what is the law society? The Law Society is a very important asset to our university, it is simply a society that has a very close connection with our law school. The Law Society organises events along with annual trips. There are numerous reasons as to why the Law Society is vital to every Law student, mainly being that it helps individuals maintain a balanced life style.

Law, as most people know is a challenging degree and it is often common for students to enter into a cycle of working hard and common for students to enter into a cycle of working hard and neglecting their social life. The Law Society plans many social events, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, enabling every studious law student a fun outlet during busy weeks of tutorials and lectures. The Law Society usually holds annual socials called ice breakers that allow students in various stages of their degrees to meet; this is a great opportunity for all new arrivals in Cardiff to make new friends.

The Law Society is not just helpful socially however in organising The Law Society is not just helpful socially however in organising events and trips, it can also help students to enhance their skills. The Law Society has a mooting club for example which is very important to aspiring barristers. This club gives students a taster of what to expect in a ruling court room where two teams of ‘advocates’ argue a fictitious legal problem in front of a judge (or panel of judges).. The law society also has a public speaking officer who organises extra-cirricular public speaking events to aid students who wish toextra-cirricular public speaking events to aid students who wish toenhance employability and earn transferrable skills.

‘Cardiff Law School is rated as one of the best in the UK, but this would not be possible without the helpful and friendly people who work in the Student Services Office – they work to make sure your transition into higher education and into the Law School family is smooth and comfortable.  In addition, the University’s Student Support Centre can help students who may be struggling with all aspects of University life.University life.
