การประชมใหญครงประวตศาสตรนเปนไปอยางยงใหญ สรางความประทบใจแกผมารวมงานเปนอยางยง เปนการสรางประวตศาสตรหนาใหมของวงการโรตารไทยทเราทกคนตางภาคภมใจ ในสวนของภาค 3360 เรากได เปนสวนชวยผลกดนใหจ านวนผเขารวมประชมใหญในสวนของประเทศไทยไดผานเกณฑรอยละ 50 ของจ านวนโรแทเรยนไทยทงหมดทลงทะเบยนกอนเสนตายแรก(first deadline)ทท าใหโรแทเรยนไทยทงหมดไดรบสวนลด 40 เหรยญสหรฐคนกลบมา เพราะในชวงนนเปนชวงทประเทศไทยเราอยในสภาวะน าทวมใหญ กจกรรมการประชมของภาคอนทไดรบผลกระทบจากน าทวมท าใหจ านวนผลงทะเบยนหยดนงลง ภาค 3360 เราถงแมวาจะลงทะเบยนเปนจ านวนนอยทสดในบรรดา 4 ภาค แตกเปนตวเลขทเปนสวนส าคญทท าใหจ านวนผ ลงทะเบยนของไทยเราผานเกณฑ เพราะในชวงนนสภาวะน าทวมไดคลคลายจากภาค 3360 เราไปแลว จงสามารถรณรงคไดเตมท นบเปนความภาคภมใจในผลงานอยางหนงของภาค 3360 เรา

จากทกลาวมาแลววาเราจะไดรบสวนลดจ านวน 40 เหรยญสหรฐคนมานน ผมมความคดทอยากจะเสนอตอมวลมตรโรแทเรยนภาค 3360 ของเราเพอพจารณาวา เรานาจะถอโอกาสนสร างกจกรรมหรอโครงการประวตศาสตรของภาคเราขน เพราะจ านวนเงน 40 เหรยญสหรฐหรอคดเปนเงนไทยประมาณ 1,200 บาทนน จะวามากกมากแตหากเมอเทยบกบสถานะและศกยภาพของโรแทเรยนเราแลวกไมนาจะเปนจ านวนมากนก แตเงนจ านวนนสามารถสรางกจกรรมหรอโครงการประวตศาสตรทย งใหญได

Fellow D3360 Rotarians,

I am delighted to greet all of you once again with the May 2012 newsletter. This issue has been delayed because of my intention to write you after the successful completion of the Bangkok convention. As well, during the pre-convention period, 90% of my time was allocated to attending to both domestic and international convention inquiries and other correspondence. Now that all the information and official statistics are available, I can write.

This magnificent convention impressed all delegates tremendously. This convention created a new chapter in Thai Rotary history of which we all can be proud.

Our District 3360 mission was to help to increase the number of participants from Thailand to reach the minimum registration requirement of 50 percent before the first deadline so that all Thai Rotarians could receive a discount of US$40. During the registration period Thailand was affected by serious flooding, so some Rotary club meetings and activities were seriously disrupted. The total number of district registrants was low, the lowest among all four districts, but the minimum requirement was met! We should be proud of our achievement! Now, I wish to propose to all District 3360 Rotarians to consider taking this money to develop more activities or a new project. The value of US$40 (1,200 Baht) may be meaningful to some of us, but it will have much more value generating more activities or a new project.

As you may know, half of our donations to Annual Program Fund of The Rotary Foundation will revert back to our district and clubs. We can use these funds to extend a project, such as District Grant or Global Grant. I thus think that if we donate the registration refunds to the Annual Program

อยางไรกตามเนองจากเรองนเปนเรองทเกยวของกบเงนๆทองๆซงเปนของบาดใจ หากอธบายไมดหรอไมไดรบการยอมรบอยางเปนเอกฉนทแลวกจะเกดปญหาตามมาอยางมากมาย ในชนนผมจงอยากขอใหนายกสโมสรและมวลมตรโรแทเรยนทกทานไดหารอกนเพอสอบถามความเหน หากเหนดวยกนเปนเอกฉนทผมกจะด าเนนการตอ แตหากมเสยงไมเหนดวยหรอคดคานกจะยตแนวคดนดวยเหตผลดงกลาวทวาเงนทองเปนของบาดใจนนเอง แตผมอยากฝากใหพจารณาวานาจะเปนโอกาสอนดทจะเรา รวมกนบ าเพญประโยชน ดงค าขวญทเปนทางการของมลนธโรตาร “ท าความดใหแกโลก(Doing Good to the World)” ครบ

Fund, we will get double the value since half of our funds will be used to assist all mankind and the other half will increase our District Designated Fund after the required three years during the year of DGN Anusorn Khunanusorn. We may plan and generate together some meaningful activities or special projects in honor of the memorable District 3360 participation in the Rotary International convention.

