Book on China in Indian Ocean Region Released

Former governor of Sikkim V Rama Rao released a book, titled ‘China in Indian Ocean Region’, at theOsmania University campus here on Thursday.
Rama Rao said, “China is irritating its neighbours. It is trying to have control over the Indian Ocean region toboost its trade. It causes inconvenience to us.” To improve trade relationship between both countries, Nathu La,an ancient trade route which was part of the Silk Road, was reopened on July 6, 2006. Nathu La is a passthrough the Himalayas and it was closed 44 years prior to 2006 when the IndiaChina war broke out in 1962.The initial agreement for reopening of the trade route was reached in 2003 and a final agreement wasformalised on June 18, 2006. Officials said that the reopening of border trade would help ease the economicisolation of the region.
“Relationship between both the countries will improve and issues will be resolved. Together, India and Chinashould try to build a better world,” he added.
NALSAR University of Law professor PV Rao, UGC Centre for Indian Ocean Studies director R.Sidda Goudand others participated.

When we are weak we fear everything around us, big and small, just as a baby does, including ourown shadows. Only when we as a nation build our economic sinews first and military muscle next willwe truly and really become a formidable power which will fear nothing on land, water, air and space.Patriotism is the foundation stone of nationhood and it can only be sustained and developed in acongenial economic environment of Welfare State with Mixed Economy. The basic human craving forequality is satisfied in the Welfare State Model which creates a middle class society and a mixedEconomy allows Freedom for capitalism.
