Povijest Podravke zapoËinje davne 1934. godine kada su braÊa Wolf u Koprivnici zapoËela preradu i prodaju voÊa. U to vrijeme nisu mogli ni slutiti da Êe se njihova obiteljska radionica razviti u jednu od vodeÊih prehrambenih kompanija sa sjedištem u srednjoj, istoËnoj i jugoistoËnoj Europi.

Pod današnjim imenom kompanija poËinje poslovati 1947. godine, kada je radionica braÊe Wolf prešla u društveno vlasništvo.

Godine 1957. proizvedene su prve dehidratizirane juhe. Otad su Podravkine juhe prepoznatljiv dio njezina proizvodnog asortimana, ali i ime koje simbolizira kvalitetu.

Godinu dana nakon proizvodnje prvih Podravkinih juha, 1958., Podravkin tim struËnjaka na Ëelu s profesoricom Zlatom Bartl izumio je Vegetu - najpoznatiju Podravkinu marku koja se danas prodaje u više od 40 zemalja svijeta.

Godine 1967. zapoËinje izvoz Vegete na maarsko i rusko tržište, pa je to godina u kojoj su se Podravkini proizvodi prvi put našli na stranom tržištu.

Godine 1972. Podravka razvija svoju drugu osnovnu djelat-nost - farmaceutiku - i osniva tvrtku Belupo.

Godine 1981. u sklopu industrijske zone Danica u Koprivnici sagraena je tvornica lijekova i kozmetike Belupo.

Godine 1993. Podravka je registrirana kao dioniËko društvo, a 1998. godine Podravkine dionice uvrštene su u I. kotaciju ZagrebaËke burze.

Godine 1997. zapoËinje snažan investicijski ciklus. Sagraena je tvornica Vegete u Koprivnici, tvornica Vegete, juha i praškastih proizvoda u Poljskoj, tvornica Belupa u Koprivnici te je implementiran informatiËki sustav SAP koji je povezao sve poslovne procese u kompaniji.

Godine 2002. Podravka je realizirala svoje prve dvije akvi-zicije - Ital-Ice u Hrvatskoj i Lagris u »eškoj i SlovaËkoj. Iste godine sklopljen je strateški savez s Nestlèom o prodaji i distribuciji proizvoda te kompanije na tržištima jugoistoËne Europe.

Godine 2003. u Koprivnici je otvorena nova tvornica Podrav-ka jela.

Godine 2004. Belupo je u Koprivnici otvorio novu tvornicu polukrutih i tekuÊih lijekova vrijednu 10 milijuna eura.

15History of PodravkaPodravka’s history began in the year 1934, when the Wolf brothers began to process and sell vegetables and fruits in Koprivnica. At the time, they could never have dreamed that their family workshop would develop into one of the leading food companies with headquarters in central, eastern and southeastern Europe.

The company began operating under its present name in the year 1947, when the workshop of the Wolf brothers entered government ownership.

The company produced its first dehydrated soups in the year 1957. Since then, Podravka Soups have been a recognizable part of the Podravka assortment, as well as a name that sym-bolizes quality.

One year following the production of the first Podravka Soups, in 1958 the Podravka team of experts, led by Prof. Zlata Bartl, invented Vegeta — Podravka’s most famous brand, which is sold today in over 40 countries throughout the world.

In the year 1967, exports of Vegeta began to the Hungar-ian and Russian markets. Therefore, this was the year when Podravka’s products were first sold on foreign markets.

In 1972, Podravka developed its other basic area of opera-tions - pharmaceuticals - and established the company of Belupo.

In 1981, the Belupo Drug and Cosmetic Factory was built within the framework of the Danica industrial zone in Ko-privnica.

In the year 1993, Podravka was registered as a joint stock company. In 1998, Podravka’s shares entered the quotation of the Zagreb Stock Market.

In 1997, a major investment cycle began. The Vegeta Fac-tory was built in Koprivnica; the Vegeta, Soup and Powdered Products Factory was built in Poland; the Belupo Factory was built in Koprivnica and an SAP information system was imple-mented that links all company operations.

In the year 2002, Podravka made its first acquisitions - Ital-Ice in Croatia and Lagris in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The same year, a strategic alliance was made with Nestlé for the sale and distribution of that company’s products on the markets of southeastern Europe.

In the year 2003, the new Podravka Foods Factory was opened in Koprivnica.

In 2004, Belupo opened a new factory in Koprivnica for the manufacture of semisolid and liquid medicines valued at 10 million euros.

Furthermore, besides manufacture and sales, Podravka also has strategic alliances in the region on some individual markets and distributes the products of its partners (Nestlé,

22 ukljuËujuÊi i farmaceutiku, ukupno na inozemnim tržištima ostvarila oko 1,5 milijardu kuna prihoda, što Ëini 46 posto ukupnoga Podravkinog prihoda. U usporedbi s godinom prije, to je rast prihoda na stranim tržištima od punih 20 posto, a taj se pozitivan trend nastavlja.

