the Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies network supporting this associated World DignityUniversity initiative that aims to co-create a sustainable forest management in the Amazon withthe Kichwa indigenous community of Rio Blanco, Ecuador, through Participatory ActionResearch (PAR). Fieldwork among the Embera-Wounaan and Kuna communities located in the project area to undertakeinterviews, focus group, and dialogue sessions in the local indigenous congresses. Briefings andpresentations to the donor and project staff on main constraint and opportunities found, suggestingrecommendations and raising awareness on the intimate link between gender and culture within thetarget population, to be considered for the strategy and good relationships among parties to unfold.Security and protection aspects of the population were at the core of the strategy, given the closeness tothe border with Colombia and the exposure to armed groups from the neighbor country.

Senior Adviser to CaribInvest (West Indies) Ltd. on whole-systemapproach to sustainable regional Caribbean development and international partnership building,suggesting the integration of environmental, socioeconomic, and cultural aspects in project scoping,design, implementation, and follow up mechanisms. For Haiti case, advised on developing a nature-human partnership approach to poverty reduction, on adopting a full-spectrum eco-innovation strategy,and the honouring of native capabilities and indigenous drivers. Panama. “Strategic Plan for the Rio IndioWatershed Integrated Management”, as part of the Regional Program for the Reduction of theEnvironmental Vulnerability and Degradation (PREVDA). Technical direction of the project andleader of a multidisciplinary team of six experts, budget administration, report writing, presentationsand liaison with the national/regional/local governments, leading field trips and local workshops in thearea for continuous trust-building and accountability with the communities, giving presentations toNGOs as potential partners for the implementation, building organizational capacity and environmentalawareness at local level through leadership training, coordinating with international donors acting inthe area for mutual cooperation. The resulting watershed management plan was evaluated by the clientas the best one presented in the Central American Region.
