About Our Wine Tours

We want to show you the real Mendoza wine country, introduce you to the wonderful people who live here and provide you with a memorable experience. While we have developed what we think are the best wine tour experiences in each region we visit, we are flexible and open to your suggestions in organizing your tour. If you have concerns with any aspect of our tours, please let us know and we will adapt to your needs and customize your tour according to your preferences.

DAILY SCHEDULE: Usually the first visit will be scheduled at 09:30 AM, so depending on the wine region’s location; your day will start around 9:00 AM. Your Mendoza Holidays guide will begin your tour describing the region you are going to visit and its unique characteristics.

WINE TASTINGS: Normally you will find that tastings vary from two to five wines per winery and they will tend to show you their varietals, reserve and grand reserve lines. We have distinguished to some degree the level of tastings by offering different tour types as described below. If you wish to try specific premium wines, please let us know, so that we can arrange a special tasting, (this could affect the price of your tour).

OUR GUIDES: Whether you are coming to the region for the first time or the fiftieth, our wine savvy tour guides will show you an unforgettable wine tasting experience. Thankfully our rock-star team of sommeliers, vintners, and wine educators has explored the area for years and we are ready to show you the perfect day tour in Mendoza wine country. MH01 – LUJAN DE CUYO WINE TOUR Mendoza can rely on great world known wineries, but not just that. Olive oil is also another very important product for our economy, so this tour intends to show the work of outstanding producers in the Lujan de Cuyo region.

Your first visit will be to Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe, a boutique winery which produces only limited quantities of high quality red wines. Straight after, we head to Olivícola Pasrai, an olive oil factory in which we will get to know the process of olive oil making. A delicious olive oil tasting is provided, together with other deli foods to try (olive paté, sundried tomatoes on homemade bread).

Our next tour and tasting takes place at Luigi Bosca Winery. Founded in 1901 by Don Leoncio Arizu, Luigi Bosca winery has played an extensive role in the Argentine winemaking industry. For example, in 1989 the family actively worked for the foundation of the first DOC in Argentina (Denomination of Origin) in Luján de Cuyo.

The last winery we visit is Alta Vista, which, by far, has the most charm. The tasting room is set in one of the original concrete tanks stylistically re-designed using old oak and barrel bands. The original underground barrel cellars are guaranteed to impress as is the wine. Their single vineyard Malbecs regularly receive 92+ points from Wine Spectator. We choose to have a picnic lunch with our wine tasting. We will enjoy enough time here because you will find yourself wanting to spend it enjoying the beautiful location.

MH02 – MAIPU WINE TOUR To the east of the city, Maipú transports us to the past. Experience the origin of wine in Argentina. We will visit three wineries that opened the path of viticulture here in Argentina and still have conserved their family traditions to this day, forming an important part of the production of wines in Mendoza.

This tour is designed to share and enjoy an excellent day of wines. We will visit some of the most important and renowned wineries of this region. Trapiche Winery represents “the richness of diversity.” Over the course of its history, this winery has always understood the strength of viticulture in this country, specializing in obtaining the best of the terroir, creating unique wines. We continue to Bodega Sin Fin, a family owned winery by local Mendocinians - a modern proposition in a completely remodeled building from 1937.

Finally we visit Bodega Familia Zuccardi. This family company was founded in 1963 by Engineer Alberto Zuccardi. In those times, he began planting vines in Maipú (province of Mendoza), experimenting with an irrigation system of his own creation based on a method used in California. Forty five years after the starting point of this path, there are three generations joined by a passion for wine. In September 2015, the prestigious magazine DECANTER acknowledged José Alberto and Sebastián Zuccardi as being among the five most influential personalities of Argentine Wine. We continue for lunch at Pan y Oliva, one of two restaurants located at Familia Zuccardi, known for its fresh take on pastas, salads, tapas, with the incorporation of olive oil. We’ll head out into the dining from to enjoy lunch and house wines.

MH03 – UCO VALLEY WINE TOUR The mountains and the beautiful views in Uco Valley prepare our senses to experience the aromas and flavors of these high-altitude wines. Surrounded by an impressive landscape at the foot of the Tupungato Volcano you will enjoy these prestigious wineries ending up with an exquisite gourmet lunch.

We will visit some of the most important and highlighted wineries in the region: Salentein Winery, Domaine Bousquet and Bodega Andeluna, all of which make world renowned wines from this precious land. This high-end tour is designed for you to share and enjoy an excellent day of wine.

MH4 – MUNDO CATENA Discover and enjoy on first-hand the secrets of everything related with Catena Zapata. Its wines, its wineries, its history, its passion for this fantastic drink called Wine. A day for total delight, a tour of the best Argentine wines, a tour of the family that took Argentine wines to the world!

This High-End tour is designed to encounter, taste and enjoy the best wines of our land. Through ¨Catena´s World¨ we are entering the history of Catena Zapata family, tasting their wines "Angelica Zapata" in its emblematic pyramid winery. We propose to live this experience in small groups of no more than 10 people, composed by wine travelers who share the same interest in this fascinating drink.

During the day we will also visit Bodega Caro, a partnership between Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and the Catena family. The excitement around it quickly reflected in a project: make a single wine from the union of two cultures (French and Argentinian) and two vines (Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon).

Finally we visit Casa El Enemigo, inspired by Alejandro Vigil’s childhood with his grandfather, searching the simplicity for its present, and chosen as the temple where they sit and dream of the future. Cultivator of the day to day, open the game and aims to share the happiness that gives you the “daily thing” from the comfort of his home. "The idea is to follow the project just being home," says Alejandro (Principal Catena Zapata´s Winemaker). After the tasting, a four-course lunch with paired wines will be served at the winery´s restaurant.

MH5 – HIGH MOUNTAIN TOUR The Andes mountains in Mendoza have always had an enormous impact on the imagination of those who have seem them. The words with which the characteristics of the Andes were expressed correspond exactly to the categories of the sublime: vertically, grandeur, monumentality, essential purity, the intensity of colors, astonishment, mystical asceticism and transcendence...

