Position: Job shadowing – Afrox Marketing and Events
In this position I learned good communication skills, computer skills, team work, time
management and assisted with compiling advertising material for a marketing campaign. I
attended several marketing strategic planning meetings, both with internal and external
stakeholders. I experienced the corporate world first hand as I got to work with the Marketing
Manager and assisted her with her daily duties.

Position: Social Media Marketer
Position requirements: Handling all posts on Genesis’ Facebook page including
posting daily motivational posts, posting and sharing regularly
about upcoming events. Partake in marketing meetings that
involves analyzing the Facebook page’s progress (analyzing
post shares, likes and comments, views, total reach (organic)
and new page likes) and discussing where possible
opportunities and threats lie and how to implement any new
creative ideas.

Position: Marketing Assistant
Position Requirements: Managing all social media platforms including Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn This includes but is not limited
to creating and posting content weekly, creating reports and
analysis of the content on the different platforms and
understanding the trends of the markets of the different
platforms.
Researching all possible advertising channels including
magazines relative to the industry, online banners,
sponsorships, website and e-mail advertising.
Creating and designing all local product brochures as well as
designing new logos and images. Creating and designing
monthly mailshots, writing creating content for articles and
advertisements.
Managing all promotional items and brochures, which includes
generating quotes, ordering and keeping stock, and the
delivery to and from events.
Liaising with the international; head office about marketing
activities such as promotions, marketing material, opportunities
in the market, understanding the South African market,
creating content and sales generation.
Planning and coordinating participation of all events and
exhibitions (such as Nampo, Royal Agricultural Show,
WasteCon, Interbilt Trucking Festival, Turf Day and golf days)
as well as our annual dealer sales conference. This includes
all research, bookings, generating quotes and orders,
coordinating marketing material and advertising, planning
transport, budgets and reports and liaising with clients on the
day.
Supporting sales representatives in terms of all marketing
material, information of clients, generating information of
possible leads and updating their databases as well as the
master database.
Organizing and updating administrative tasks such as order
acknowledgement forms, quotes, delivery notes, price lists,
stock lists, client database, business cards and all marketing
material.
