It showcases the celebrated guqin – the essence of Chinese music, a symbol of tradiWonal literaW and a UNESCO‐recognised part of China’s cultural heritage. Guqin players from the UK and overseas including Cheng Yu, Charles Tsua, Luca Pisano, Peiyou Chang, Edward Luper and others to present a special evening of tradiWonal and contemporary guqin music. The concert opens with a Beijing Opera piece The Drunken Concubine 貴妃醉酒 by the UKCOA and ends with the London Youlan Qin Society’s guqin ensemble performance Moon Over the Mountain Pass 關山月。 Programme includes: Flowing Water 流水, Water Immortal 水仙操, Returning Home 归去来辞, A Stream Flowing over Stones 石上流泉 , Mee9ng a Ghost in a Deserted House 孤馆遇神, Spring Breeze 春风.