The road to Chile is stunning to look at and fascinating to learn about. Following the route that skirts the winding course of the Mendoza river, you will leave the countryside behind in order to enter the pre- mountain range area. The first stop will be in Potrerillos, a small mountain town, with weekend residences belonging to the inhabitants of Mendoza. There is also an unbeatable view of the Potrerillos dam which forms a breathtaking artificial lake. The following section of the route leads to Uspallata, framed by mountainous landscapes with changing colours, filled with various geological formations and many tunnels on the road. The famous film "Seven years in Tibet" was filmed in this valley. The trip continues towards several other small mountain towns, Polvaredas, Punta de Vacas, Penitentes, until you reach Puente del Inca, a natural bridge where Las Cuevas river has drilled into the mountains forming this incredible natural attraction. Thermal water emerges from different areas and several pools are being used by the climbers as a free spa!

Close to the border, a wonderful viewpoint allows us to see the Aconcagua Mt in all its splendor, which stands at 6,962 meters ( 22,841 feet) above sea level . We´ll enter the stunning Horcones Lagoon and to the Provincial Park for a small walk and pictures. The mountains in the Andes are the highest in the world outside of the Himalayas. On the way back we will discover the little and charming town of Uspallata, before driving along Mendoza River on the way back to Mendoza city. This tour is really an amazing way to see and experience the spectacular wilderness areas of the Andes Mountains in Mendoza. End of tour around 7.00pm.

MH6 – BIKE & WINES An original and enjoyable way to discover the vineyards, the wineries, and the amazing wine region of Luján de Cuyo. Stunning landscapes provide visitors with innumerable opportunities to enjoy the scenery while also getting a great workout. Favorite sip-and-cycle routes wind through the famous wine regions. The tour starts at 9.00, by picking up our guests from their hotels in Mendoza city.

The first winery of the tour is Kaiken Winery in Vistalba, Luján de Cuyo. After tasting three of their wines, the tour continues by bike, exploring the vineyards of the area. Next stop will be Carlos Pulenta’s Bodega Vistalba. Passengers will tour this winery as well concluding with a guided tasting of three wines and then continuing to explore the region on bike overlooking the Andes.

The last winery is Nieto Senetiner, a historical argentinian winery. Once there, after a guided tour, three different wines will be served for tasting (from both the “Nieto Senetiner” and "Don Nicanor" range). After the tasting, a three- course lunch with paired wines will be served at the winery´s Restaurant.

MH7 – LUJAN DE CUYO – Chacras & Vistalba regions - Renacer, Kaiken y Alta Vista

We pick you up in the morning at your hotel and head for the vineyards of Luján de Cuyo, in the heart of Mendoza wine country.

The first visit of the day is Bodega Renacer, a beautiful modern winery with landscaped gardens surrounded by lush vines. This Chilean-owned winery makes great Malbec and is the only location in Argentina to make Sauvignon Blanc from Chile's Casablanca Valley. Here we enjoy a unique blending tasting of three Malbecs from three different areas, as well as a trying the winery's reserve labels.

Next you will be driven to Kaiken Winery. This rustic 80 year-old winery houses a new venture by the prestigious chilean winery Montes. This arresting winery has panoramic views and makes an incredible blend which is unusual to the region.

The last winery we visit is Alta Vista, which, by far, has the most charm. The tasting room is set in one of the original concrete tanks stylistically re-designed using old oak and barrel bands. MH8– LUJAN DE CUYO – Agrelo area - Mendel, Decero, Susana Balbo Wines

Today explore the different microclimates in the district of Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo.

We will begin our tour at Mendel winery where Silvina, who is in charge of hosting and tasting, will tell you about their treasures. Roberto de la Mota, partner and chief winemaker at Mendel, is the son of Raúl de la Mota, who is sometimes said to be Argentina’s “winemaker of the century” , so important was his work in developing quality wine in this country... Our favorite part arrives when we open the tasting room’s door to enjoy their awesome wines…

Next we continue to Finca Decero. Current visitors will see a state of the art winery with a modern basket press - presses that work more softly than their hydraulic counterparts so fewer seeds break. The guides here are knowledgeable and passionate and the tasting in their visitor lounge has a very welcoming feel with everybody sitting around a long, elegant table discussing the wines.

At midday we visit Susana Balbo Winery (former Dominio del Plata). This modern, expansive, winery produces rich, concentrated Malbec and it is owned by Argentina's most famous female winemaker, Susana Balbo. You will be welcomed with a glass of wine. Lunch is at Susana´s very house; it consists of five steps of regional cuisine, paired with five of their Premium wines and the amazing Andes in the back.

MH9– LUJAN DE CUYO PREMIUM - Viña Cobos, Catena Zapata y Ruca Malen

Today explore the different microclimates in the district of Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo.

Your first visit will be to Viña Cobos. The wines of Viña Cobos are the result of a shared dream inspired by the passion of Paul Hobbs, one of the world’s most famous winemakers and two partners from a wine- producing culture deeply rooted in European traditions. The inaugural 1999 vintage of Cobos Malbec received the highest score at the time for any Argentinean wine upon release from Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator.

Then we will leave for Nicolás Catena's winery, Catena Zapata. You’ll be surprised to discover a pristine Mayan temple tucked away in the vineyards of Mendoza. The impressive, cream-stoned pyramid is the showcase winery for Catena Zapata, one of Argentina’s most prestigious winemakers. They were the first to bring these high quality wines into the international market, and it is Catena Zapata that deserves the credit for alerting the world to the potential of Argentina. The winery is now top of Argentine wine pyramid. The label demands high prices and has attracted gushing reviews. In fact it’s hard to get your hands on a bottle here as most is exported. What remains is for a privileged few. Now does that sound aristocratic?...

