With sun-oil burnished bronze bodies dancing for Baal or Dionysius, the ancients used to express their joy of life as reanimated in earth, in this “Gio-spiritual” spot, at this time of every year. And now, with what has remained of the gush of life, we, the survivors, though not salvaged completely, express with dancing, our joy for what the occupation could not take possession of our soul phoenix feather, while flapping its wings in its new flight. With dancing, as well, we are joined by friends we deeply appreciate for their coming from all around the world in response to our invitation; at the time the Zionist propaganda aims at concealing our cultural and civilized aspect, to justify its daily committed crimes against us, and to make our self-defense a manifestation of violence and terrorism.

روَن عن غبطِتهم بالحياة، وهي ُتبَعُث في األرِض من جديد. واآلن، وبما ُيَعبِّر نحن الناجون، وإن لم ننُج تمامًا، بالرقص عن تبّقى من دفقة الحياة، ُنعبِّ

غبطتنا بما لم َيَنْل االحتالُل من ريِش عنقاِء روحِنا، وهي تخفُق في الطيراِن ُن تلبيَتهم دعوَتَنا، الجديد. وبالرقِص أيضًا يشارُكنا من العالِم أصدقاء نثمِّ

في هذا العام نحتفل بمرور 30 عامًا على إعادة تأسيس فرقة سرية رام الله األولى للرقص، ومرور 10 سنوات على تأسيس مدرسة الرقص، ونحتفل أيضًا بمرور 10 سنوات على مهرجان

رام الله للرقص المعاصر.نفتخر بما حققناه من انجازات خاصة وأننا استطعنا وضع الرقص المعاصر على خارطة

الفنون األدائية في فلسطين، وساهمنا ببناء مجتمع للرقص المعاصر، وعلمنا ما ال يقل عن 1000 طالب وطالبة الدبكة والباليه والرقص المعاصر، وأنتجنا 17 عرضًا راقصًا ما بين

الفولكلوري والمعاصر منهم ستة انتاجات مشتركة.

في األوقات الصعبة لن نكتب سوى عن األمل واإليمان بالمستقبل وستبقى أشعار ناظم حكمت، ومحمود درويش، وحسين جميل

البرغوثي موجهًا لعملنا.

على مدار 10 سنوات استضاف مهرجان رام الله للرقص المعاصر 168 فرقة وفنانًا من 36 دولة قدموا عروضهم في القدس، ورام الله، والبيرة، وبيت لحم، والخليل، والناصرة، وحيفا.

وساهمنا بتطوير قدرات الراقصين الفلسطينيين من خالل ورش عمل في الرقص، والتصوير، والنقد، وأنتجنا أفالم رقص، واحتفلنا بيوم الرقص العالمي، وفتحنا باب الحوار حول مواضيع تهم فرق الرقص الفلسطينية من خالل مؤتمر الرقص والمجتمع، وقمنا

بدمج األشخاص ذوي اإلعاقة في المجتمع عبر الرقص، وقمنا ببناء شراكات مع 32 مؤسسة رقص محلية وعربية وأجنبية، وقمنا بانتاج 6 أعمال مشتركة مع فرق عربية وأجنبية.

واجهنا العديد من التحديات والصعوبات السياسية واإلجتماعية واإلقتصادية ولم نيأس إليماننا العميق بما نقوم به وفق رؤية ورسالة سرية رام الله األولى.

ايماننا بالمستقبل هو ما يدفعنا للعمل ..فقد أصبحت كلمة الرقص المعاصر متداولة لدى األطفال.

ولم تعد لغة الجسد مجرد لغة استعراضية بل أصبحت لغة تساهم في التغيير الفكري واإلجتماعي والسياسي.

وانطلق الراقصون والراقصات الفلسطينيين نحو العالمية وأصبح الرقص مهنتهم.ولم تشكل الحركة عائقًا أمام األشخاص ذوي اإلعاقة فتحررت أجسادهم على المسرح.

لم يكن لنا أن نحقق كل ما أنجزناه لوال ايمان شركاؤنا من أفراد، ومؤسسات محلية وعربية وأجنبية. فلهم منا كل الحب والتقدير.

ولراقصي وراقصات سرية رام الله األولى الذين ضربوا األرض بأقدامهم، ولمعلمي ومعلمات مدرسة الرقص، وللجنة المهرجان والمتطوعات والمتطوعين لكم منا كل المحبة

واإلحترام.