Discussing money is, of course, a sensitive issue. There must be a proper explanation made and unanimous commitment since unexpected problems might occur in the future. Accordingly, I would like to ask all club presidents and Rotarians to discuss and seek opinions on this proposal. If we agree unanimously, I will pursue it. If not, I will withdraw this proposal. My final wish is that you will consider this great opportunity for us for “Doing Good in the World," The Rotary Foundation motto.

My dear brothers and sisters in Rotary,

When we talk about building membership, we all recognize that welcoming a new member into a Rotary club is only the beginning of our task. To turn a new club member into a committed Rotarian, much more is necessary – and the first step is helping that new member to get involved.

Every Rotarian in every club should know that he or she is not only needed but relied upon. Every Rotarian should have a job within the club – a role to play. After all, why are we in Rotary? We are here to make a difference. Yes, we enjoy our Rotary service, but that is not enough if we are to make Rotary a priority week after week, year after year. The knowledge that we are having an impact, that we are changing lives – that is what keeps us going, no matter what other demands may compete for our time. And this is why each one of us, however long we have been in Rotary, must always be striving to grow as Rotarians – to find new ways to help others, and to bring about all the positive change we possibly can. For this, more than anything, is what makes our Rotary service worthwhile.

Whether we are new members or old ones, each of us can find ways to become more involved in Rotary service – at the club level, the district level, and beyond. Rotarian Action Groups are a wonderful opportunity to put specific expertise or interests to work, in a way that brings Rotarians from every part of the Rotary world together for a common goal. Whether your passion is water and sanitation issues, or microcredit, or blindness prevention – whether you want to volunteer your dental skills or help organize blood drives – chances are there is a Rotarian Action Group for you. And if not, why not organize one yourself? You can learn more about Rotarian Action Groups at www.rotary.org/actiongroups.

ท าส งด ๆ ในโลกไดมากขน ดวยทนสนบสนนแบบใหมเมอเรวๆน

ผมไดพบกบบรรดาโรแทเรยนผมหนาทตดตอประสาน งานกบทานในปทจะมาถงนเกยวกบทนสนบสนนรปแบบใหม ภายใตแผนวสยทศนอนาคต ผมจ าไดวา เคยรองขอใหภาคทยงมไดเปนภาคน ารอง ไดพจารณากาวขนมารบแผนนไว ดวยความเชอมนในการมงพฒนามลนธของเรา เพออนาคตขางหนา ซงเปนการยากทจะเขาใจ ใหยอมรบการเปลยนแปลง หากทานไมทราบรายละเอยดเพยงพอ

With our new grant model, we can do more good in the world

I recently met with a number of Rotarians who will be responsible for communicating with you in the coming year about our new grant model under the Future Vision Plan. I recognize that we are asking the nonpilot districts to make a considerable leap of faith in the development of our Rotary Foundation for the future. It is difficult to understand and accept the changes when you do not know the details.

Why Future Vision? So that we can do more good in the world and use our resources in the best way possible. We needed to change our Foundation, as we were facing major challenges. We had to simplify. If this meant that we had to move away from some of our “feel good” activities, we were prepared to do so. Doing good was a greater priority, and when we do good, feeling good follows.

This is not somebody else’s plan. The starting point was the responses of the thousands of Rotarians who presented their views. One of the direct results is the six areas of focus. These are where Rotarians want to serve.

Almost all of the pilot districts say their Rotary is stronger because of Future Vision. They like the greater opportunity to make their own decisions with district grants. Sometimes building sustainability into global grants has been a challenge, but the pilot districts understand the importance, and our helpful staff can and do assist.

What do I ask of you? To get your district structure in place so that you are ready for 1 July 2013, and to please be patient as we make our new Foundation as effective and productive as it can possibly be. If you can wait just a little longer, you will enjoy the new opportunities.

