Best Moment of my Life: Aged 12, running solo with Peter Snell at Lawrence, Central Otago.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Since leaving my French family, (from my first marriage), from New Caledonia in late 1976, I have been mainly self-employed principally in property developments and mining related businesses.

Between 1988 and 1996 my jade mining and manufacturing business in South Westland was very successful untilParliament enacted policies that vested all nephrite jade minerals to Te Runanga O Ngai Tahu and my current miningrights were extinguished.During this period I personally discovered vast new jade reserves under the Mining Acts and expended over $2 millionin the process of exploration, mining licenses and business development in the region only to have everything takenaway from me,without any compensation from the Crown, whatsoever.

Having property development interests most of my adult life, I moved to Golden Bay and developed two propertiesthere with a two year break in Australia as manager of three motel/apartment complex’s.

I consider I have a wealth of experience in social and family situations having come from a large family myself, andliving within a large family unit in New Caledonia.

Since year 2000, I have been caregiver and guardian to my two nieces now aged 22 and 24 years.

As motel - apartment manager in Australia, I was also regularly involved in various mediation and social issuesinvolving cliental and their various personal and business relationships and situations.

As well as the skills listed in the previous positions of employment, I have a sound general knowledge and experiencein computer technology and software, IT, HR, general engineering, building and construction, concreting, electricaland plumbing, motor mechanics, architectural design, photography, accounting, business management and marketing.

Being an independent self-motivated person, I have always endeavoured to create an enjoyable ambience in both myrecreational and working environments.

I find problem solving challenging and very rewarding on accomplishment, in effect that I always learn somethingnew in the process.I try to undertake any task to the best of my ability and believe strongly in perfection to the highest degree possiblewith the resources available.

During my life I have always looked for a challenge and have accomplished many rewarding things with an attitude ofperseverance.I try to approach life with optimism and an attitude of “nothing is impossible”.Motivation and the ability to listen and learn, I find are key factors in self-achievement.

Considering myself as a dedicated entrepreneur and idealistic leader, I enjoy analysing business operations andcontributing suggestions or remedies to aid their further development and viability.

When placed in an employee or contractual situation, my loyalty to the employer is paramount.Without this relationship I would not be able to accomplish the things I enjoy doing.