Snažne marke proizvoda

Podravka je tijekom godina svojega postojanja stvorila broj-ne tržišne marke koje su potrošaËi prepoznali po vrhunskoj kvaliteti. Najpoznatije su Podravka, kao krovna marka, te Vegeta, univerzalni dodatak jelima koji se prodaje u više od 40 zemalja svijeta. Snagu marke Vegeta, meu ostalim, dokazuje i nagrada Superbrand Polska koju je Vegeta dobila kao jedna od najjaËih marki u Poljskoj u konkurenciji 1200 potrošaËkih marki.

KljuËna uloga pridaje se zaposlenicima koji, zahvaljujuÊi svo-jim znanjima i vještinama, kompaniju Ëine prepoznatljivom meu konkurencijom i uspješnijom na tržištu. Podravka je tako, u suradnji s Ekonomskim fakultetom iz Zagreba, 2003. godine utemeljila Podravkinu menadžersku akademiju (PO-MAK) kojoj je cilj razvoj, stjecanje i nadopuna menadžerskih znanja i vještina njezinih zaposlenika.

Podravka je takoer poËetkom 2004. godine, u suradnji s Leeds Metropolitan University, zapoËela s novim meunarodnim programom usmjerenim stjecanju najnovijih znanja iz po-druËja retailinga važnih za našu industriju.

Osnovna djelatnost Belupa jest proizvodnja i prodaja farma-ceutskih pripravaka i kozmetiËkih proizvoda, a organiziran je kao dioniËko društvo (d.d.) sa sjedištem u Koprivnici, u stopostotnom Podravkinu vlasništvu.

Organizacijom i naËinom rada kompanija se prilagoava su-vremenim naËinima poslovanja na domaÊem i na stranom tržištu.

Over the years, Podravka has created numerous brands and trademarks that are recognized by customers for their high quality. The most famous Podravka brands are Podravka, as the general trademark, and Vegeta, the all-purpose season-ing that is sold in over 40 countries around the world. The strength of the Vegeta brand was confirmed by the Super-brand of Poland Award, which Vegeta received as one of the strongest brands in Poland in competition with 1,200 other brands.

In addition, Podravka has other well-known product brands, such asPodravka Soups - soups with forty years of tradition,Lino - the most popular brand of children’s food in the region of southeastern Europe,Dolcela - sweet powdered products,Kviki - snack programStudena - natural spring water,Studenac - natural mineral water,Fant - seasoningLagris - rice and legume-based foods, and many others.

Employees, Our Most Valuable Assets

Our employees are our most valuable company assets. Po-dravka currently employs approximately 7,500 persons.

A key role is given to our employees, whose knowledge and skills have distinguished the company among the competi-tion and made it more successful on the market. Podravka, in cooperation with the College of Economics in Zagreb, estab-lished the Podravka Managers’ Academy (POMAK) in the year 2003, with the goals of developing and supplementing the managerial knowledge and the skills of our employees.

Likewise, at the beginning of the year 2004, in cooperation with Leeds Metropolitan University, a new international program has begun, oriented to providing the most current knowledge in the area of retailing that is relevant to our industry.

Every year, Podravka increases investments in the education of our employees. Through the development of partnerships with leading educational institutions in Croatia and other countries, Podravka strives to maintain a leading role in cre-ating educational programs for all its employees.

Belupo

The basic activity at Belupo is the manufacture and sale of pharmaceutical preparations and cosmetic products. It is or-ganized as a joint stock company with headquarters in Ko-privnica, and is completely owned by Podravka.

Through its organization and activities, the company is ad-justing to contemporary operations on the domestic and for-eign markets.

Podravka tijekom svojeg postojanja stalno potvruje kako je društveno odgovorna kompanija te socijalno osjetljiv part-ner. Dokaz su tomu, meu ostalim, sljedeÊe aktivnosti.

Održivi razvoj

Podravka je 2001. g. postala Ëlanicom Svjetskog savjeta za održivi razvoj - WBCSD-a (World Business Council for Sus-tainable Development). OËuvanje i razumno iskorištavanje svjetskih prirodnih resursa jedna je od temeljnih smjernica te jedan od glavnih ciljeva WBCSD-a.

Podravka je jedan od osnivaËa Hrvatskog savjeta za održivi razvoj - HRPSOR-a, u kojem kao Ëlanica Upravnog vijeÊa sudjeluje u organizaciji i provoenju akcija održivog raz-voja.

Podravka je i Ëlan VijeÊa Zajednice za zaštitu okoliša pri Hrvatskoj gospodarskoj komori koje ima utjecaj na zakono-davstvo vezano uz zaštitu okoliša.

Podravka has always affirmed itself as a socially responsible company and a socially sensitive partner. The following ex-amples provide proof of this.

Sustainable Development

In the year 2001, Podravka became a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

Podravka is one of the founders of the Croatian Council for Sustainable Development (HRPSOR), where as a member of the executive committee it participates in the organization and conducting of campaigns for sustainable development.

