I. Operations
Based on consultants recommendations, review and implement the action
plan for the future of the Student Centre and Student Association.
Investigate future service options for students at the new and expanding
downtown campus (e.g. Downtown SA office, Tuck Shop, etc.). Formally review the executive structure of the Student Association,
including all executive positions, to ensure that we support our rapidly-
growing organization.
Develop formal structures for all of the Student Associations committees;
ensuring each committee has valid terms of reference (Programming
Committee, Clubs Committee, Students for Equal Access, Sustainability
Committee, LGBTQ Advisory Committee).
Facilitate a budget retreat process that receives input and final assent
from the Board of Directors for the first time in SA history.
Ensure all detailed executive reports in addition to minutes are posted
online to increase transparency
Work with both schools to review fee protocol.

II. Academics
With college students now represented by the provincial lobby
group College Student Alliance (CSA), work to ensure university
students are represented too (e.g. Ontario Undergraduate Student
Alliance).
At the next calendar review by Academic Council, lobby for study/review period between the end of lectures and the beginning of
exams to maximize student success. Work with UOIT's Provost Academic and Durham College's VP
Academic to look at how we can integrate the Student Association's
elected institutional VPs (VP University Affairs and VP College
Affairs) into institutional committees and councils. Strengthen our newly created Faculty and School Councils, giving
them the autonomy to levy their own fees like at other post-
secondary institutions. Develop a fee policy to govern this process.

III. Student Experience
Mentor the incoming VP Campus Life to build on last-year's successful event
line-up (e.g. Campusfest & Winterfest). Encourage a events that have high returns on investment.
Oversee smooth transition of the Womens Centre and LGBTQ office to the newStudent Services Building.
Ensure a successful completion of the SAs new basement library study space. Support Graduate Students by facilitating discussions with the university to
ensure they support grad students with an orientation week, just like they do
for undergrads. Engage alumni in all activities, especially large-scale events. With Chartwells contract ending soon, work with the university and college
administration to ensure the student voice is heard at all steps of the review
process.

IV. External Relations
Lobby regional transit to create a regular periodic direct route that goes
directly from campus to the GO Train and VIA Rail Oshawa Terminal. Liaise with provincial lobby groups to ensure maximum accessibility
and affordability of post-secondary education. Develop working relationship with municipal officials to ensure that
student concerns are being heard. Work with City Council, university/college officials, and outside
investors to ensure safe, accessible, and affordable off-campus housing
continues to be built near campus. Work with the university on laptop issues (e.g. insurance, buy-out). Working with the new housing office, have the SA develop resources to
educate students on housing issues and tenant rights
