A. Academic rationale and goals for the course (skills or level of knowledge students can be expected to attain). This course will provide students with an in-depth preparation in the concepts of database administration as to what would be expected from

them by recognized certifiers in database administration.

B. How does the course fit with the mission established by the department for the curriculum? If course is mandated by an accrediting or certifying agency, include the directive.

This course fits into the curriculum mission by preparing students for Professional Certification Exams from a world leader in the database administration arena in addition to a student’s degree from ASU.

C. Student population served. MIS students, as well as student of other majors are eligible for the course provided they have had the prerequisites or equivalents.

D. Rationale for the level of the course (lower, upper, or graduate). This is an upper level course because it has two 3000-level courses as prerequisites.
