COURSE OVERVIEW

Hazardous waste or Scheduled Wastes are very toxic and dangerous. Improper management and

handling of such waste will lead to series pollution of the environment and the ecosystem as well as

immediate or long term impact to human safety and health.

According to the Waste Management and Minimization Compliance to Environmental Quality

(Scheduled Waste) Regulations, 2005, “Every waste generator shall ensure that all his employees

involved in the identification, handling, labelling, transportation, storage, and spillage or discharge

response for scheduled wastes attend training programmes.”

This same requirement for training applies to all employees of waste contractors involved in the

handling, transportation and storage of scheduled waste.

Mr. Azhar is a certified PSMB Trainer (TTT) (Certificate No. EMP/1101) and held Scheduled

Wastes competence certificate (CePSWaM) (Certificate No. CePSWaM/00328) from EiMAS

(Environmental Institute of Malaysia) . He is also Registered Safety and Health Officer with

DOSH, Malaysia and also FMM (Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers) Environmental

Committee Members, 2012 – 2013. Mr. Azhar is invited as Keynote Speaker for National

Industrial Waste Management Seminar, 2013 under topic “Best Practices of Scheduled

Waste Management in Multinational Company “

He has more than 20 years job experienced especially in managing Environmental, Safety &

Health in manufacturing industry. Previously he is a Section Manager in an Environmental

Division, Environmental Strategy Department at Hitachi Air Conditioning Malaysia Sdn

Bhd,one of the well known Multinational Company in Malaysia.

During his previous appointment as Section Manager , he was entrusted to be in charge of

Environmental Management System (EMS) and headed the committee for ISO14001

Certification whereby the company has been awarded the Certification in 1997. He was

also responsible in handling and managing ESH matter in the company such as

Environmental Management, Waste water Treatment, Internal Auditors, Energy Saving,

Schedule Waste Management, Chemical Handling, Chemical Spillage, Chemical Hazard

Management, Emergency Response Team. He established the procedures, prepare manual

and ensure the company’s activities are geared towards compliance and meet the

government requirement. He is also a Chief Trainer for Environmental training and was the

lead trainer for scheduled wastes control and management and ISO 14001 management

system.

Mr. Norimin is a Senior Consultant in Environmental, Safety and Health field of expertise. He

has accomplished his Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering at

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

He has total of 13 years experienced in public services, environmental management , waste

water engineering and managing safety & health training and consultancy. He started his

career with Department of Environment Malaysia (DOE) as an Environment Officer in

Selangor State. He has vast experienced in managing EIA, Toxic Waste & Illegal Dumping,

Schedule Waste Management, Open Burning and also Industrial Compliances.

He is also a certified trainer by Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) Certificate

No : EMP/1835 and National Institute of Occupational Safety And Health (NIOSH) Malaysia

Certicate No : BTT 2590-P. He has trained a group of industry such as Shell Refinery, Kualiti

Alam, Shin-Etsu, IIUM and many more.

He has associated himself in established company such as IWK Sdn Bhd national sewerage

company, Aito Fireworks Malaysia fire safety company as well as Amiosh Resources Sdn Bhd

(ARSB) a recognised HSE consultancy firm by DOSH Malaysia. During his past tenure, he has

gained vast knowledge and extensive experienced in Environmental, Health and Safety and Fire Safety Management
