主席的话 （2020 年 2 月）
在上期专栏中，我曾谈及修复人员在处理灾后余殃 - 不论是日本首里城、巴西国立博物馆或巴黎圣母院的火
灾、威尼斯的洪水或气候转变中可担任的角色。没想到就在这期专栏，我再次讨论同一主题，这次更是直
接与火灾和气候转变有关。由于我现居澳洲，因此在过去数月中，我亲眼看到澳洲因经历有纪录以来最炎
热及最干燥的一年而引发的灾难性山火。
截至 2020年 1月中，这个山火季节一共烧毁了 1,800 多万亩土地，即斯里兰卡总土地面积的 2.5倍；最少 24
人丧生，1,700个家园被毁，估计有 10亿动物因此丧命，灾情令人震惊。文化遗产如自然文化景观、考古遗
址和博物馆的损失也相当重大 - 最少两家当地博物馆被完全焚毁，还有数以千万计的私人珍藏也受损毁。烧
毁一切原是火的本质，换言之，大火过后可供修复的实在寥寥无几，那么作为修复人员，我们又可如何克
尽己任？
首先，提高认知及警觉。澳洲的山火其实显示了气候转变在全球带来的影响，比很多人预期的要来得早。
国际间对山火的报导，亦多将它视为气候变化为全球带来恶果的警号。以前我们虽然留意到冰川高速流失，
海平面不断升高，甚至影响了一些太平洋岛屿，但我们总以为直接的影响还有多年才会到来。然而，其实
我们所害怕的现在已经出现，而且我们并未准备好去面对。我们需要尽快认清整个局面才能发挥自己的作
用。
第二，透过小区支持。身为修复人员，日常工作让我们常与不同社群合作，保育对他们有重要价值的文化
遗产。因此，我们处于最能支持他们去保护其文化遗产的首要位置。在此过程中，我们不能忽略因气候变
化导致世界变得越来越奇怪所带来的不安。例如我最近便留意到，有指太平洋群岛的居民认为越来越难诠
释当地的天气模式。
第三，我们需要重新调校自己的专业焦点。虽然至目前为止，我们的建议大都围绕如何适应不断转变的情
况和舒缓气候转变的结果，但从现在起，我们亦需要计划如何迎接及应对灾难事件。
这样迎接 2020 年好像不甚正面，但以上事项及如何向业界提供支持，已纳入本理事会的探讨要务。就此，
本会将于 2020 年 3 月在华盛顿哥伦比亚特区史尼森学会（Smithsonian）举办的「逆流而上：在气候转变中
保育文化传承的环球策略」（Stemming the Tide: Global Strategies for Sustaining Cultural Heritage through
Climate Change）会议上担任重要的角色。期待下次向各位报告活动的成果。

从博物馆高峰论坛 2019 了解创建与转型
在 2019 年 11 月最后一周的一个温暖怡人和平静的早上，为期两天的博物馆高峰论坛 2019
于香港会议及展览中心揭开序幕。高峰论坛由香港特别行政区康乐及文化事务署（康文署）联
同大英博物馆主办。虽然香港在此前数月持续发生社会运动，致令部份博物馆节目被中断或取
消，但是次论坛最终能圆满举行，实在令人鼓舞。我们接待了逾 1,000位来自世界各地的代表，
其中 30 位更是本地、亚洲、欧洲、美洲和澳洲等世界知名文博机构的领导人物和专业人士，联
同数字在论坛中担任讲者或主持人的国际文物修护学会院士和会员，高峰论坛联系了各地的修
复与博物馆专业人员，与会者都尽兴而归。
秉承 2017 年于香港举办首届博物馆高峰论坛的丰硕成果，2019 年的第二届博物馆高峰论
坛再接再厉，以「创建与转型」为主题，提供了合时的平台，为博物馆专业人员、资深业者和
博物馆粉丝揭开对话的序幕。新科技涌现，生活方式急速转变，加上出现大量文化活动供选择，
均为世界各地的博物馆带来重大挑战。
在两天的论坛中，诸位杰出讲者分享了扩充和发展博物馆的经验与丰富知识。当中促成博
物馆推陈出新、适应周遭不断演进的世界及与其天衣无缝地融合的新视觉，阐明了当中不可或
缺的创意策略。高峰论坛亦深入探讨了博物馆抛砖引玉，推动国际文化交流，并充当本地化和
国际化间桥梁的不同角色。此外，论坛也讨论了博物馆采用先进科技呈现艺术与意式形态、诠
释古今文化藏品、及创造访客新体验的趋势。
回顾康文署与大英博物馆自 1980 年代以来的长远合作关系，论坛同场举办了一个小型展
览，展出两家机构在过去 30 年来紧密合作下所举办的多项展览和节目。适逢香港艺术馆在三年
大型翻新后重新开幕，大会在该馆举行了欢迎酒会，让与会者在享受香港维多利亚港迷人夜景
的同时，可以欣赏精心策划的展览及与世界各地的参加者交流，扩阔专业网络。
高峰论坛以两个文化导赏团作结，与会者在一个轻松愉快的早上到访了不同的文化和历史
景点，投入香港这个中西交汇城市独特的文化生态。筹备委员会很高兴活动得到不少正面响应
与意见，可谓硕果丰收。我们明白高峰论坛的完结，并不代表我们为各自所属博物馆追寻别出