By the time you read this newsletter, the RotaryInternational Convention held at the Impact Exhibition & Convention Center during

6‐9 May has come to an end. It was the biggest Rotary event ever being held in Thailand.

If you were the first‐time attendee, you would begin to have experience which gave you inspiration, information and resources including motivation to get your club moved forward.

Hopefully you attended the Opening Ceremony which was a must, enjoyed yourself at the House

of Friendship and attended the break‐out sessions, all of which contributing to both friendship and experience in internationality of Rotary more than expected. The friendship eventually leads to services in the future.

The RI Convention came to a close but the task of the Rotary Centre in Thailand is going on. This Rotary year, many RI documents/manuals are translated for Thai Rotarians to learn more of Rotary and prepare for the upcoming District Assembly (DA). We’ll see you at DA to help in any way including to provide information as usual.

ตามทภาค 3360 จะจดการประชมประจ าป เพออบรมเจาหนาทสโมสร ป 2555-2556 ณ โรงแรมล าปางเวยงทอง จ.ล าปาง ในวนเสารท 2 –วนอาทตย 3 มถนายน 2555 จงขอน าความรเกยวกบการอบรมดงกลาว มาเรยนใหทราบ โดยทวกนโดยค านงถงการผลดเปลยนความเปนผน าประจ าปในแตละป จงก าหนดใหผน าสโมสรกวา 34,000 สโมสร ไดรบการอบรมอยางเหมาะสมเกยวกบภาระงานตางๆ ทจะตองปฏบต การประชมประจ าปเพออบรมเจาหนาทสโมสรจงเปนการประชมส าคญส าหรบเจาหนาทสโมสรรบเลอก

District Assembly

District 3360 will hold its annual district assembly at the Lampang Wiengthong Hotel, Lampang, from Saturday, 2 June through Sunday, 3 June 2012. The event is arranged to prepare incoming club leaders for their 2012-2013 year in office. Every year club leaders from more than 34,000 clubs are replaced. It is therefore necessary that they are properly prepared to perform their various responsibilities.

The district assembly will give the incoming club leaders information on Rotary, offer inspiration and motivation, and develop new management concepts. Experienced district leaders will give presentations regarding Rotary administration, projects and activities. Guidance at the district assembly will propose to incoming club leaders new ideas to improve their clubs and how to work more efficiently. Normally, 8-10 representatives from each club are invited to attend the assembly.

The district assembly provides an opportunity for the district governor-elect to present the new Rotary theme as well as to introduce the incoming Rotary International president. Participants will be informed of district objectives for future implementation.

Every club should hold its own club assembly right after the district assembly, and not later than July 1, to outline its yearly club work plans as per the guidelines suggested and discussed at the district assembly. This will enable the district assembly to fully assist all clubs in the district to achieve their goals successfully.

ผานไปแลวนะครบส าหรบงาน 2012 Bangkok RI Convention ซงถอวาเปนครงประวตศาสตรทไมวาโรแทเรยนในประเทศไทย ในฐานะเจาภาพครงแรกและโรแทเรยนกวา 35,000 คนจากทกมมโลก ผมเองกไดมโอกาสไปรวมงาน ซงกถอเปนครงแรกทได รวมงาน RI Convention ในหลายๆ พธการ ผมรสกตนเตนและภาคภมใจทโรแทเรยนในประเทศไทยในฐานะเจาภาพ และคณะกรรมการ HOC ไดจดงานขนอยางนาประทบใจ มการเตรยมงานและสถานททเพยบพรอม ตางชาตไดแสดงความชนชมและสนใจในกจกรรมตางๆ ในชวงการประชม

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

RI Convention 2012 Bangkok was an historic one that attracted more than 35,000 attendees from 181 countries and geographical areas around the world. It was the first Rotary convention for me, and it was a wonderful and exciting experience. As a citizen and Rotarian of the host country, I am very proud of the Host Organizing Committee which was very well-organized and impressed me and other Rotarians so much.

Throughout the convention there were many activities and great speakers from Rotary and other organizations, such as UNICEF and Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the founder of Grameen Bank and 2006 Nobel Peace Prize recipient. In addition to the plenary sessions, we also learnt from many experts and skillful speakers in the breakout sessions on about 50 topics included Water and Sanitation, Peace, Memberships, New Generations, and the importance of Rotaract.