We continue to Bodega Ruca Malén where we´ll enjoy a one-of-a-kind dining experience. From the foothills of the Andes Mountains, the focus of Ruca Malen is producing wines that speak of the land and their commitment to the environment. There, you will taste their entire wine list, including their famous and iconic "Kinien". The dining room is located inside a glass room in the vineyards with a view of the Andes. The menu is amazing and the courses are universally excellent, with clever taste combinations, great presentation and appropriate wine matching.

MH10– MAIPU WINE TOUR - Carinae, Trapiche & Familia Zuccardi

Today explore the different wine regions of Maipú.

Your first visit will be to Carinae. This charming boutique winery is owned by French retirees, Brigitte and Philippe Subra, who turned their life dream of owning a winery into a reality. Making refined wines in the heart of the oldest wine region in Mendoza, Maipu, southeast of Mendoza city, a visit to their winery and home is very personal as you can tour the restored winery and new visitor center with Brigitte and Philippe themselves. The winery is located in one of the small older buildings, where visitors can watch the various winemaking processes in action.

Then we will leave for Bodega Trapiche, Argentina´s largest exported Premium brand. Trapiche Winery is an estate full of history dating back to the 1880s. The first of several train lines to Buenos Aires was built here and can still be seen walking around the winery. Viticulture runs along the lines of biodynamic growth as only one in four in the whole of Argentina, steeped in the philosophy of Austrian pioneer Rudolf Steiner. The size though is what makes a visit to this beautiful estate literally mind-blowing: almost 1.000 hectares yield a total of 35 million liters of wine per year... Trapiche represents ¨the richness of diversity¨ in Argentina. Throughout its history, it has understood like no other the strength of the viticulture in Argentina and it has specialized in obtaining the best from every site to create unique wines.

We continue to Bodega Familia Zuccardi. This family company was founded in 1963 by Engineer Alberto Zuccardi. In those times, he began planting vines in Maipú (province of Mendoza), experimenting with an irrigation system of his own creation based on a method used in California. Forty five years after the starting point of this path, there are three generations joined by a passion for wine. In September 2015, the prestigious magazine DECANTER acknowledged José Alberto and Sebastián Zuccardi as being among the five most influential personalities of Argentine Wine. Bearing the name of ¨Casa del Visitante¨, this tourism enterprise of the winery welcomes visitors from all around the world. In the morning, we set forth on a voyage into the diversity and vibrancy of authentic Mendocinean terroir. Our first appointment is at Bodega Domaine St. Diego. Hidden off a country road next to an old ivy-covered church, chime the bell of this tiny garage winery whose owner and winemaker is considered one of the fathers of Mendocino terroir: Ángel Mendoza. Working as the premier winemaker at several wineries in the region, Mendoza is known as the steady hand in expanding Mendoza County's great successes and growth in the industry. After completing his degree in 1971, Mendoza joined the team at Peñaflor and for 25 years acted as the premier winemaker of Peñaflor's Trapiche.In 2001, Ángel Mendoza was awarded ¨Argentina's Winemaker of the Year¨ by his colleagues for dedicating 23 years to ensure Trapiche's success. Domaine St Diego is a winery with vineyards planted on slopes and in the leafy Lunlunta hills in Maipu, a picturesque setting in one of Mendoza’s oldest wine regions.

Then we will leave for Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe. The winery is focused on the elaboration of grapes harvested from low production and high quality vineyards, planted on stony soil. The beautiful landscape and breathtaking sights of Mendoza's mountain range Los Andes, combined with the pleasure of tasting great wine will make for a visit you won't soon forget.

Just down the road, drop in on Bodega Tempus Alba, an artisan winery run by an Argentinean family. With the arrival of their grandparents at this loved land, way back at the beginning of last century, searching for a flourishing life and a place to raise a family; then, their family history began based on love, hard work and hope. Everything here is a family effort, enthused with their passion of sharing the land and its traditions. It is a space Cadillac of winery in an area that is more famous for dusty, adobe style bodegas and giant concrete juice tanks. Getting an early start from Mendoza after picking you up from your hotel at 8:30, we head towards the Uco Valley, taking the scenic route via Tupungato.

At the entrance to one of Mendoza’s most renowned wine regions, the Uco Valley, Bodega Atamisque features stunning stone crafted architecture designed by architects Bormida & Yanzon. This setting helps the winery blend into this wild, rustic setting. In addition to making wines in the modern winery, the French family also has a fruit and nut farm and is one of the few producers of trout in the region.

Then we will leave for Bodega La Azul. The winery had humble beginnings as just a vineyard, selling harvested grapes sold to local winemakers. Today it is a thriving boutique winery with a reputation for great quality red wines and attention to detail. The winery continues to use old fashioned artisanal techniques, such as adding egg whites as a filter for the wines. If you visit, the winemaker himself will walk you through the facility and its processes himself.

The huge windows of the dining room are designed to take advantage of the effect, allowing us to enjoy the view as much as the food. The kitchen is entirely open for viewing from the dining area, and it is remarkable to see the creativity of these chefs in action. MH14– SOUTH UCO VALLEY PREMIUM Monteviejo and O´Fournier

With one of the most accomplished winemakers in Argentina, Marcello Pelleriti, also the head winemaker for Chateau le Gay in Pomerol, Monteviejo is well-known for its high scoring wines; their Lindaflor earned 93 points from Wine Spectator internationally. It is a key winery in the famed Clos de los Siete family, run by Michel Rolland.

Monteviejo was built under the premise of integrating and harmonizing the building with the natural scenery, without interrupting or limiting the impressive view of the Andes Mountain. The tourist route is oriented around the outside circuit of the winery to give visitors a view into the winery but allow the winemakers to focus on winemaking at all times. Monteviejo produces French-style blends as well as some single varieties which are sold domestically but primarily out of Argentina.

We drive southern end Uco Valley to La Consulta, where we´ll visit Bodega O´Fournier. This is one of Argentina´s new wine superstars; the stunning location and quirky, futuristic architecture is the vision of a Spanish entrepreneur whose house specialty is Tempranillo.

