La FCP es una fundación sin ánimo delucro creada en junio de 2004 por laFundación Cr istóbal Gabarrón y e lAyuntamiento de Mula. Está inscrita ene l Regi s t ro de Fundac iones de laComunidad Autónoma de la Región deMurcia con el número CUL-18.

La Fundac ión Casa P intada-MuseoCristóbal Gabarrón de Mula, inauguradaen junio de 2005 por SS. AA. RR. losPríncipes de Asturias, se conforma comoun foro para “la interpretación de lacultura contemporánea”, según indicansus estatutos, quiere ser una ventanaa b i e r t a a l a r t e y l a c u l t u r acontemporáneos.

La Fundación es sede del museo delartista Cristóbal Gabarrón. En él se recoge

una importante muestra de su obra quesubraya especialmente su visión deluniverso, la vida y la muerte. Otraexposición con obra de Gabarrón y dec a r á c t e r i t i n e r a n t e , “ E l M u s e oPeregrino”, muestra los fondos del centroanteriormente expuestos.

Finalmente la Fundación mantiene unact ivo programa dedicado a l artecontemporáneo y a la creación joven,con becas que van desde estanciasformativas en Nueva York a becas deproducción para el espacio joven de laCasa Pintada: la bodega aceitera del sigloXVIII, perfectamente conservada.

The Casa Pintada Foundation-CristóbalGabarrón Museum in Mula , wasinaugurated in June 2005 by Their RoyalHighnesses the Prince and Princess ofA s t u r i a s , a s a f o r u m f o r " t h ei n t e r p r e t a t i o n o f c o n t e m p o r a r yculture" with the purpose to be anopen window to contemporary art andculture.

The Foundation is the headquarters ofthe museum dedicated to the artist

Cristóbal Gabarrón and in it we canfind out an important sample of hiswork that especially highlights hisvision of the universe, of life and death.Another exhibition of an itinerantnature, also with works of Gabarrón,called "The Pilgrim Museum" showsthe center ' s co l lect ion that waspreviously on display.

Finally, the Foundation also has ana c t i v e p r o g r a m d e d i c a t e d t ocontemporary ar t and emerg ingcreators, offering grants that rangefrom training periods in New York toproduct ion grants for the spacededicated to young artists at the CasaPintada: the oil cellar from the XVIIIcentury which has been perfectlypreserved.

Perdidos en sombras

La exposic ión Perdidos en sombras deCristóbal Gabarrón que se exhibe en Mula,ciudad que lo vio nacer, muestra la nuevao b r a d e u n o d e l o s c r e a d o r e s m á spolifacéticos y acreditados en el panoramaartístico internacional. El primer contactocon las obras expuestas despertó coninmediatez mis sentidos y por ello intentaréplasmar en unas breves líneas estas primerasimpresiones. Lo primero que despertó miatención fueron el soporte, la forma, lamateria y el espacio, para después de unosminutos de contemplación, su obra meprovocó y me indujo a pensar que meencontraba ante un creador de formas devida y un buscador de esencias.

De la exploración de estas obras comienzo aestimar y valorar, el soporte de resina defibra de vidrio y la superficie, que a modode trama, como si de una tela se tratara, seaprecia y se valora cada hueco; cada marcaintencionada, huellas y heridas del paso deltiempo en un camino, en un sendero decreación, … las formas y los r itmos se

simplifican y se engrandecen con maestría,transformándolas en obras de un enormeequilibrio plástico. La relación entre soporte,forma, materia y espacio producen interés ysugestión en sí mismas. El tránsito de susformas, se logra por la direcc ión, lashendiduras, las marcas y el fraccionamientode l íneas gruesas sobre un soporte deimperfecciones, que nos enfrenten a uncamino de expresión contemporánea deenorme calidad.

Como creador de forma de vida, las obras deGabarrón t ienen algo importante quetransmitir, devuelve al ser humano aquellaparte que le es inherentemente, que lepertenece, pero que se está perdiendo, nospone de manifiesto su forma de entender elarte, y en consecuencia, de contemplar alpropio ser humano; nos acerca al espíritu delArte Rupestre, y al espíritu universal deAltamira que están presentes en sus obras.Los pigmentos de color negro nos recuerdanal carbón vegetal en los grafos de sus figurassilueteadas, que simbolizan las sombras. Laspinturas parecen estar realizadas medianteel soplado a través de una caña hueca como

s i d e A r t e P r e h i s t ó r i c o s e t r a t a r a ,esencialmente es una expresión primitiva delo mágico, del mundo espiritual de la pinturarupestre que las hacen merecedoras de serPatrimonio de la Humanidad, esas ideas yconceptos están presentes en la nueva obrade Gabarrón.

Nuestro artista es un buscador de esencias yun indagador de la fuente del arte. En lamuestra de perdidos en sombras explora loprimigenio, donde reina el arte, el cual sehace patente en sus composiciones a modosde sombras si lueteadas dentro de unassuperficies abstractas, fruto de años deexperiencia y de reflexión de una eternabúsqueda.

Podemos disfrutar estas obras en las salas deexposiciones temporales de la Fundación CasaPintada de Mula que no dejará indiferenteal amante del buen arte, produciendosentimientos y sensaciones, creando vínculosentre la obra y el espectador.

Lost in shadows

The exhibition "Lost in Shadows" by CristóbalGabarrón exhibited in Mula, his birth city,shows the new work of one of the mostversat i le and reputable art i s t s in theinternational art scene. At first contact withthe pieces exhibited, my senses whereawaken. I will try to capture in a few linesthese first impressions. The first thing thatcaught my attention was the support, form,matter and space, then a few minutes ofcontemplation, his work led me and causedme to understand that I was faced with acreator of life forms and a search engineessences.

Exploring these works begin to show thesupport of fiberglass resin and the surface,and as a plot, as if it were fabric, each holeis appreciated and valued; each markintentionally traces time on a road, a pathof creation, ... the ways and the rhythms aresimplified and magnified with expertise,

transforming them into works of enormousplastic equilibrium. The relationship betweensupport, form, material and space produceinterest and fascination in themselves. Thet rans i t o f i t s fo rms , i s a ch ieved bymanagement, cracks, marks and the splittingof thick lines on a substrate imperfectionsand we face a path of contemporaryexpression of great quality.

As creator of lifestyle, Gabarrón works havesomething important to show, returns to thehuman being that part which is inherentlyand belongs to him, but that is missing, showsus his understanding of art and therefore,to contemplate the man himself, brings uscloser to the spirit of rock art and theuniversal spirit of Altamira, which are presentin the works. The black color pigment, remindus of charcoal in the graphs of silhouettedfigures, symbolizing the shadows. Thepaintings appear to be made by blowingthrough a hollow reed as if it were PrehistoricArt, it is essentially a primitive expression of

the magical, spiritual world of the paintingsthat would deserve to be a World HeritageSite, these ideas and concepts are present inthe new work of Gabarrón.

Our artist is a seeker of forms, of essencesand of the fountain of art. In the sample lostin shadows he explores the primal, wherethere i s a r t , which i s ev ident in h i scompositions to modes within a shadowsilhouette of abstract surfaces, the result ofyears of experience and reflection of aneternal search.

These works can be enjoyed at the galleryfor temporary exhibit ions in the MulaFoundation: Painted House and will not beindifferent to the lover of fine art, creatingfeelings and emotions, creating links betweenthe work and the viewer.