Thailand’s Biggest Smile at the Impact Arena for Ripley’s Believe It Or Not was created by 2012 participating Rotarians! This event was sensational for us and received major media coverage in Thailand and beyond. A photo also appeared in many media giving excellent exposure to Rotary's image globally.

The House of Friendship had an utterly impressive atmosphere. It nestled among the blossoms of a flower garden decorated in exquisite style. A wide variety of well-known restaurants in Bangkok were there. Rotarians very much enjoyed the booths and presentations, the shows, and it was the meeting place for us and Rotarians from around the world.

Host Hospitality Night is one of the highlights of every RI Convention. In the evening of May 7th in Hall 4 there was a night of fellowship hosted by Thai Rotarians with all enjoying a variety of Thai and international food. There were two stages at both ends of the long hall to present Thai cultural shows and Thai dances throughout three hours.

May is a very hot month. May 2012 was also the month which all Rotarians in Thailand have been awaiting for almost 10 years for the great opportunity to be the host of the Rotary International convention. It was a very successful event with a lot of exhausted Thai host Rotarians welcoming and hosting friends from all around the world.

There were many booths for the different Rotary fellowships in the “House of Friendship," such as the Rotarian Doctors Fellowship and International Travel and Hosting Fellowship. In Rotary year 2012 - 2013, DGN Anuruk Napawan wants to see the inauguration of some fellowships in our district, so at the district assembly on 2-3 June he has entrusted PP Siriluck Chaiwong to set up a spot for registration of any Rotarians who want to be members of some fellowships, such as cycling, diving, hiking, trekking, golf, and traveling. My personal interests are diving and golf, but it is quite far to go to the sea so golf is the most suitable fellowship.

During the convention I had a chance to dine with a Rotarian from Taiwan with whom I used to play golf. He introduced me to the other Taiwan golfers, and they promised to come back in February 2013 for a friendly golf match. They also invited Thai golfers to visit Taiwan for golf and to tighten friendships there as well. I can say that meeting on the golf course has in part been important to the success of many service projects, both club and district. Getting together to play a round of golf is a good way to discover common interests in a relaxing and entertaining setting. Becoming a member of any fellowship can work the same way.

At the district assembly don’t forget to register for the district funds for the Non-Lead-Pot Project and Thai Dictionary Project. If your club is interested in the Mobile Water Filter Project or Dictionary Project, please provide your club’s name and note the required amount of filters and dictionaries. I will then co-ordinate with Rotarians in charge of these projects.

Dear Club Presidents and Fellow Rotarians,

I expect that everyone is proud of the Bangkok Rotary International convention. The overall arrangements for the convention were wonderful.

In the convention hall, there were many great speakers who talked about their useful experience and provided advice. One of those was Dr. Bruce Aylward, Assistant Director-General for Polio, Emergencies and Country Collaboration, of the World Health Organization. He talked about the implementation of the End Polio Now project in India. That was a successful project resulting in no evidence of polio in Indian children for one year. The successful implementation of the project in India serves as a model to be followed in three remaining polio-endemic countries: Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nigeria.

He praised Rotary International for partnering with CDC, WHO, and UNICEF in eradicating polio. In India, Indian Rotarians engaged government and public companies to support funding to administer polio vaccine to Indian children.

However, in countries where polio has been eradicated, for instance, Uzbekistan and Indonesia, evidence of polio in children is increasing. This can happen because children might be infected by people in other countries where polio is still widespread. RI announced that such countries should announce an emergency, and that polio vaccination should continue to be administered.

The 2012 Bangkok Rotary International Convention has concluded and has been complimented as the grandest and most beautiful convention as well as for its warm friendly atmosphere. On behalf of Thai Rotarians, I was very proud of convention arrangements. The appreciation of all Rotarians who joined in the event as well as non-Rotarians delighted me greatly. I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who devoted themselves to the success of this excellent convention.

The D3360 Youth Committee joined pre-convention activities with youth committees from different areas. After the convention, PP Naiyana Konsom conducted a trip for the youth committees to the North of Thailand to expand friendships and future collaboration as well as to demonstrate the beautiful natural environment and attractive communities in the North of Thailand for young people participating in Rotary Youth Exchange.

One of the interesting topics discussed at the convention was "New Generations," which has the purpose of persuading young people to join Rotary's Interact, Rotaract, RYLA and YE programs as an effective club development path. I would like to tell you one interesting story. A successful businessman was asked by his newly- graduated son who had just started working, “Where is an organization that could teach me to be a skilled leader, a good speaker, a good collaborator and builder of human relationships?" The answer from his father was concise and easy: “Being a Rotarian would help.”