Podravka is also a member of the Council of Associations for Environmental Protection of the Croatian Chamber of Com-merce, which has an impact upon legislation in connection with environmental protection.

The development of ecology and the plan for environmental protection at Podravka include comprehensive and systemat-ic solutions in the sector of waste water, waste management, air pollution and ecologically acceptable manufacturing pro-cesses from raw materials to the finished product.

Principi zaštite okoliša usvojeni u Podravki implementiraju se, osim u Koprivnici, postupno i u nove cjeline kao što je Ital-Ice, te cjeline izvan Hrvatske - Lagris, Podravka Polska i druge.

Zaklada “prof. Zlata Bartl”

Ideja o osnivanju Zaklade koja bi poticala i promicala stvaralaËki, inovativni i znanstveno-istraživaËki rad stude-nata dodiplomskih i poslijediplomskih studija nastala je 2001. godine. Nit vodilja buduÊe zaklade postali su lik i djelo profesorice Zlate Bartl Ëijom je zaslugom stvorena Vegeta i koja je cijeli svoj život posvetila predanom radu u Podravki te obrazovanju i usavršavanju mlaih naraštaja. Stoga je predloženo da zaklada nosi ime - Zaklada “prof. Zlata Bartl”, što je 18. listopada 2001. godine Uprava Podravke prihvatila te na taj naËin odluËila oËuvati uspomenu na ime i djelo profesorice Zlate Bartl.

Podravka je, kao osnivaË Zaklade, uložila novËana sredstva za poËetak rada Zaklade. Sredstva Zaklade upotrebljavaju se za dodjelu stipendija i potpora redovitim studentima dodiplomskih i poslijediplomskih studija koji su državljani Republike Hrvatske.

Sponzorstva i donacije

Podravka se u svim sredinama u kojima djeluje pokazala kao poželjan socijalni partner koji vodi raËuna o društvenoj zajednici u kojoj posluje. U skladu s tim, Podravka odreena sredstva izdvaja za sponzorstva i donacije, kako bi potpomogla djelovanje raznih subjekata i udruga.

Dva su osnovna naËela Podravke u sponzorstvima:- sponzoriranje kulture radi promicanja kvalitete kulturnih

dogaanja i unapreenja života svakog graanina - sponzoriranje sportskih klubova s kojima Podravka veÊ

godinama ima sponzorske ugovore.

Podravka trenutaËno sponzorira velik broj sportskih klubova, meu kojima je i višestruki hrvatski rukometni prvak Podravka - Vegeta, koji je po svojim sportskim uspjesima poznat diljem Europe, te hrvatski nogometni prvoligaš Slaven Belupo.

Podravka podupire i novËano potpomaže rad razliËitih udruga koje su usmjerene na razvoj djece, kao što su udruge slijepih, udruge za pomoÊ osobama s mentalnom retardacijom te udruge za pomoÊ djeci sa smetnjama u razvoju, kao i rad knjižnica, kulturnih ustanova, vrtiÊa, bolnica, zavoda za javno zdravstvo te mnogih drugih.

Svjesni smo da se poslovanje ne može razvijati u društvu koje se ne razvija. Razvoj društva moguÊ je jedino suradnjom.

The Prof. Zlata Bartl Foundation

The idea for the establishment of a foundation that would promote creative, innovative and scientific research among undergraduate and graduate students originated in the year 2001. The inspiration for the foundation was the person and work of Prof. Zlata Bartl, who was responsible for creating Vegeta and whose entire life was devoted to her work at Po-dravka and the education of young people. Therefore, it was proposed that the foundation should be called the Prof. Zlata Bartl Foundation. This proposal was accepted by Podravka Management on October 18, 2001, thereby commemorating the name and work of Prof. Zlata Bartl.

Podravka, as the founder of the foundation, invested funds to set it up. The funds of the foundation are used for award-ing scholarships and support to full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are citizens of the Republic of Croa-tia.

Sponsorships and Donations

Wherever Podravka has operations, it has shown itself to be a desirable social partner that is concerned about the social community in which it does business. Accordingly, Podravka sets aside funds for sponsorship and donations, with the goal of assisting the activities of various entities and associa-tions.

There are two fundamental principles in Podravka sponsor-ship:- sponsoring of culture with the goal of promoting quality

cultural events and improving the life of each citizen,- sponsoring of sports clubs, with whom Podravka has had

sponsorship contracts for many years.

Podravka currently sponsors a large number of sports clubs, including the Croatian handball team Podravka-Vegeta, which has been the champion of Croatia several times and is known throughout Europe, and the Croatian first-league club of Slaven Belupo.

Podravka provides support and donates services to various associations that are oriented to child development, such as associations for the blind, associations for assisting mental-ly retarded persons, and associations for assisting children with developmental difficulties, as well as the work of librar-ies, cultural institutions, kindergartens, hospitals, public healthcare institutions and many others.

We are aware that operations cannot be developed in a soci-ety that is not developing. Social development is only pos-sible through cooperation.
