Our mud pumps are designed with a Separate discharge and suction strong emphasis on serviceability and modules simplify field maintenance. low cost of ownership. (Figure 2).

The herringbone gear is argon-oxygen ion-plasma treated to maxi-mize durability.

Valve size is compatible to API spec 7K.

Typically, after 10–12 years of opera-tion one side of the herringbone gear and shaft will wear. To increase life-span, these components can be reversed and reused.

The shaft design is optimised to save material and maintenance costs. This is achieved by dividing the shaft into two pieces as shown in figure 1.

All UMZ crank shafts (see figure 4) are manufactured and assembled from forged steel to the highest pre-cision. In contrast, our main competi-tors manufacture their crank shafts from cast steel (see figure 3). The main disadvantages with cast steel are the inconsistencies in the mate-rial and the relatively high cost of ownership as shafts are irreplace-able.
