    Ethernet is the future standard for communica-tion at the factory oor. The VLT EtherNet/IPMCA 121 is based on the newest technologyavailable for industrial use and handles eventhe most demanding requirements. EtherNet/IP extends commercial off-the-shelf Ethernetto the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) thesame upper-layer protocol and object modelfound in DeviceNet.

    High exibility and low cost are two of thecornerstones for CANopen. The VLT CANopenMCA 105 option for the Auto mationDrive isfully equipped with both high priority access tocontrol and status of the Drive (PDO Commu-nication) and access to all Parameters throughacyclic data (SDO Communication).

    The VLT MCA 121 offers advanced features as: Built-in high performance switch enablingline-topology, and eliminating the need forexternal switches

    The VLT EtherCAT MCA 124 offers connectivityto EtherCAT based networks via the EtherCATProtocol. The option handles the EtherCAT line commu-nication in full speed, and connection towardsthe drive of a Interval down to 4 ms in both di-rections. This allows the MCA124 to participatein networks from low performance up to servoapplications.

    The option protects the motor from beingoverheated by monitoring the bearings andwindings temperature in the motor. Both limitsas well action are adjustable, and the individualsensor temperature is visible as a read-out onthe display or by eldbus.

    VLT Safe Option MCB 140 Series are safety op-

    tions providing Safe Stop 1 (SS1), Safely LimitedSpeed (SLS) and Safe Speed Monitor (SSM)functionallity. The options can be used up to PLe according to ISO 13849-1.

    MCB140 is a standard B-Option while MCB141offers the same functionallity in an external45 mm housing. MCB141 enables the user touse the MCB140 functionallity also if anotherB-Option is used.

    The VLT Safe Option MCB 150 Series expandsthe Safe Torque Off STO function, which isintegrated in a standard VLT AutomationDrive.By using the Safe Stop 1 function it i s possibleto perform a controlled stop before removingtorque. Using the Safely Limited Speed SLSfunction it is also able to monitor whether aspecied speed is exceeded. The functions canbe used up to PL d according to EN ISO 13849and SIL 2 according to IEC 61508.

    Energy generated during braking is absorbedby the resistors, protecting electrical compo-nents from heating up. Danfoss brake resistorsare optimized for the FC-series and generalversions for horizontal and vertical applicationsare available.

    Easy, effective harmonic distortion reduction byconnecting the AHF 005/010 harmonic lter infront of a Danfoss frequency converter.

    AHF 005 reduces total harmonic currentdistortion to 5%AHF 010 reduces total harmonic currentdistortion to 10%

    VLT B in C Option Adapter MCF 106

    VLT Common Mode Filters

    The B in C Option Adapter can be placed inthe Option C slot and allows for combinationof two different B options - either by placingboth in the MCF 106 or by placing one in thestandard slot B of the Control Card and one inthe MCF 106.

    Common mode lters are placed betweenthe frequency converter and the motor. They are nano-crystalline cores that mitigatehigh frequency noise in the motorcable (shielded or unshielded) and reducebearing currents in the motor.

    Extend motor bearing lifetime

    VLT Relay Card MCB 105 and VLT PTC Thermis-tor Card MCB 112 are not supported by theadapter and must thus only be installed in thestandard slot B of the Control Card.