O. Fournier´s mission is to produce high-quality wines in different regions of the world: Argentina, Chile, Ribera de Duero, Rioja and Douro (Portugal). A tour of this gravity-driven facility concludes with a 4-course lunch where each dish is paired with the winery's top wines including their A and B Crux. Return to Mendoza in the late afternoon.

MH16– DELUXE SPARKLING TOUR Cruzat and Chandon

Located in the Perdriel area of Mendoza, Cruzat is one of the few wineries in Argentina and Chile dedicated exclusively to produce Ultra Premium sparkling wines by (in) the traditional French method. In Argentina, where there is a culture of drinking sparkling as an aperitif, there is a huge range in quality.

Don Pedro Rossell - Argentina’s primo maestro in Sparkling wines, invites us into the fermentation tank area where tall, slim tanks huddle in a corner. They use these tanks specifically for making the bases for sparkling wines to avoid oxidation as the grape musts go through the first and second fermentation, malolatic. He explains that as the wines ferment, they create layers of aromas that increase the complexity as the wines are kept on the lies. From the moment of harvest to this point is two years (or more) in its life as a still wine. This is before they even begin to move onto the magic of turning it into bubbly! In the tasting room, we´ll sit down to try the fruits of his labor. At 11am, this will be our “second” breakfast… “Creating bubbles”

Just a short drive away is Bodegas Chandon. Their winery is an hour south of Mendoza city in the middle of a vineyard district Alto Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, and shows the different methods of sparkling wine production which include both handmade sparkling wines (champenoise) and those made in larger tanks (charmat). Taste your way throughout the different lines of bubbles in the tasting room. MH17– Lujan de Cuyo BLENDING EXPERIENCE Renacer & Susana Balbo Wines


The first visit of the day is Renacer. This Chilean-owned winery makes great Malbec and is the only location in Argentina to make Sauvignon Blanc from Chile's Casablanca Valley. Here we will participate in a blending master class, combining different vineyard samples of Malbec in order to produce our own favorite blend.

Next you will be driven to Susana Balbo Winery (former Dominio del Plata). This modern, expansive, winery produces rich, concentrated Malbec and it is owned by Argentina's most famous female winemaker, Susana Balbo. You will be welcomed with a glass of wine. Then, the guided tour starts... To make the blend, you will be presented with 3 bottles of different varietals, along with a descriptor of its characteristics and what they would add to define a style. Then, you have to name your creation and give it a brand, while you enjoy a glass of Ben Marco Expresivo or Susana Balbo Brioso. You will receive a Blend Art certificate for your achievements.

Founded in 1895 by Edmund James Palmer Norton, an English engineering who first set eyes on Mendoza countryside during the construction of the train line that joined Mendoza and Chile, the winery experienced across the years strong international growth and positioned itself as one of the leading wine exporters in the country, at present reaching more than 60 countries.

Set among the foothills of the Andes, Andeluna Winery is a remarkably beautiful place to behold.

This lovely place is the inspiration for the name Andeluna, which was chosen to symbolize the romance and heritage of the Argentine moon illuminating the magnificent Andes Mountains that frame the Uco Valley near the town of Tupungato.

Tempus Alba´s motto is: ¨We are what we do¨. The Biondolillo family runs this outstanding bodega in the fifth generation and it really is a family affair. The Dad runs the Malbec cloning program, Mariano runs the winery and Leo is responsible for the sales. Lovely people producing lovely wines!

Start off with a guided tour of the winery with one of the members of the Biondolillo family or the winemaker and end up on the outstanding terrace. We then guide you in the challenge of blending our five red varietals to make your tailor-made blend. MH22– BOUTIQUE WINERIES Bressia, Caelum and Casarena

Weave through vineyards, as you taste your way through Luján de Cuyo and enhance your wine knowledge guided by some of Mendoza´s most talented ¨winegrowers¨.

Our first appointment is at Bodega Bressia. Walter Bressia used to produce wines for many different wineries in Mendoza. However, in 2003, he decided to follow his dream of making his own wines, and started Bodega Bressia with his wife and children. Set among vineyards and a peaceful garden with a babbling brook, the winery is a beautiful villa style design. The barrel room has a pretty motif with the Bressia cherub attractively lit over some of the oak barrels. During the tour you can see the complete winemaking process, and the winery's focus on highest quality, and a smaller quantity of wines, using smaller tanks is clear. You will learn all about the wines by a Bressia family member, in a warm, relaxed setting. The winery produces red wines, white wines, sparkling wine and even their own grappa. All are incredibly fabulous.

We continue to visit Bodega Caelum. No detail has been spared in this exquisite project. After more than ten years of dedicated farm work and selling grapes to neighboring wineries, they decided to complete the cycle of the vine, producing elegant wines that combines old world know-how with Mendoza´s unique terroir. The result is concentrated wines with great structure, soft tannins, bright aromas, and a tremendous balance. Get to know the soul of this wine by visiting its birthplace - the vineyards and winery - followed by a guided tasting with renowned Italian winemaker Giuseppe Franceschini.

Next we have lunch at Bodega Casarena. The dream of Casarena began with a simple idea… to create wine of uncompromising quality at a fair price, with the ultimate goal of being the greatest vineyard project in Mendoza. It was in early 2007 that the owners were first introduced to the culture of Argentina under the watchful eye of Eno Rolland (Michelle Rolland’s Argentine team). Our cooking lessons are about much more than a list of ingredients and how to cook them. Everyone who enjoys quality time with fine wines and food should enjoy these tours. Step off the beaten path and discover Mendoza through its food!

Eating like a local is an important aspect of getting an accurate look at a culture. What is perhaps even more rewarding than eating like a local is understanding the ingredients and care that goes in to the preparation of our traditional cuisine.