House of Friendship Exhibition Grand Opening Ceremony

The 2012 Rotary International Host Organization

International President, Kalyan Banerjee, officially

opened the House of Friendship exhibition on the

morning of May 5, 2012 at Impact Challenger,

Bangkok. The Bangkok Governor, M.R.

Sukhumbhand Paribatra, was also an honorary

guest at the opening ceremony. The House of

Friendship exhibits Rotary showcases of

international service projects undertaken by

Rotary fellowships and Rotary Action Groups

worldwide. The grand opening was highlighted

with Thai traditional and contemporary

performances, and the exhibition hall was

breathtakingly beautiful as it was decorated with

magnificent Thai orchids and local flowers.

Indian Philanthropist Commits Another US$1

Million for Rotary’s Polio Eradication Efforts

Ra jashree Birla, of the Aditya Birla Group, has committed an additional US$1 million to The Rotary Foundation for polio eradication efforts.

Birla, of Mumbai, announced the donation on 8 May at the Arch C. Klumph Society dinner during the 2012 RI Convention in Bangkok, Thailand. Birla’s contributions to the Foundation’s campaign to eradicate polio, including this commitment, total more than $6.2 million.

Birla’s late husband, Aditya, made the Aditya Birla Group into a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest in India. Today, her son, Kumar Mangalam, is chairman of the board, and she serves as a director.

“Mrs. Birla’s presence at the convention, not just for her program segment but all four days, showed the regard she has for Rotary. She is magnanimity, dignity, compassion, humility and tranquility personified,” said RI President Kalyan Banerjee. “It is not just the additional one million dollars she gave for Polio eradication but the grace and absolute commitment she reflects we admire and respect her for.”

Past RI President Rajendra K. Saboo added that Birla's actions are the embodiment of goodness. “She is not just a generous philanthropist but seeks financial support from others and hands-on serves to get the drops in the mouths of children,” Saboo said. “That is what makes her a 'Hero of Humanity.’ ”

“Aditya Birla was one of India’s foremost industrialists and an active philanthropist,” said Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair William B.

Boyd in introducing Rajashree Birla at the convention. “His widow has continued this work through the family’s foundation, introducing education and health care initiatives that improve the lives of underserved populations in rural India. The Birla family is a staunch supporter of the End Polio Now campaign and has contributed generously to [Rotary’s] US$200 Million Challenge fund.”

Birla’s contribution to the Foundation comes during India’s breakthrough year in its fight to be polio-free. The World Health Organization (WHO) removed India from the list of polio-endemic countries in February, after the country hadn’t reported a case of polio since January 2011. To be certified polio-free, India must go until February 2014 without another case of the disease. Continued support is needed to ensure that India and other countries remain polio-free and to stop transmission of the disease in the three remaining polio-endemic countries, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Pakistan.

Birla, addressing the convention on 7 May, said, “Based on the success of Rotary International’s initiatives in India – coupled, of course, with the admirable backing of the government’s health departments and institutions like WHO, UNICEF, CDC, and the Gates Foundation – the day is not far off for us to elimination of polio in the other three countries where unfortunately its traces remain”

She added, “We owe it to ourselves and to humanity at large to ensure that in these three countries as well, polio becomes an affliction of the past.”

An honorary member of the Rotary clubs of Bombay and Mulund, Birla also stressed the need for business accountability and community service. Her Giving to Living campaign encourages corporations to “embed giving into their DNA.”

“When a corporation pushes its energies and helps resolve social sector issues through its engagement, it indirectly stimulates its own business development,” Birla said. “There is much to be gained when business leaders take giving to heart, and set the mandate of making a difference by caring for people in their community.”

