1. Pioneer in the research study on Paragonimus and paragonimiasis in India.

2. Recommended phenol glycerol solution for preservation of Paragonimus

eggs in sputum.

3. Recommended Praziquantel therapy for five days instead of three days for

pulmonary paragonimiasis to avoid relapse.

4. Discovered new Paragonimus species namely P. heterotremus, P. miyazaki

manipurinus, P. macroorchis, P. huei’tungensis, and P. skrjabini in

Manipur, India. (Southeast Asian J Trop Med Health 2006; 37(suppl 3): 53-

5. Identified Potamiscus manipurensis as natural crab host of Paragonimus
