２階Ｄ201に国際交流サロンを設置しています。

国際交流サロンは、留学生の憩いの場及び生活相

談並びに交流イベントの開催に使用されていま

す。国際交流に興味のある方は、是非お気軽にお

越しください。

We have set up International Exchange Salon

where international students and researchers can

interact with Japanese students. This salon is

located at room D201 in bldg. D of Graduate

School of Science.

International Exchange Salon is a place for inter-

national students to relax and is also used as an

advisement office, or as a venue for international

exchange events. If you are interested in inter-

national exchange, please come to the salon ir-

respective of your nationality.

Bus Tour for International Students of GSS

June 2nd, 2019 bus tour for international students in the Gradu-

ate School of Science was held. 44 participants, including 38

International students went to Shiga Prefecture by bus.

The students experienced pottery at Shigaraki. After that, they

had lunch using Shigaraki-ware. They also went to the Lake Biwa

Museum and Omi Jingu Shrine. The students were delighted that

they could go to the largest lake in Japan.

理学研究科・理学部留学生対象バスツアー

２０１９年６月２日（日）理学研究科・理学部留学生対象バスツ

アーを開催しました。理学研究科留学生３８名を含む４４名で滋

賀県に行きました。信楽では陶芸を体験した後、信楽焼の食器を

使い食事をしました。また、琵琶湖博物館や近江神宮にも行きま

した。学生たちは日本で一番大きな琵琶湖に行けたことを喜んで

いました。

Sports Event ‘Table Tennis’

The sporting event "Table Tennis" was held at

the table tennis cube from 16:00 on May 16,

2019 (Thu). A total of 33 students including 20

international students participated. Students

enjoyed table tennis while sweating for a while.

Bus Tour for International Students of

GSS

My name is Huang Xuhao, coming from China, a mas-

ter student in the department of chemistry. I am hon-

ored to have a chance offered by school of science to

participate in the bus tour. This is my first time to ap-

preciate this scenery of Lake Biwa, the largest fresh-

water lake in Japan, and to make pottery in Shiga pre-

fecture. After 1.5 hours driving, we arrived at Shiga

prefecture, circling around lake Biwa, and a part of the

Kansai region in the western part of Honshu island. At

first, we experienced the pottery making. During this

process, everyone take advantages of their creativity to make assorted artworks. Then,

we all together enjoyed a traditional Japanese meal which was absolutely unique and deli-

cious. After meal, we visited Lake Biwa museum and Oumi Jingu in which not only visited

the beautiful scene, but also understood local culture of there. In a word, this bus tour

was helpful to broaden my horizons, and I really enjoyed this trip. Also, I am thankful to

nishiguchi san, other staffs and friends for giving us this excellent bus tour.

スポーツイベント「卓球大会」

２０１９年５月１６日（木）16：00より卓球場にて

「スポーツイベント・卓球大会」が開催されました。

留学生２０名を含め総勢３３名が参加しました。最初

は遠慮がちにプレイしていた学生たちも、いつの間に

か額に汗をかきながら、夢中でプレイしていました。

Salon. The chair of the In-

ternational Affairs Commit-

tee, Professor KUBO intro-

duced the new international

students. 60 people interact-

ed with one another and en-

joyed heartwarming handmade

food by Science Buddy.

Orientation for Graduate In-

ternational Students in

spring

From 10am on the 5th of April

2019, the orientation for gradu-

ate international students en-

rolled in spring was held at the

International Exchange Salon. 33

people attended the orientation

including 17 new students, faculty members and members of international ex-

change group Science Buddy. The chair of the International Affairs Committee,

Professor KUBO gave welcome remarks and then the faculty staffs explained to

the international students the supporting system of Graduate School of Science,

tips on living, and procedures of enrollments all in English.

春季入学留学生ウエルカムパーティー 2019年4月12日（金）18時より国際交流サロンにて

「春季入学留学生Welcome party」を開催しました。

久保留学生相談室長より新留学生の紹介があり、彼

らの新しい門出を祝いました。60名の学生及び教職

員が参加し、交流を深めました。参加者は、国際交

流グループScience Buddy手作りの料理を食し、心も

お腹も満たされた一時を過ごしました。
