The drawings featured in this calendar convey messages about safety and security. They were selected from numerous drawings submitted by children of personnel living and working overseas at U.S. diplomatic posts and in the American community.
Since 1986, thousands of children have learned how they can avoid danger and react appropriately in threatening situations or emergencies through the U.S. Department of State’s A–OK program. Managed by the State
Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security, A–OK is a security awareness program tailored to meet the needs and interests of children in specific age groups and geographic areas, teaching them basic safety information, with a special emphasis on overseas environments.
