The annual meeting of fellows and members will be held at2.30 P.M. on Wednesday, Dec. 10. A symposium on teachingpostgraduate surgery will be held from 9.30 A.M. to 1 P.M. onthe same day, and at 4.30 P.M. Mr Ronald Raven will give aBradshaw lecture entitled Oncology-Attainment and Anticipation. Inquiry into Preventive Medicine
The Social Services and Employment Sub-Committee of theHouse of Commons Expenditure Committee (chairman, MrsRenee Short) is embarking on an inquiry into preventive medicine, and would be glad to have the views of interested individuals and organisations. British Association for Psychopharmacology
The next scientific meeting will be held on Nov. 6 at theRoyal Society of Medicine, London. Individual papers will bepresented on behavioural, experimental, and clinical aspects ofpsychopharmacology, and Prof. R. G. Grenell (Baltimore) willspeak on membranes, molecules, and memory. Children's Hospital, Sheffield

The Exeter Postgraduate Medical Institute with the Language Centre, University of Exeter, are to be the base for aone-year study of the language difficulties of overseas doctorsand possible remedies. The investigation is to be supported bythe Nuffield Foundation.
