Brief description of your last thesis/dissertation:

Final LL.M. thesis entitled: “The effects of international drug trafficking on the global economy. The role of banks

in the money laundering”:

The purpose of my LL.M. thesis is to bring general overview of the current situation of the drug trafficking

worldwide, with an analysis of the most important routes of drugs, the methods of administration and transportation

as well as the relationship between illegal drug trade and organized crime groups. Moreover the goal of this thesis is

analyze the role and the power of the drug market on the global economy and the international tools to prevent this

phenomenon. Particular attention is dedicated to banks involved in money laundering cases from drug trafficking

activities and the major recent scandals related to this crime.

and magazine, “Eccellenze Italiane”, to support the publication of a special

edition dedicated to the UN System’s participation at Expo Milano 2015. The

magazine includes information on the UN theme, “The Zero Hunger Challenge •

United for a sustainable world”, and related issues including a feature on women

and their fundamental role in agriculture and the fight against hunger. A print

edition will be distributed during the three UN Days at Expo Milano.

Fund-raising activities to help

earthquake’s victims in

L’Aquila (Italy)

Due to the earthquake in my hometown L’Aquila, on April 2009, I participated

actively in the creation of the ONLUS “L’Aquila – Fino all’ultima pietra”.

Actually I’m also cooperating with the international ONLUS

“Savelaquilaproject”, working as a volunteer to develop first-aid program

looking to rebuild the ancient city, worldwide heritage.

Contribute to the preparation of speeches done by the Representative of UNODC Colombia at the opening

ceremony of the events;

Request and coordinate with the purchase department, the acquisition of elements needed for the implementation

of events, such as certificates, pens, amongst others;

Request and monitor, along with the UNODC/Colombia administrative pool, the booking of air tickets for experts

and participants in events as well as the coordination with international experts in order to confirm the location of

itineraries and round trip air tickets for their travels;

Coordinate with relevant national entities related logistic aspects for any event;

Elaboration of financial overview of costs incurred in the organization of the workshops;

Assisting and supporting the running of the workshops;

Participate in meetings with the Colombian and International authorities (Colombian Ministry of Justice,

OEA/CICTE, EUROPOL, INTERPOL, EUROJUST, Diplomatic representations, and other UN agencies);

Participate in other meetings convened by the Area of Justice and Security of UNODC Colombia, as well as all

those organized by the UNODC/Terrorism Prevention Branch in Vienna.

In Colombia I worked as a Project Consultant at the United

Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), as a foreign

news reporter for the newspaper “El Espectador” and as a

professor of italian language and culture at the “Societá

Dante Aligheri – Comité de Bogotá”.

In Bogotá I also attended a Summer school in Human

Rights and International Humanitarian Law at the

University Sergio Arboleda, a Course in Monitoring and

Evaluation of Humanitarian Projects at the National

University of Colombia, and an advanced English course at

the “Centro Colombo Americano” of Bogotá. I also

collaborated with the news radio-network “UN Radio”

(official radio of the National University of Colombia), with
