802.11ac Wave 2 AP Update Nové AP řady 1800
Market Trends
Explosive growth in mobile computing. By 2020:
Wi-Fi traffic will exceed wired traffic by 21%(1)
Global mobile traffic will grow 10X(2)
More than 63% of enterprises expect their desktops to be replaced
by mobile devices connected via the office WLAN(2)
85% of enterprises expect to deploy employee-owned devices or
mixed-use policies, which could triple the mobile devices in the
workplace and on the WLAN(2)

Clients get on and off the network
quicker, allowing more
clients to be served.
Multiuser MIMO (MU-MIMO)
Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) - Details
With two antennas, using TxBF we have 4
antennas, and we can place the signal
anywhere we want.
While TxBF (directing) the signal at, say,
User1, we have to also create a NULL or
lower signal for Users 2 & 3 etc.

DBS optimizes RRM
Selecting a channel width is challenging! We are not all RF GURUS!!
Dynamic Bandwidth Selection - Problem
Cisco Air Time Fairness (ATF)
After Air time is allocated per SSID, per realm, per client.
There is now better control over how air time is shared.
Before Rate limiting can only specify a bit rate (throughput) limit.
There is no way to limit the duration that the bit rate will use.

10YR Expiring AP / WLC Certificates CAPWAP utilizes DTLS to encrypt communication between the Lightweight AP and
Wireless LAN Controller (WLC). The Manufacturing Installed Certificates (MIC)
or Self-Signed Certificates (SSC) are used to authenticate Lightweight AP to
WLC during DTLS session establishment.
The certificate validity period is 10 years and CAPWAP/DTLS connection cannot
be established after the MIC or SSC validity end date.
