Phrasal verbs consist of a verb and another word or phrase, usually a preposition (to this other part is called particle). the resulting combination creates a new verb, whose meaning can be intriguing for non-native English speakers. Phrasal verbs often arise from casual use of language and eventually become mass use. Phrasal verbs can be either transitive and intransitive.
