 &fter a few months of deelopment by a small group, many deelopers at Twitter began to contribute

to the pro+ect as a part of Hac$ 8ee$, a hac$athon-style wee$ for the Twitter9s deelopment team. It

was renamed from Twitter #lueprint to #ootstrap, and released as an open source pro+ect on &ugust

):, '())./40 It has continued to be maintained by Mar$ 1tto, !acob Thornton, and a small group of

core deelopers, as well as a large community of contributors./*0

1n !anuary ), '()', #ootstrap ' was announced. This release added the twele-column grid

layout and responsie design components, as well as changes to many of the e"isting components.

and using a flat design./;0
