From the Latin word “transformare” meaning to change the nature, function and condition of, or to convert, transformational leadership encourages and facilitates organizational change.”

Kursus Kepimpinan dan Pengurusan Pendidikan

Puan Salmah Were you able to attend the meeting yesterday? En. Sabran, our school HM, announced that there would be change in the Sixth Level curriculum. He feels that we need to introduce the student to the subject of computer so they will be familiar with them

Cik Aisyah Don’t you think it’s too early to do so?

Cik Rogayah He says it’s just the right time. He went to KL last week and he observed Sixth Level students already learning how to write their reports using the computer.

Cik Aisyah I think, that’s a great idea. The times call for it. Students who have computer skills have better prospects of earning well in future.

Puan Salmah Oh, but we have only two computer in our laboratory. I don’t think that’s enough for all our Sixth Level student to use.

Cik Rogayah I agree. But En. Sabran said that we could teach students two at a time while the rest are doing their subjects. In fact, he presented a sample schedule for En. Kusno Sixth Level class. I think it would work.

Let’s study

Puan Salmah, Cik Aisyah and Cik Rogayah are teachers at the JB Primary School in Johore. They are talking about their HM whileHaving lunch at the school canteen.

Page 24: CERAMAH KEPIMPINAN TRANSFORMASIONAL (2)

Puan Salmah

But do we have a computer teacher?

Cik Aisyah En. Sabran trained in KL last month. He finished a basic computer course. He is scheduling three of us to be tutored by him on how to use the computer every after school.

Cik Rogayah I’d love to volunteer!

Cik Aisyah Me, too. In fact, we could request that we be his first three trainees. I think that will be great! And aside from that, En. Sabran has set a meeting with local officials and businessmen. I think, he will ask them to donate some computers for school. I also heard he planning a fund-raising dinner to raise money for more computers.

Cik Rogayah Wouldn’t learning to use computer be too difficult for us?

Cik Aisyah Don’t worry, Cik Rogayah. En. Sabran is kind and patient. In fact, he encouraged me to learn to use a computer so I would develop new skills

Puan Salmah

Oh, En. Sabran is really hardworking and admirable. He inspires me to do better in my work.

Cik Rogayah I think we all are inspired to do better! I feel lucky to have him as our principal
