DESCRIPTION

Description: The internet of things has seen the number of connected devices skyrocket in the last few years. But being connected does not mean that the devices have content that people want to actually see, use, and experience. We will explore the trend of using centralized content delivery systems to drive the internet of things and provide compelling experiences for all.

Where are we going?

In the modern day fresh content is driven by a singular content source.

Presented  by:  Tomas  PuigTwi/er:    @tnpuig#ecothings

Where are we going?

I believe open source is the answer!

And WordPress will be coming out and serving even more audiences and devices.

Presented  by:  Tomas  PuigTwi/er:    @tnpuig#ecothings

Where are we going?

Open source is making inroads into larger groups often for a fairly simple reason.

That’s a whole lot of users already trained on a CMS. User acceptance is easy.

Where are we going?

So initial content is now created first in open source CMS’. Then will drive to the connected device

world.

Where are we going?

During the talk if you were there this is where i told the funny story of prototyping a smart dog bowl in

six hours. I used Arduino, analog sensors, SensorMonkey, WordPress, and Good Barber.

(It was a good story)

SensorMonkey - sensormonkey.eeng.nuim.ieMoving Arduino sensor systems into the cloud, then

into WordPress.
