Ok boys it time for the Shade Tree Gunsmith. What I'm about to show you
will dazzle you to the core. This is for all you amateur gunsmith builders
without all the fancy equipment. Grab your hammer, pliers, socket and
wrenches because we are going to bent those Cetme flats!
Step number 1 ..blue dye that center.
Step number 2 set your bolt carrier in the grove and scribe that line down
the center of your flat using the carrier as a guide on both sides.

Look what a nice job and straight alignment you did.
Step number 3 .. get that 3/4" steel bar out and drill some 5/16" holes for
5/16" bolts. Use 4" long bolts if you running through the table top into a
2X4. NO fancy jig here!
Run that rod down the center of the flat between the scribed lines ...align
and bolt to the table.

Step number 4..get that old long flat point common screw driver out and
start to prying putting more force leverage against the wood table. This will
keep from scaring the flat.

Look what a little prying does.
Step number 5.. now look for you channel lock pliers and find a dirty rag
and flex those muscles.

Now get that plastic hammer out and finish the bend. Tapping easy and
equally on both sides...like cross torquing.
My, my look what we got here!

Nice looking receiver Nitegunner, and nice tutorial also. Just shows what
someone with determination and a little imagination can do.

nice job. how did the bolt sit in the inner rails after your bend was it level
or did it have a slight tilt from side to side. how would you rate the
stamped receiver as to the quality on everything lining up

Just a reminder to people considering starting off with this build.
The order of the build would be best done as
Grip mod to semi-auto and throw out your FA parts not needed.
bend receiver
weld receiver
weld in semi-auto shelf
THEN weld in your trunion and other parts.
You don't want to weld up your receiver, and then weld in the trunion
without having the semi-shelf welded in place.
I know the holes are not drilled yet in the receiver, so it will not accept any
FCG, but it's best if the shelf is welded in place as soon as possible after the
receiver has been welded up. This way nobody can claim your building a
machinegun receiver.
(also: throw out the FA FCG parts not needed... this is best done prior to
starting the bend.)
Got to keep the ATF happy...

You are correct Gary. I had already completed my FCG modifications. I
posted the weld because I'm a little ahead of the build and Tommerr wanted
to see it. Here is what FCG should go through to be modified. These
pictures were from another post. Be sure to throw the FA parts away. You
have no use for them.
