The site is located off Kennedy boule-vard between Grand Central avenue and Cleveland avenue. Across the street from University of Tampa and also the locally popular coffee shop called Oxford Exchange. The site i t-self is currently a parking lot with a scarcity of pedestrian life . The project entails a development of a mult i-functioning complex which will include a public park, business cen-ter, commercial spaces , residential tower as well as designated parking and a public restaurant . The residen-t ial port ion will range from a variety of unit s izes and options to allow for maximum exposure to the public li fe and scenic views of the city .

The design proposal consists of an overall dual L-shaped configuration. The floor plan expressed this layout and assists in creating a focal point of exterior public space. The inverts L-shapes creates a public and private outdoor spaces. The office building has an escalated tier system to allow for roof top access on each floor and help break down the scale of the large residential tower. An ele-vated restaurant is on the second floor, below on the ground floor consists of retail spaces and public shopping outlet .

Displayed is the Northern side of the site looking south. This expresses the public space leading into retail shops on the ground level and lobby for both office and residential . The office spaces allow for maximum viewing exposure to the public to create a unique relationship to the lower levels . The vert ical core is pri-marily on the eastern side of the building with smaller residential lounge spaces adjacent, located every other floor for double height spaces. The residential units themselves have individual balconies also located every other floor opposite the floors with lounges. Penthouse units are located on the upper floors .

The city of Ottawa is the [capital of Canada] which consists of a large col-lection of governmental buildings and sectors. The site is the islands of Chau-diere, Albert and Victoria located on the border of the Ontario and Quebec Provinces. The islands originally are in-habited by the local indigenous tribes that still fight for ownership.

Care of Making is designed to give appreciation to things thats are hand made and put time, effort and “care” into them. Not to take ad-vantage of what is around you and understand the gift of giving can be far superior than receiving. Putt ing your emotions into your work and expressing ones dedication to excel-lence. By putt ing care into making something gives you more appreci-ation to the material i tself . Under-standing how to ut ilize this material and what tools should be used the create a specific look or outcome. Being patient and taking your t ime to make something great can really be shown in the final product .

Tea House Retreat

The concept of the tea room and matati wall came from the urge to create an interactive piece that has elements protruding in and out of i t s imilar to the push pin toy that we see in stores . Incorporating that into a [cherished space] seemed to a fascinating idea for me. The site is a secluding location outside Fairfield, CT off a nature path that follows a local r iver and Lake Morgan. This s i te is s ignificant to me because my grandparents live near it and i would take ventures down this path when-ever I vis i t . The water element was a great generating to interact with and assist the sense of peace and serenity while taking a journey for a tea ceremony.