Our first visit will be to Bodega La Azul. Tiny is the impression you have as you drive up to this winery. It is hard not to look around wondering where the rest of the cellar is. A single stark building, not much larger than other winery´s garages is all that is required to make some of the finest wines in Argentina. Hosted by one of the winemarkers, we´ll taste their Cabernet and Malbec wines, which have grabbed much attention for their distinct personality and excellent value.

We continue to enjoy a really hand-on cooking class at Bodega Andeluna. Their cuisine philosophy is of constant change. It combines the freshness of the products of each season and the delights typical of our country, inviting you to savor the flavors of Argentina’s seven regions.

Today, learn with their chef how to prepare traditional recipes like “empanadas mendocinas” in the clay oven, meat and vegetables on the open fire with fresh chumichurri sauce, among other specialties, which then, we’ll taste during the lunch along with a selection of premium wines that complements each course.

MH25– MAIPU Half Day Wine Tour - Don Manuel Villafañe and Tempus Alba

We drive south east to discover this enchanting wine region. Thanks to the firm continuance of its inhabitants and its privileged natural resources, Maipú, considered the first wine-growing area of Argentina, has accomplished international recognition for its high-end wines.

Our first appointment is at Don Manuel Villafañe Winery. Started in 2002, this small boutique winery valley produces less than 1 million liters a year on 60 hectares, with about 60-70% of production exported. The winery produces Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and blends. During the tour you can see the complete winemaking process, and the winery's focus on highest quality, and a smaller quantity of wines, using smaller tanks is clear. You will learn all about the wines by a Villafañe family member, in a warm, relaxed setting.

We continue to visit Bodega Tempus Alba, an artisan winery run by an Argentinean family. With the arrival of their grandparents at this loved land, way back at the beginning of last century, searching for a flourishing life and a place to raise a family; then, their family history began based on love, hard work and hope. Everything here is a family effort, enthused with their passion of sharing the land and its traditions. It is a space Cadillac of winery in an area that is more famous for dusty, adobe style bodegas and giant concrete juice tanks. MH26– Lujan de Cuyo Half Day Wine Tour - Familia Bonfanti and Decero

Luján de Cuyo is famous for hosting renowned wineries and ancient vineyards facing the Cordón del Plata, some 980 meters high. Its deep, loamy, soils are a rarity at that height in Mendoza. Thus, the Malbec’s are remarkably intense in color and fruit, with a distinctive taste.

Our first appointment is at Bodega Bonfanti, a boutique winery located in Perdriel, Lujan de Cuyo. Since he was a child, Roberto Bonfanti, son of Italian immigrants, took interest in the cultural works of the vineyards. His passion and dedication throughout the years can be appreciated nowadays in his awarded wines. Meet the owners and walk their lovely vineyards as they share their passion for this activity that their predecessors have passed on.

We continue to visit Decero Winery. Stretched out like a Spanish villa, Decero has beautiful gardens with a perfect Andean view of the Cordon del Plata mountain range and Tupungato volcano. An ideal afternoon in Mendoza is spent here relaxing on the outdoor living room sofa and drinking nice Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot wines (after a satisfying lunch). Decero focuses on single vineyard wines and use a hands-on approach to winemaking. Every aspect of the process is managed by hand, from picking to sorting to selecting to carefully processing in this modern winery before bottling and eventually tasting! MH27– WINERIES IN FASHION - Catena & Familia Zuccardi

Your first visit will be to Catena Zapata. The winery is undoubtedly one of the most recognized labels from Argentina around the globe.

You’ll be surprised to discover a pristine Mayan temple tucked away in the vineyards of Mendoza. The impressive, cream-stoned pyramid is the showcase winery for Catena Zapata, one of Argentina’s most prestigious wine makers. Bodega Catena Zapata needs little introduction to most wine lovers. They were the first to bring these high quality wines into the international market, and it is Catena Zapata that deserves the credit for alerting the world to the potential of Argentina. Top scoring wines such as Argentina’s first 98 point wine with Robert Parker, and family fame as the pioneers of making Malbec in Argentina make this a can’t miss winery for most wine lovers.

Next we go to visit the world famous Familia Zuccardi, one of Argentina’s most forward thinking wineries with excellent visitor facilities. Wine-making goes back to the early 1960s for this family concern, now in the hands of third-generation oenologist Sebastián. His grandfather Alberto designed a vine-training system known as the Zuccardi parral, but it was father José Alberto who took the family business to new heights in the 1980s and 1990s, creating accessible as well as high-end wine for export. And the winery – a functional affair located in Maipú’s (relative) lowlands sheathed in the prolific pergola vines – very much remains a family concern.

Olive oil is one of Mendoza’s best natural resources and you can’t visit the province without tasting some of the best available, and much of that is at Familia Zuccardi. This family winery has been making olive oil for the last decade and is widely recognized as producing some of the best in Mendoza, winning many local awards fans. During the May olive season, there is the unique opportunity to harvest olives and press your own olive oil to take home. For lunch we will enjoy a traditional Argentinean barbeque with Zuccardi reserve line of wines.

Getting an early start from Mendoza after picking you up from your hotel at 7:00, we head towards the San Rafael Valley (230kms), taking the scenic route via Tunuyán. San Rafael is the last oasis in Southern Mendoza, irrigated by the rivers Diamante and Atuel. An incredible Cloning Experience The journey of technological innovation proper begins by selecting a bud from a “genetically superior” mother vine, from which bits of green tissue are taken. The bits 13 will eventually sprout a root system and grow in a glass jar under completely sterile conditions. Once the new plantlet is some 10 cm tall, it is divided into small segments (micro-cuttings) that are replanted in another glass container; thus in-vitro micropropagation continues until the desired number of plants is reached. After a rustication period, they can be taken outside and planted in the vineyard. The economic importance of this technique lies in the fact that from a single bud it is possible to obtain tens of thousands of genetically identical, virus-free grapevines in one year: a woody cane obtained from the winter pruning of an adult plant will take the same time to give rise to a single plant. It is important to note that this technique does not involve genetic manipulation; it consists simply in accelerating a process as natural as millenary. It replaces a climate dependent production process with an industrial production process under controlled and completely sterile conditions, which ensures genetic uniformity, an exponential rate of multiplication, and absolute plant health and traceability.

