Readings: Job 7:1-4, 6-7, Psalm 147 “Praise the Lord, who heals the brokenhearted”, 1 Corinthians 9:16-19, 22-23, Mark 1:29-39 Parishioners & Students of St. Eugene,

It is already February and with it the resolve to live well as we reflect upon the realities that we face daily. Almost

every day we hear news of violence in schools. What is happening? Why is such violence invading our schools? What

is necessary to sustain peace? As Mother Theresa of Calcutta said, “Peace begins with a smile…” What do you need

to have peace in your life and in your home?

The Book of Job.

In the book of Job, Job gives us a sense of patience to accept God’s will in everything that happens. But if we read the

book of Job from Job 1:1---42:1-17, we will realize the history of Job is an account of the people of Israel who are

lost in the turmoil of infidelities with the Law of God. As we read Job, he was not someone who accepted everything

from God without questioning. He questioned himself and his friends questioned him. However, even in the ques-

tions, Job is calling to the people of Israel to return to God. Even in the suffering or in the desperation the book of Job

is an invitation to be persistent with the Lord, and never lose a glance of his presence among us.

The ministry of Jesus.

By studying the gospels in the bible every day or listening by the apps, we are amazed at how the people of Jesus’

time wanted to listen and be cured by him. As the people of the areas where Jesus lived and ministered by him, they

still wanted to be close to him, but not only this, they wanted to retain him in the region where he was. However, Je-

sus is not someone to behold in a place, because he himself says to his disciples, “Let us go on to the nearby villages

that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I come." (Mk. 1:38).

May God bless each of us on your journey.

God Our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son’s

Kingdom as sisters, brothers, religious priest, consecrated virgins, and hermits, as well as members of Secular Institutes. Renew their Knowledge and love of you, and send your

Holy Spirit to help them respond generously And courageously to your will. We asked this Though our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and Reigns with you and Holy Spirit, one God,

For ever and ever. Amen.

generosamente y valientemente a tu voluntad.