Training over 1000 students in dabke, ballet and contemporary dance, producing over 17 folklore and contemporary dance forms including 6 collaborations are all achievements that make us feel more determined and steadfast in materializing our vision.Over the past 10 years, RCDF has hosted 168 companies and artists from 36 countries around the world. Performances were delivered in Jerusalem, Ramallah, Al Bireh, Bethlehem, Hebron, Nazareth and Haifa. We set the space for Palestinian dancers to develop their skills and tweak their talents through workshops in dance, photography and critique. While celebrating World Dance Day with our traditional dabke, we offered the space for dialogue between Palestinian dancers and artists over dance genres and their roles in the community through the Dance and Community Conference. Dance films were produced during the festival programs and activities and inclusion of all our community’s groups was emphasized. We build partnerships with 32 local, regional and international dance company and we collaborated with regional and international companies a total of 6 dance productions.We faced many challenges on both the social, financial and political levels but we remained true to our beliefs and vision at Sareyyet Ramallah.Our faith in the future is our main motivation for work.Dance has no longer become a taboo term, but rather used commonly amongst childrenBody movement has become more than just a performing art. It has formed into a local language that has become an essential catalyst for social, political and cognitive change.Palestinian dancers have made a career out of dance on the international scene.Physical challenges no longer hindered free bodies from dance and perform in public.We could not have journeyed this far without our partners support. Local, regional and international organizations have believed in our work, and for this we extend our heartfelt gratitude. To the Sareyyet Ramallah dancers whose feet have helped the world go round, to our dance school teachers who have assisted the small bodies of energy to create and to the festival committee, staff and volunteers without which this festival would not have come to life....

This year, we celebrate 30 years of the re-establishing of the Sareyyet Ramallah Dance Company, the 10 year anniversary for the Sareyyet Ramallah Dance School and the 10 year anniversary for the Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival.We are proud of these accomplishments, especially putting contemporary dance on Palestine’s performing arts scene as together we created a community around contemporary dance.

During hardships, we will only write about our hope and faith in things to come. The poetry of Nazem Hikmat, Mahmoud Darwish and Hussein Jamil Al- Bargouthi will be our guiding compass.Our most beautiful days: we haven’t seen yet.

Ramallah ContemporaryDance Festival (RCDF)

Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival is annually organized by Sareyyet Ramallah. It is an artistic festival specialized in contemporary dance, and was first held in 2006. In 2007, the Masahat Contemporary Dance Network, which in addition to Sareyyet Ramallah includes Maqamat Dance Theater – Lebanon, Tanween Dance Theatre – Syria, The National Center for Culture and Performing Arts – Jordan, was established. Since 2007, contemporary dance festivals are jointly organized by these organizations.

The Festival aims at promoting dialogue and cultural exchange between the Palestinian people and the people of the world. It also aims to introduce a variety of contemporary dance styles to the Palestinian people and to develop the capabilities of those who work in the dance field in Palestine. The Festival targets the Palestinian public in general and the youth sector in particular.

Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival was awarded the Qattan Distinction Award for Distinguished Cultural Work for the Year 2008.

مهرجان رام الله للرقص المعاصر تنظمه سرية رام الله األولى بشكل سنوي، وهو مهرجان فني متخصص في مجال الرقص المعاصر، وقد تم عقد الدورة األولى للمهرجان في العام 2006. وفي العام 2007، تم تأسيس شبكة مساحات

للرقص المعاصر التي تضم في عضويتها، إضافة إلى سرية رام الله األولى، كاًل من مسرح مقامات للرقص المعاصر – لبنان، وتجّمع تنوين للرقص

المسرحي – سوريا، والمركز الوطني للثقافة والفنون األدائية – األردن، ومنذ العام 2007 يتم تنظيم مهرجانات الرقص المعاصر بشكل مشترك.

يهدف المهرجان إلى تعزيز لغة الحوار والتبادل الثقافي بين الشعب الفلسطيني وشعوب العالم، وتعريف الجمهور الفلسطيني بأشكال

متنوعة من الرقص المعاصر، وتطوير قدرات العاملين في مجال الرقص في فلسطين. ويستهدف المهرجان الجمهور الفلسطيني بشكل عام، وقطاع الشباب بشكل خاص. وقد حاز مهرجان رام الله للرقص المعاصر على جائزة

القطان التقديرية للعمل الثقافي المميز للعام 2008.

