DESCRIPTION

An update of CII work towards the Jammu & Kashmir relief and rehabilitation for member’s reference : 1. CII has conducted a study regarding the requirements and distributed the essential items to the beneficiaries through the Army & State Administration 2. A CII Staff team has been set up for J&K relief and rehabilitation. 3. Collection centres have been setup in Chandigarh, Jammu, Delhi and details of the contact persons have been circulated earlier to facilitate collection and transportation of relief material. 4. Relief Material in the form of significant quantities of drinking water bottles, ready to eat food packs, juice bottles, glucose, medicines, blankets, torches with batteries, water purifiers, toiletries, etc have to sent to disaster affected areas. 5. National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had approached CII to help in getting critical medicines/surgical items for the relief work. Medicines / surgical instruments have been procured by CII Foundation and sent to the affected area. 6. CII has also set up Control Rooms at Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu and Srinagar providing relief material in consultation with the local authorities & Army. 7. Tied-up with Air India and other airlines to transport the relief material to Jammu & Kashmir. Enclosed is a brochure containing further information on the initiatives being carried out by CII.

• Blankets • Water puriers • Soap cakes • Sanitary napkins • Dry rations • Ready to use

kits comprising food items, soaps, medicines, candles, salt, drinking water, matchboxes,

milk powder, toiletries and torches etc have been distributed.