We will learn several ways for Malbec to achieve its maximum quantitative and qualitative expression under similar conditions of genetic material and vineyard management. Tempus Alba owners believe that this is the only way to isolate and assess the pure impact of terroir on the production of unique wines with genetic identity in a given geographic region.

Prepare to tempt your taste buds as you tour an olive oil production facility and take a private olive tasting class at the Pan y Oliva restaurant, located at the prestigious Bodega Familia Zuccardi winery, in the heart of Mendoza’s wine country. This unique experience allows you to learn about olive oil production and taste the oils made fresh from the olives grown on the ground of the winery.

Our day starts off as we arrive at Familia Zuccardi and take a tour of the olive oil production facility. After wine, olive oil is one of Mendoza’s most plentiful natural resources, and Familia Zuccardi is known for producing some of the best quality olive oils in the region. We’ll learn about the whole process of making olive oil and then sample some of the delicious finished product.

Next it’s time to head over to Pan y Oliva, one of two restaurants located at Familia Zuccardi, known for its fresh take on pastas, salads, tapas, with the incorporation of olive oil. After we’re done our class, we’ll head out into the dining from to enjoy lunch and house wines.

During this private experience we visit three of the most prestigious wineries in Argentina. We will enjoy outstanding wines that have been awarded 90+ points by Robert Parker.

We will begin our tour at Mendel winery where Silvina, who is in charge of hosting and tasting will tell you about their treasures. Roberto de la Mota, partner and chief winemaker at Mendel, is the son of Raúl de la Mota, who is sometimes said to be Argentina’s “winemaker of the century” . Our favourite part arrives when we open the tasting room’s door to enjoy their awesome wines: Malbec 2013, 2014 and the Unus 2012.

Next, we will visit Viña Cobos. The wines of Viña Cobos are the result of a shared dream inspired by the passion of Paul Hobbs, one of the world’s most famous winemakers and two partners from a wine- producing culture deeply rooted in European traditions. The inaugural 1999 vintage of Cobos Malbec received the highest score at the time for any Argentinean wine upon release from Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator.

Finally, the tour takes you to Bodega Melipal. The winery is surronded by willow trees, small canals and vineyards with a magnificent view of the Andes mountain range. The tour and tasting lunch at Melipal really highlights Argentina’s love for food and wine. The restaurant is a gorgeous, a relaxing place with sweeping views of the vineyards and a fantastic patio alongside their pond. We´ll enjoy a luxurious lunch paired with their superb wines.

The first visit of the day is Renacer. This Chilean-owned winery makes great Malbec and is the only location in Argentina to make Sauvignon Blanc from Chile's Casablanca Valley. Here we will participate in a blending master class, combining different vineyard samples of Malbec in order to produce our own favorite blend.

Next you will be driven to Susana Balbo Winery (former Dominio del Plata). This modern, expansive, winery produces rich, concentrated Malbec and it is owned by Argentina's most famous female winemaker, Susana Balbo. You will be welcomed with a glass of wine. Then, the cooking experience starts...

Our cooking class is at Susana´s very house. Do you want to make homemade pasta, pizza and bread ? Who doesn´t love pizza and pasta? The cheff will teach you their secret tricks to making delicious homemade pizza and pasta just like you taste in Italy.. or Mendoza ! MH35– 2CV Malbec Expedition in Luján de Cuyo - ( Alta Vista + Catena Zapata + Ruca Malen )

Today we will explore Mendoza best wineries driving a vintage Citroen 2CV, a handsome classic car. Just like the Mini or Volkswagen Beetle, these instantly recognisable and iconic Citroens have the ability to turn heads and create smiles.

As with all cars of this age and nature, getting to grips with the fundamental controls takes a bit of getting used to. But once you’ve mastered the unique gearbox and remembered to turn off the indicators after every turn, it is possible to immerse yourself in this fantastic driving experience.

Once you are sat in the driver’s seat you will receive a quick course in the 2CV’s peculiar functioning, its primitive but ingenious design. The window that snaps open and shut, the notorious horizontal gear-stick, and the air-conditioning system – a flap in the dashboard which, when opened, directs a blast of fresh air straight at your face. Upon leaving the hustle and bustle of Mendoza’s city streets, you can truly appreciate the stunning countryside. The fact we can have the roof down on our classic car make the views even more pleasurable.

The first visit of the day is Alta Vista, here you will try their excellent Grand Reserva in a tasting room that is a converted concrete tank. You will also taste the winery's top icon wine called Alto, a regular winner as best Argentine wine at International wine tastings.

Then we will leave for Nicolás Catena's winery, Catena Zapata. You’ll be surprised to discover a pristine Mayan temple tucked away in the vineyards of Mendoza. The impressive, cream-stoned pyramid is the showcase winery for Catena Zapata, one of Argentina’s most prestigious winemakers. The winery is now top of Argentine wine pyramid. What remains is for a privileged few. Now does that sound aristocratic?...

We continue to Bodega Ruca Malén where we´ll enjoy a one-of-a-kind dining experience. There, you will taste their entire wine list, including their famous and iconic "Kinien". The dining room is located inside a glass room in the vineyards with a view of the Andes. The menu is amazing and the courses are universally excellent, with clever taste combinations, great presentation and appropriate wine matching.

MH36– HARVEST TOUR at Zuccardi Winery

Experience one of the most important stages in the wine making process: the harvest. Guided by Familia Zuccardi Winery expert staff you will be able to harvest and learn about this traditional and vital activity.

This fabulous day vineyard tour is an exploration of the beautiful wine region surrounding Mendoza and the wines produced there. Fall is an exciting time to visit. The vines are heavy with fruit and the vine leaves are starting to turn scarlet, orange and gold and the harvest will be in full swing. This is your chance to get up close to the harvest and help bring the grapes in and be part of an exciting wine making day.