Masahat Dance NetworkFounded in 2006, MASAHAT (Landscapes) dance networks concerned with developing strong relationships between individual artists, dance associations and companies. The network focuses on the exchange and development of collaborative projects between artists from different cultural, social and artistic backgrounds.

MASAHAT’s objectives are to broaden the space for the exchange of ideas and experiences, and to develop a new perspective of artistic creation not limited to the borders of a country or the anthem of a nation. Our aim is to unite artists in celebrating their present human condition as a diverse group. We do our best to visualize the body from an uncommon gaze and use it as an expressive and, perhaps, revolutionary tool. Focusing on contemporary perceptions of the ‘body’, MASAHAT itself could be considered a new body that aims at building capacities, developing public awareness, encouraging diversity and promoting social themes through the organization of artistic events.

In continuing with the collaborative efforts of previous years, BIPOD (Beirut International Platform of Dance), RCDF (Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival), and ACDF (Amman Contemporary Dance Festival) have again united in making distances closer and experiences bigger.

تأسست شبكة مساحات جّراء لقاء كل من فرقة مقامات للمسرح الراقص/لبنان وسرية رام الله/فلسطين العام 200، ثم انضم إليهما كل من المركز الوطني للثقافة والفنون/األردن، وتجمع تنوين

للرقص المسرحي/سورية العام 2008.

اتفقت هذه الجهات على إنشاء شبكة تعاونية للنشاطات الثقافية ألجل خلق مساحة للحوار والتواصل من خالل إطار عملها الفني المتمّثل في الرقص المسرحي المعاصر.

تهتّم شبكة مساحات بتطوير الروابط الفنية والثقافية بين الفرق والراقصين المعاصرين. كما ترّكز على تطوير األعمال الفنية المشتركة وتبادلها، ويشارك في هذه األعمال فنانون ذوو خلفّيات

ثقافية واجتماعية وفنية مختلفة.

تهدف هذه الشبكة إلى خلق مساحة جديدة لتبادل األفكار والخبرات، ولتطوير مفهوم اإلبداع الفني، كما تهدف إلى جمع الراقصين المعاصرين، وتعمل جاهدًة على بناء القدرات وتشجيع

التنّوع الثقافي، إضافة إلى الحّث على بعض المبادئ االجتماعية مثل حرية التعبير وأيديولوجيات الجسد وتطوير الذات.

Sareyyet Ramallah – First Ramallah Group has received a 3-year project grant from the Representative Office of Norway to develop the Palestinian contemporary dance scene. Through a diverse, varied and exciting program, Sareyyet Ramallah will over the next 3 years engage in a series of collaborations with partner Siljeholm/Christophersen and other Norwegian and international dance companies.

Artists in residence – Siljeholm/Christophersen/Norway

Tuesday 21st – Saturday 25th April from 3:00 – 5:00 pm – Ottoman Court

Sareyyet Ramallah will over the next 3 years engage in a series of collaborations with partners Siljeholm/Christophersen and other Norwegian and international dance companies to create an artistic research platform for contemporary dance in Palestine.

They and Sareyyet Ramallah Dance Company will be creating a new dance production to be premiered in Palestine during the 2nd week of August 2015. The project explores individual and collective relationships to time and space in occupied territory. RCDF 2015 will be the kick off for the production period.

OPEN STUDIO for audiences every afternoon from 3-5 pm. Please join us for talks, dancing, screenings and more.

Co-produced by Sareyyet Ramallah. Funded by Arts Council Norway, The Norwegian Representative Office and other donors.

Siljeholm / ستتعاون سرية رام الله األولى على مدى السنوات الثالث المقبلة مع فرقةChristophersen وغيرها من فرق الرقص النرويجية والدولية لخلق منصة البحوث الفنية

للرقص المعاصر في فلسطين.

سيتم العمل على إنتاج عرض راقص في فلسطين خالل األسبوع الثاني من شهر آب عام 2015. سيتناول العرض العالقات الفردية والجماعية في األراضي المحتلة.

وسيتم فتح األستوديو للجمهور بعد ظهر كل يوم من الساعة٣:٠٠ - ٥:٠٠ مساًء في المحكمة العثمانية بهدف مشاركة الجمهور في الحوار حول العرض.

اإلنتاج المشترك بتمويل من مجلس الفنون النرويجي، وممثلية النرويج في فلسطين وجهات مانحة أخرى.