เดอนพฤษภาคมปนฝนมาเรวกวาปกตซ งกชวยลดระดบของความรอนทสบเนองมาตงแตเดอนเมษายนได ยงเมอตนเดอนมรายงานวาน าในเขอนส าคญสองเขอนคอเขอนภมพลและเขอนสรกตมน าเหลอเพยง 51 % เทานน ท าใหเกดความกงวลใจวาน าจะไมพอใช แตเมอมฝนโปรยปรายลงมาเปนระยะท าใหอากาศเยนลงและกมปรมาณน าไวใชอยางพอเพยง ซงกหวงเปนอยางยงวาปนน าจะไมทวมมากมายเหมอนปทแลว

กจกรรมของโรตารในชวงทผานมามหลากหลายกจกรรม นอกเหนอจากการเขารวมประชมใหญโรตารสากล (RI Convention) ทย งใหญและประทบใจแลว หลายๆ สโมสรกไดตอนรบมตรตางประเทศทมารวมประชมและเดนทางตอมายงภาคเหนอ ไดเสรมสรางมตรภาพ จดกจกรรมบ าเพญประโยชนรวมกน และดแลใหเขาไดทองเทยวในสถานทนาสนใจของเรา ท าใหมรายไดจากการทองเทยวเขาสประเทศ เมอวนกอนดฉนไดเขาสมมนาซงมผบรหารจากส านกงานสงเสรมการจดประชมและนทรรศการ(TCEB) กลาวถงการจดประชมใหญโรตารสากลวาประเทศไทยมรายไดจากการทมผเขารวมประชมจากตางประเทศถงสพนลานบาท

ขอแสดงความยนดกบหลายสโมสรทไดคมตรใหมทพรอมจะท าโครงการบ าเพญประโยชนรวมกน ยกตวอยางเชน สโมสรโรตารเชยงใหมใต ทไดพบปะพดคยกบมตรโรแทเรยนทมาประชมฯ หลงจากท าความรจกกนและเลาเรองโครงการทท า มตรโรแทเรยนกมอบเงนสดใหซอเครองกรองน าจ านวน 9,000 บาท และตกลงจะท าโครงการน าสะอาดรวมกนในอนาคตอกตอไป ส าหรบดฉนเองในนามของสโมสรโรตารลานนาเชยงใหมกไดพบกบคมตรจากฮอกไกโด ภาค 2510 ประเทศญป นทไดจดงาน Hokkaido Night เพอขอบคณและกระชบความสมพนธ พรอมทงเตรยมท าโครงการ Global Grant รวมกนในป 2013 จะเหนไดวาบรรยากาศของโรตารเตมไปดวยมตรภาพทอบอนและการท าประโยชนเพอสวนรวมเปนจดหมายเดยวกน

วนท 2-3 มถนายน 2555 กจะมการประชมอบรมเจาหนาทและคณะกรรมการบรหารสโมสรของภาค 3360 ขนทโรงแรมล าปางเวยงทอง จ. ล าปาง จงเปนอกโอกาสพเศษอกโอกาสหนงทโรแทเรยนในภาคจะไดพบปะกน พรอมกบเตรยมความพรอมสปบรหาร 2555-2556 แลวพบกนทล าปางนะคะ

In May this year the rain has arrived earlier than usual

which has lowered the very high temperatures we have had since April. It was reported early this month that

two major dams in the north, the Bhumipol and Queen

Sirikit dams, were only 51% full causing concern that there is sufficient water for public use, but when the

rain falls, the air is cooler and there is sufficient water. We sincerely hope that it will not flood this year

like last year.

There have been a variety of Rotary activities in the

past month. Apart from attending the RI Convention, which was one of the grandest and most impressive

events ever for Thai Rotarians, many of us had the

opportunity to welcome overseas Rotarians who traveled on to the northern provinces of Thailand. We

strengthened friendships and joined in service projects while we took good care of our visitors to this

region. Also, as a result of the event, we were able to generate tourism income for the country. The other day

I attended a seminar and met with a representative

from Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau who disclosed that Thailand has gained about Baht 4 billion

generated by the RI Convention's 38,000 attendees.

Congratulations to the clubs which signed sister club

agreements as well as presenting service projects during the time of the convention. To mention some,

the Rotary Club of Chiang Mai South exchanged views with an Indian club. This paved the way to agreeing

upon a service project. The foreign club donated Baht 9000 cash as a deposit for a water purification project.

The Rotary club of Lanna Chiang Mai met with its sister

club from Hokkaido, D2510, which hosted a "Hokkaido Night" party to thank Thai sister club Rotarians and

strengthen their relationship following implementation of a series of service projects, and they planned more

projects for 2013. The atmosphere during the week of

The next district event on June 2-3, 2012 is the district

assembly, 2-3 June, at the Lampang Viengthong Hotel,

Lampang. This is another good opportunity for us to meet and get ready for Rotary year 2012-13.
