads ahead,
Nothing is real but seems so right,
Sometimes I wake up sweating with a fright,
A dream can be a paradise not to forget,
But also a bubble that burst in my bed.