Harvest time is highly unpredictable, so much depends on the growing conditions all summer and the weather in February. Therefore our itinerary for this tour needs to be flexible and we will be reacting to what is actually happening on the ground.

The day ends with a regional lunch in the restaurant of the winery. Bearing the name of ¨Casa del Visitante¨, this tourism enterprise of the company welcomes visitors from all around the world. The traditional lunch will be a classic Argentinian bbq (asado), accompanied by splendid wines in the winery’s verandah.

This tour combines Argentina's two great passions: outdoors and wine. It´s the ideal tour when you're looking for an experience that goes beyond ordinary. The wide dirt roads between the vineyard tracks are not technical and the pace is easy-going and fun. Stunning landscapes provide visitors with innumerable opportunities to enjoy the scenery while also getting a great workout.

We saddle up for a gentle ride through the vineyards with an experienced local wrangler (gaucho). All skill levels are welcome and trotting is allowed. The land in this district (Lunlunta valley) is a wonderful mix of rocky terrain, hills and some narrow paths as well as wide-open fields. To the west, we will contemplate the impressive foothills of the highest mountain range in the Americas and the frontal mountain ranges to the south. During the horseback ride, we will be able to get to know more about the customs of the Argentinian gauchos (cowboys) while riding through a landscape of vineyards and gentle hills.

After a 90 minutes ride we continue on this exclusive one day tour to visit Bodega Familia Zuccardi. Departing from Lunlunta east towards the wine appellation known as Maipú, this unexplored region of natural beauty is home to a handful of first-rate wineries that produce stellar Malbec and Bonarda.

Accompanied by a guide, you will bike from the entrance of the visitor center to the vineyards of Finca Beltrán. The tour makes three stops (Chardonnay, Syrah & Malbec). At each stop, you will taste wines of these three varietals, including a selection of assorted cheeses and cold cuts. We will also learn about the characteristics of the vineyards, irrigation system and the vineyards trelling system.

After two hours ride, we are welcomed at the winery restaurant ¨Casa del Visitante¨ to enjoy a fine

selection of delicious Argentinean meat (BBQ) pair with high-end Zuccardi Premium wines.

After a 2 hours ride we continue on this exclusive one day tour to visit Tempus Alba Winery. Tempus Alba´s motto is: ¨We are what we do¨. The Biondolillo family runs this outstanding bodega in the fifth generation and it really is a family affair. The Dad runs the Malbec cloning program, Mariano runs the winery and Leo is responsible for the sales. Lovely people producing lovely wines!

Start off with a guided tour of the winery with one of the members of the Biondolillo family or the winemaker. We will also learn about the characteristics of the vineyards, irrigation system and the vineyards trellis system. We will then enjoy a delicious lunch with Tempus Alba´s owner on what is without question the terrace with the best view in all Mendoza !

MH39– ESTANCIA´S FLAVOUR - Traditional cooking class at Estancia La Alejandra (Andes Mountains).

We leave Mendoza City, guided by our wine host, and head to " La Alejandra" farm which is located at the foothills of the Andes mountain range, over 1.900 meters above the sea level. There´s a rustic wood and tin lodge that´s dwarfed by the snow-capped peaks behind it, smoke billowing up from a large outdoor ¨parrilla¨. Once there, a delicious breakfast will be waiting for us at the farm lodge. Later on, a local chef will introduce us to the regional cuisine. He will also help us cook our own local lunch. The cooking class will include the following preparations and recipes:

- Empanadas: preparation of the traditional empanada dough with different fillings: ground beef (the traditional Mendocino filling), humita (corn mixture) and chorizo.

- Lesson on the braided seal design of the empanada; ‘Repulgue’. Baked off in the clay oven. - ‘Pan de Campo’ (Rustic Bread) made with traditional cow lard and herbs. - Explanation on the grill: the roasting meat, salting, fire, what to look for in the cuts, the technique of

the grill, cooking time. Explanation of the ‘chorizo’ and ‘morcilla’. - Development of Creole salad and chimichurri to accompany meats. - Flan and rice pudding, optional.

Wine tasting and tapas will be offered while waiting for the completion of the cooking. Lunch to follow will include all of the class’ preparations. Towards the afternoon, our ride back to the city of Mendoza will take us to the North via La Carrera road with a stop at the viewpoint of La Ollada: where we will see the most breathtaking view of the valley and the Potrerillos dam. A winding road down and through the mountain villages of Potrerillos will then take us to international route No. 7 with destination to Mendoza City.

MH40– WINE & SULKY - Experience at Atamisque Winery (Uco Valley)

We leave Mendoza City, guided by our wine host, and head to Atamisque Winery and its huge farm located at the foothills of the Andes mountain range, over 1.700 meters above the sea level.

After receiving basic instructions we begin our journey on sulky. We will start the ride along dirt roads surrounded by ancient trees and colorful fruit orchards. Venturing through winding paths, we will ascend up to a viewpoint to appreciate the breathtaking view of the Andes mountain range, highlighting the Tupungato volcano, with the vineyards and fruit trees of the estate below.

We will continue the ride alongside lakes that irrigate Atamisque’s farmland and vineyards, and finally delve into the world of wine by walking through the vineyard rows and discovering the unique land and diversity of Atamisque. The winery guide will then take us through a wine tasting, featuring vintages infused with the incomparable flavors and aromas of Atamisque and its terroir. This is a medium-size project with a unique special feature: a slate tile roof.

Served in their chirpy restaurant, Rincón Atamisque, we´ll savor the house specialty (fresh trout) that comes from the winery´s trout farm. All recipes are fully made of natural products, which are grown in this exceptional place. On a clear day you really can see forever. The view is clear along mountains. Expansive only begins to describe each view wich is surpassed only by the next mountain country vista !

