Based on the current assessment that the solution will have a straightforward regulatory pathway, Cordio anticipates time to market to be about 12 months.
CHF Deterioration Process
CHF is a chronic, progressive condition in which the heart pumps inefficiently.
If left untreatedfluids accumulate in air sacs
If not well-controlledfluid accumulates around lungs
Cordio solution provides early alert on CHF deterioration and allows simple treatment before the appearance of symptoms
CHF Symptoms are fatigue, shortness of breath, swelling, and they appear after fluids were accumulated in air sacs. At this stage aggressive treatment and hospitalisation are almost unavoidable.
• CHF affects ~10% of 65+ population and In England ~0.85% of the population are CHF diagnosed patients (~500,000)
• 50% of CHF patients die within 5 years of diagnosis• Once diagnosed, CHF patient will be hospitalised ~2 times a year (in average)• Reduction of 30% in hospitalisation is an immediate achievable task
• Device-free, non-invasive, mobile monitoring solution for CHF patients• Alerts on-time to CHF deterioration through free speech into a smartphone app• Dramatically reduces healthcare costs and saves lives
Cordio Technology, How Does it Work ?
An automated real-time voice-analysis workflow detects early build-up of fluids in the patient’s lungs before the appearance of physical symptoms
Patient’s voice is captured by the Smartphone Appand sent for analysis (cloud)
Alerts are generated oncepre-defined threshold is crossed 1 2 3
• A personal baseline of voice features is created as the patient uses the Cordio app. • Unacceptable deviations this baseline trigger early alerts to CHF deterioration.• These alerts permit home- or clinic-based medical intervention that could prevent hospitalisation
