Considerado como uno de los grandes magos porRobert Houdin, trabajó por Europa y Estados Unidos.A fines del siglo XIX se lo creía muerto hasta que en1903 Harry Houdini lo ubicó en Alemania. Intentóhablar con él , pero Frikell se negó. Houdini preten-dió seducirlo con presentes y entradas para susshows, pero se seguía negando. Finalmente Frikellaccedió a recibirlo en su casa el 10 de octubre de1903, un rato antes de llegar Houdini, Frikell fallecióde un ataque al corazón.
Considered by Robert Houdin as one of the greatestmagicians, he acted in Europe and in the UnitedStates. At the end of the XIXth century manythought he was dead, but in 1903 Harry Houdinifound him in Germany. He tried to talk with him, butFrikell refused. Trying to seduce him, Houdini offeredgifts and tickets for his shows, but without success.Finally Frikell agreed to talk with him, and invitedHoudini to his house on November 10, 1903.Unfortunately, before he arrived, he died that day ofa heart attack.

Este cartel es del mago Harmington, quien fue unode lo que trabajó en el famoso Theatre Robert Hou-din que fuera, entre otras cosas, cuna del Cine.En este Teatro fundado por Jean Eugéne Robert Hou-din, padre de la magia moderna , no solo trabajaronnotables magos del siglo XIX sino que GeorgeMélies, considerado padre del cine, realizó allí susprimeras filmaciones.
This poster refers to Harmington, one of the magi-cians that worked in the famous Robert-HoudinTheatre, which was, among other things, birthplaceof filmmaking. This Theatre was founded by JeanEugéne Robert Houdin, father of modern magic. Notonly the 19th Century most remarkable magiciansworked there: George Mélies, who is considered thefather of the movies, shot there his early films.

Fu Manchú llegó a contar conuna gran colección de batas chi-nas y quimonos entre propios yde su elenco a lo largo del tiem-po. Estas preciosas piezas origi-nales de vestuario eran compra-das en sus viajes tanto por elmundo o traídas especialmentede Oriente. Así, él mismo cuentaque trajo una cantidad impor-tante de piezas de vestuariooriental de Hollywood, los quehabían sido usados en cortome-trajes de distintos estudios.

Fu Manchu gathered a great collection ofChinese robes and kimonos, including hisown and the ones for the cast. This beauti-ful original pieces of costume were eitherbought when he was traveling around theworld or brought specially from China. Hetells how he brought an important numberof Oriental costumes from Hollywood thathad been used in short films of differentstudios.

The MinguetsEngaños a Ojos Vista y diversión de trabajos mun-danos fundada en lícitos juegos de manos, writtenby Pablo Minguet and Yrol in 1733, was the mostpopular book on magic in Spanish until the end ofthe 19th Century. Several genuine editions -as wellas some falsifications- are known.
Dos diferentes ediciones pi-ratas de la primera edición.Se observar ver la tipografíadistinta. El grabado que es elsello característico de losMinguet no es el auténtico.Esta edciones son de finalessiglo XVIII.
Two different pirate copies ofthe first edition. A differencein the typography can benoticed. This is not the gen-uine engraving that charac-terizes the Minguets. Theseeditions date from the endof 18th Century.
