We will send a Certificateof Eligibilityand a letter of Admissionfrom thepresidentof YU to the exchange student.The exchangestudent shouldbring these to his or her country'sJapaneseEmbassyor Consulate.

Some documents are additionally requiredfor applying for a VISA.You can refer to Appendix 1 for detailedinformation.

Attention:Yamaguchi University requires all exchange students or theirsupporter to submit a certificate of bank statement or an equivalentdocument that can satisfy the monthly living expense ofapproximately JPY70,OOO.This means that the bank balanceshould be more than JPY840,OOOfor the 1 year exchange program.

YamaguchiUniversityinsurancerequired?

Yes.All international students on college student visas must register forthe National Health Insurance program regardless of their intendedperiod of stay.They will need to pay the insurance premiums for this insurance.However, when they receive any medical treatment, they will berequired to pay only 30% of the total medical fee.The cost of the health insurance varies depending on income andplace of residence. For singles with no income, it is approximatelyJPY20 000 for one r.

All students, including research students and auditors, must takeout "Personal Accident Insurance for Students Pursuing Educationand Research" (JPY1,000 per year)and "Personal Liability Insurance for Students in addition to theDisaster and Accident Insurance for Students" (JPY340 per year)
