-Increase efficiency of research projects by performing and optimizing standard procedures such as DNA extractions, PCR, gel electrophoreses, etc.; I also have experience teaching these protocols to others.
- Consistently keep detailed records of procedures, as well as manage data.
-Directed the progress of an independent project by selecting the optimal reagents to order in the necessary amount, as well as long-term planning through designing a project timeline.
August 2015- Present: Undergraduate researcher, Croatt Research Group, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Greensboro, NC. Advisor: Dr. Mitch Croatt
-Plan multiple step syntheses by reading through literature and identifying useful reactions.
-Carry out reactions based on the information from the experimental section of peer-reviewed articles, and also use techniques such as NMR, TLC, and column chromatography.
-Keep very detailed notes concerning reagents, amounts, reaction conditions, as well as notes concerning the progress of reactions.
