What is Camp Lotsafun?Camp Lotsafun is a four-week summer day camp offered by South

Arkansas Community College division of Community Education. Open to area youth, kindergarden through sixth grade, Camp

Lotsafun emphasizes the idea of intersecting education with FUN. Registration is on a per-week basis and campers can attend

half-days or full-days. Additional information can be found at the end of this booklet.

Coming into my third year as director of Camp Lotsafun, I can honestly say this is probably my

favorite year yet. The talent on our staff just continues to amaze me; They do such a

wonderful job, not only with your children throughout camp, but in all of the nitty gritty

preparation stages as well.

New this year is the Adventure Pass, which is available until May 8. It will include four weeks

of full day sessions at Camp Lotsafun for only $320! That’s over 10% off!!! There are a limited

number of Adventure Passes available, so claim yours today!

Also new this summer, Camp Lotsafun will begin using Remind 101 for communication purposes

between camp staff and camp parents. Additional information regarding this can be

found in the Camp Information section.

SHARKS AND MINNOWS, FISH OUT OF THE WATER, ANIMALS, SNAILS, PLANTS, AND TIDE POOLS. THIS OUTDOOR CLASS IS FULL OF WATER-BASED FUN! WARNING! WATER FRIDAY!! CAMPERS SHOULD WEAR BATHING SUITS UNDER THEIR CLOTHES ON

FRIDAY AND BRING A TOWEL AS WELL AS A DRY CHANGE OF CLOTHES.

Remind 101We will be using Remind 101 for any important announcements. Remind 101 is a free web-based communication system. After registration is complete, a Camp Lotsafun representative will touch base regarding weekly course codes.

CANCELLED COURSES AND CHANGESSouthArk Off ice of Community Education reserves the r ight ot cancel any course before the f i rst sess ion begins due to low enrol lment. In the event the course is cancel led, parents/guardians wi l l be not i f ied and course fee wi l l be refunded. SouthArk also reserves the r ight to adjust course instructors at any t ime.

STUDENT DISMISSALIn order to maintain a safe and pleasant environment, Camp Lotsafun instructors reserve the r ight to dismiss students f rom his/her course i f the student demonstrates a behavioral or attendance pattern that does not comply with the Camp Lotsafun pol icies and procedures.

WILL MY CHILD NEED EXTRA SUPPLIES OR MATERIALS?Unless denoted before camp begins, chi ldren should not be asked to br ing extra suppl ies or mater ials . I f a need ar ises dur ing camp, a not i f icat ion wi l l be sent home by the camp director.

PICK UP AND DROP OFFCamper drop off begins at 7:30 a.m. The faci l i ty wi l l not be open pr ior to this t ime. For half day campers, pick up is at 12:00. For ful l day campers, pick up begins at 4:30. I f extended t ime is needed, i t should not go beyond 5:30. Parents wi l l be charged $15 per 15 minutes for campers that arr ive before 7:30 a.m. and/or are picked up after 5:30 p.m.

CAMPERS WILL BE EXPECTED TO:1. Wear their suppl ied nametag throughout the day. I t i s important to remember that this i s an active col lege campus and i t i s very l ikely that others wi l l be on campus at the same t ime that camp is in sess ion. Safety is the name of this game.

2. Stay with their ass igned camp group at al l t imes and part icipate in sess ion activ i t ies. Whi le we hope that this wi l l be a FUN summer, we also hope that you learn a few things.

3. Treat fel low campers, teachers, and al l staff with respect and understanding. We wi l l do the same fro you.. .scouts honor.

4. Always fol low the rules of good behavior establ ished by parents and teachers. Again, we want to have a blast with gyou! Bel ieve me, more fun is had when we al l play nicely.

5. Under absolutely no circumstances shal l campers bul ly other campers. This wi l l absolutely not be tolerated by Camp Lotsafun staff , and shal l be reported immediately.

CAMP RULES1. Vis i tors (parents/guardian and other immediate fami ly members) must check in at the Off ice of Corporate or Community Education before vis i t ing a camper (even for lunch). Our off ices can be found in the glass administ rat ive suite in the SouthArk Center for Workforce Development.

2. Cel l phones and other electronic i tems are not al lowed unless expl icit instruct ions are provided by the camp director. In cases of emergency, the camper my ut i l i ze phones in the front off ice (with teachers permiss ion only). I f cel l phones or other electronic i tems are out and cause disrupt ion, they wi l l be conf iscated by camp staff .

3. Campers are responsible for their own personal belongings and should not br ing any money or valuables. Campers are not al lowed to use the vending machines. Campers should eat breakfast before camp begins, but they may br ing snacks f rom home. Campers must br ing their own lunch i f staying past 12:00. A refr igerator wi l l be avai lable for storage i f absolutely necessary, but i t i s recommended that lunches be sent in an insulated lunch box. Please label al l i tems.

4. Campers must receive permiss ion before leaving the classroom or recreational area for any reason. They wi l l not be al lowed to leave campus without being accompanied by an author ized adult (see transportat ion contact form).

5. Campers should contact their instructor or camp director i f they have any problems with other campers or staff . Campers should not intent ional ly harm himself/herself or cause harm to another student or staff member.

6. Offensive speech or act ions are str ict ly prohibited.

7. I l legal behavior wi l l be reported to parents and proper author i t ies.

DEADLINES AND LATE PAYMENTSDeadl ine for regist rat ion is two weeks pr ior to the f i rst sess ion. Space is not guaranteed as courses are open on a f i rst come, f i rst serve basis . Payment must accompany regist rat ion form in order to secure the camper’s spot. Spots are not reserved unti l payment has been received. Students register ing late ( less than two weeks pr ior to f i rst sess ion) wi l l be charged a $25 late fee. Late regist rat ion is subject to avai labi l i ty. PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING1. I approve of my camper’s appl icat ion and enrol lment.

2. Refunds/Transfers: I understand that t ransfer requests must be made no later than three working days before the f i rst sess ion and that I must actual ly speak to an off ice staff member before my request wi l l be considered. I understand that there are no refunds for days missed.

3. I wi l l take responsibi l i ty for seeing that my camper compl ies with Camp Lotsafun pol icies and procedures. I understand that inappropr iate behavior or discipl ine problems may result in dismissal f rom camp without a refund.

4. I wi l l ensure that my camper receives t ransportat ion according to the fol lowing schedule: -Dropped off no earl ier than 7:30 am. -Half day campers, picked up no later than 12:00 pm (unless previously arranged with camp director) -Ful l day campers, picked up at 4:30 pm, or no later than 5:30 pm -Campers dropped off before designated drop off t ime, or picked up later than designated pick-up t ime wil l be charged $5 for every 5 minutes.
