Per i divani Cap Martin Sunset, un sistema di sedute estremamente versatili, caratterizzate da linee pulite e asciutte, Carlo Colombo trova ispirazione nelle atmosfere elegantemente vintage degli anni ’50. L’eleganza di questi divani è sottolineata dai braccioli con cerniera a scomparsa e doppia cucitura ribattuta in gros-grain: un aspetto che ne esalta l’estrema cura sartoriale. I cuscini liberi, con rivestimento sfoderabile in pelle e tessuto, donano alla collezione un tocco di rilassata informalità, riconfermata dalla sottile struttura in tubulare di metallo studiata per conferire alle sedute un look estremamente leggero.

For the Cap Martin Sunset sofas, an extremely versatile seating system characterized by clean essential lines, Carlo Colombo found his inspiration in the elegantly vintage atmospheres of the 1950’s. The elegance of the sofas is emphasized by the armrests, trimmed with double stitching and gros-grain and equipped with concealed zippers. The loose cushions, with detachable covers in leather and fabric, give the collection a hint of relaxed informality which is also reflected in the slender tubular metal structure, studied to make the seats appear extremely light.

CARLO COLOMBO

Born in Carimate, Italy, Carlo Colombo is one of the designers with whom Cappellini has established one of the strongest and most pleasurable professional collaborations.Thanks to his versatility, Carlo Colombo has worked on numerous projects, most prominently the Zigo Zago carpet, the Hot Palm Springs sofa and the Ministeel table series.He has overseen the refurbishing of public and private buildings such as showrooms, offices, restaurants and villas, while providing consulting for the leading companies in the furniture sector.To this day, Carlo Colombo works for companies such as Moroso, Poliform, Varenna, Poltrona Frau and Flou.Among his most noteworthy accomplishments are the Tokyo “Designer of the Year” award in 2004 and the creation of the Hong Kong Louvre Gallery, an exhibition space for top quality design products.

Nato a Carimate, Carlo Colombo è uno dei designer italiani con cui Cappellini ha instaurato una tra le più solide e piacevoli collaborazioni.Grazie alla sua versatilità, Carlo Colombo viene coinvolto in numerosi progetti, tra cui spiccano il tappeto ZigoZago, il divano Hot Palm Springs e la serie di tavolini Ministeel.Ha preso parte alla ristrutturazione di edifici pubblici e privati, come showroom, uffici, ristoranti e ville, occupandosi parallelamente dell’attività di consulenza per aziende di spicco del campo dell’arredamento.A tutt’oggi, Carlo Colombo lavora per Aziende quali Moroso, Poliform, Varenna, Poltrona Frau e Flou.Tra i suoi accomplishment vanno citati il premio “Designer dell’Anno” di Tokyo del 2004 e la realizzazione della Hong Kong Louvre Gallery, uno spazio espositivo per prodotti di design di altissima qualità.
