College Park Accessible Community Garden

Col lege Park Acc es sible Community Garden 2014

We had our fourth successful gardening season this year with 74 different garden plots including 11 raised garden boxes. Our gardeners consist of individuals, couples, families and one school classroom from Greystone

Heights School. Combined we had over 120 people gardening who enjoyed fresh vegetables that they grew from seed or plants. This year we were part of the City of Saskatoon’s Compost Green Bin program and found that the garden refuse was huge and that in 2015 we will be requesting a second bin

and continue to compost through this program. Sherbrooke Community Centre had a group of grade 6 students (iGen) who are on-site at their

facility and these students volunteered tomulch our pathways of our garden in September. They did a wonderful job and we will be looking forward to the

iGen classroom gardening with us in the Spring. At this time we have a waiting list of 7 people for garden plots for next year. If you live in the

College Park, East College Park or Greystone Heights area you qualify to apply for a garden plot for 2015 and can be added to our waiting list. Email
