SECONDA DOMENICA DEL TEMPO ORDINARIO 18 DI GENNAIO, 2015

“John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by he said: ‘Behold the Lamb of God.’ The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them ‘What are you looking for?’ They said to him, ‘Rabbi…where are you staying?’ He said to them, ‘Come, and you will see.’ Did you notice that John’s comment caused the disciples to leave him and begin their journey with Jesus? Did you notice that the response of Jesus caused

Andrew to follow Him and then go and search out his brother Simon. Did you notice that at his meeting with Jesus change took place, a change of name and heart? There are several accounts of the meeting of the apostles with Jesus, and His invitation to stay with Him, become His disciple and eventually accept the role of ‘fishers’ of other people. All seem to reflect a meeting of curious yet seeking people. Each seems to be based on words of other people, as John or Andrew. Each results with a change of heart and discipleship. Our Sunday gathering is no different. We come looking, and as Jesus asks us ‘what for’ we might answer differently. My family, forgiveness, peace, or even ‘what you want me to do.’ Join with the first disciples of Jesus and seriously consider the many needs that beset us, and the many ways the Lord wants us to respond to His needs. This week reflect on the words” ‘Come and you will see.’ “Juan vio acercarse a Jesús y dijo: ‘Este es el Cordero de Dio.” Los dos discípulos, al oírlo hablar así, siguieron a Jesús. El se dio vuelta y, viendo que lo seguían, les preguntó: ‘¿Qué quieren?’. Ellos le respondieron: ‘Rabbí, ¿dónde vives?’ ‘Vengan y lo verán’” ¿Notó usted que el comentario de Juan causó que los discípulos lo dejaran y comenzaran su jornada con Jesús? ¿Notó que la respuesta de Jesús causó que Andrés lo siguiera y luego fuera a buscar a su hermano Simón? ¿Se fijó en que este encuentro con Jesús dio lugar a un cambio, y a un cambio de nombre e intención? Cada uno resulta con un cambio de intención y en disciplinado. Nuestros encuentros dominicales no son diferentes. Venimos buscando, y cuando Jesús nos pregunta ‘¿Qué quieren?’, cada uno de nosotros responderá algo diferente. Mi familia, perdón, paz, o aún ¿qué quieres que yo haga?. Únase a los primeros discípulos de Jesús y seriamente considere las muchas necesidades que tenemos y las muchas formas que el Señor desea que respondamos a Sus necesidades. Esta semana reflexione en las palabras ‘Vengan y lo verán’.

Il brano presenta il sapore dei fatti vissuti e ben impressi nella memoria, perché hanno cambiato la vita. I discepoli hanno dato la loro fiducia a Giovanni il Battista. È sulla sua parola che “seguono” Gesù indicato come l’“Agnello di Dio”. L’incontro con Cristo prende l’avvio da una domanda che gli viene rivolta: “Dove abiti?”. Ma subito si trasforma in un affidamento dei discepoli al mistero. Gesù risponde: “Venite e vedrete”. L’esperienza del condividere tutto convince i discepoli che Gesù è il Messia atteso.

L’incontro con Cristo non è un avvenimento superficiale: si configura come un sentirsi compresi e amati; cambia il nome, e, con il nome, cambia l’atteggiamento di fondo: “Tu sei Simone... ti chiamerai Cefa”. Il trovare Gesù - o meglio, l’essere trovati da Gesù - non solo muta l’esistenza, ma rende annunciatori della salvezza. A modo di traboccamento di gioia. A modo di esigenza di partecipare insieme alla vita nuova scoperta in Cristo.

BAPTISM INFORMATION The Sacrament of Baptism

is Celebrated Once a month on Sunday

One Sunday in Spanish after the 12:30pm Mass and One Sunday in English at 2PM.

THE NEXT AVAILABLE DATES ARE: January 25th — English Baptisms

Please come to the Parish rectory office as soon as possible before planning the baptism.

BIBLE STUDY

A bible study is conducted each Monday evening at 7pm with Father Jeba

in the PARISH CENTER. All are invited!

2015 MASS BOOK The Mass Book for the year

2015 is Available. The offering is $15. To expedite the process please come prepared with the names and the dates of your choice in print, masses are reserved on a first come basis.

Their will only be one mass celebrated at 9am in the Parish Center Chapel. The 8am and 7:30pm

Para hacer el proceso mas rápido por favor traiga los nombres y fechas de su agrado por escrito

en la forma proporcionada. Las forma se puede encontrar en la rectoría o en las mesas de atrás

de la Iglesia. La ofrenda por Misa es de $15 y se reservaran por orden de llegada.

INFORMACION DE BAUTIZOS El Sacramento de Bautizo solo se celebrara una vez al mes

los domingos. Los Bautizos en Español se llevan acabo después

de la misa de 12:30pm y los bautizos en Ingles a las 2:00pm.

LAS PROXIMAS FECHAS SON: ENERO 25, 2015 - INGLES

Por favor acérquese a la rectoría de la Parroquia lo mas pronto posible antes de planear el bautismo.