MH41– TAI CHI at Winery + HOT SPRING in Termas de Cacheuta

Tai Chi is a known way to reduce stress through gentle excercise, movement, breathing, and stretching. Of course, it partners well with wine! Both are considered to be good for your health. Tai chi (TIE-CHEE) was developed for self-defense, but has evolved into a graceful form of exercise often described as meditation in motion. We start the activity in the morning at Bodega Nieto Senetiner, on the well appointed back patio overlooking the vines and the impressive Andes mountains. It runs smoothly and slowly, allowing the development of relaxation, mental concentration, coordination and breathing consciously and deeply. Its benefits are accessible to all people of all ages and physical ability and more if done in a natural setting: the vineyards and the snow-capped mountains.

After our Tai Chi sessions we´ll take a guided tour of the property and taste three different wines from both the “Nieto Senetiner” and "Don Nicanor" range. After the tasting, we continue on a 20 minutes ride to the famous Hotel Termas de Cacheuta, a spa that is home to Argentina’s only grotto sauna.

Located in the Andes mountains beside the Mendoza River, the luxurious facility offers indoor and outdoor thermal spas, stone pools set to various temperatures, and mud baths. It's here where you'll find infinity pools of fresh natural water shimmering on mountainside terraces. Enjoy full access to the facilities that blend into the natural surroundings, and immerse yourself in activities of intense relaxation.

Take pleasure in moments that touch all the senses: float in a bubbling thermal bath, dip in a pool of refreshingly cool water, breathe in crisp mountain air, and listen to the river surging below. At the grotto sauna (the only one in Argentina), allow heat and mineral mud to seep into your pores, detoxing the worries and stressors of everyday life from your system. Indulge in an independent night tour of beautiful Mendoza with a private tour. Your personal guide will help you design the perfect 2-hour itinerary, escorting you to Mendoza’s key attractions and offering insider tips on where to go and what to see in the capital. We will visit hotspots like San Martin Park, Civic Center, Peatonal Sarmiento, Arístides Villanueva Avenue, and request stops to snap photos, grab a souvenir or take a stroll around your favorite spots.

Your sightseeing tour ends with a superb dinner at Los Toneles Winery. Los Toneles is a meticulously remodeled winery. The restoration was so faithful to its original 1920s architecture that it has been declared a Cultural Heritage site of Mendoza. A charming design and beautiful surroundings make it the perfect site for appreciating carefully designed dishes reflecting a traditional Argentinian style.

The restaurant, Abrasado, offers gourmet cuisine in one of the private rooms or grand halls overlooking the wine cellars. The winemaker’s art comes together with the gastronomic mastery of Chef Sebastián Weigandt, whose dishes combine a selection of roasted fine meat cuts and splendid locally grown vegetables. Explore Mendoza, the capital city of the province, and admire the harmonious blend of natural and man- made beauty. On this 2.5-hour tour your guide will take you to see some of the main attractions, including the historical area of Alameda. You’ll also have a chance to explore the General San Martin Park, ornately designed in the formal European style and considered one of the most important urban green areas in Argentina. We will also visit hotspots like the Civic Center, Peatonal Sarmiento, Arístides Villanueva Avenue, and request stops to snap photos, grab a souvenir or take a stroll around your favorite spots.

For lunch, we´ll enjoy world-class Mendoza cuisine at top restaurant at Bodega Clos de Chacras. Dishes are inspired from authentic recipes, regional cooking techniques, and the fantastic ingredients. A selection of premium wines complements each course.

After lunch, we continue to visit Palmares Open Mall. Shopping in Mendoza brings together the best of both worlds. MH44– High Mountain Tour – Private Tour

The Andes mountains in Mendoza have always had an enormous impact on the imagination of those who have seem them. The words with which the characteristics of the Andes were expressed correspond exactly to the categories of the sublime: vertically, grandeur, monumentality, essential purity, the intensity of colors, astonishment, mystical asceticism and transcendence...

The road to Chile is stunning to look at and fascinating to learn about. Following the route that skirts the winding course of the Mendoza river, you will leave the countryside behind in order to enter the pre- mountain range area. The first stop will be in Potrerillos, a small mountain town, with weekend residences belonging to the inhabitants of Mendoza. There is also an unbeatable view of the Potrerillos dam which forms a breathtaking artificial lake. The following section of the route leads to Uspallata, framed by mountainous landscapes with changing colours, filled with various geological formations and many tunnels on the road. The famous film "Seven years in Tibet" was filmed in this valley.

The trip continues towards several other small mountain towns, Polvaredas, Punta de Vacas, Penitentes, until you reach Puente del Inca, a natural bridge where Las Cuevas river has drilled into the mountains forming this incredible natural attraction. Thermal water emerges from different areas and several pools are being used by the climbers as a free spa!

Close to the border, a wonderful viewpoint allows us to see the Aconcagua Mt in all its splendor, which stands at 6,962 meters ( 22,841 feet) above sea level . We´ll enter the stunning Horcones Lagoon and to the Provincial Park for a small walk and pictures. The mountains in the Andes are the highest in the world outside of the Himalayas. On the way back we will discover the little and charming town of Uspallata, before driving along Mendoza River on the way back to Mendoza city. This is the ideal tour when you're looking for an experience that goes beyond ordinary. The wide dirt roads between the vineyard tracks are not technical and the pace is easy-going and fun.

Traveling south from Mendoza city, we journey into the countryside covered in patchwork fields, swaying Alamos, and the jagged peaks of the Andes Mountains. The destination is the Uco Valley. Well inside the first mountainsides of the Andes´ foothills, this valley presents the highest altitudes at which wines are produced in Mendoza.

Our first ride will be to Bodega Salentein. Respectful of the land´s vibrantly textured past, Salentein is equally inspired by the land´s remarkably promising future. It is this delicate balance of old and new- of blending the tradition of long-celebrated European winemaking methods with the bold ingenuity of the New World- that defines the Salentein style.

After half an hour ride, we get to Bodega Andeluna. Andeluna would look quite at home in a remote part of Texas as a hunting lodge. This is not accidental, Andeluna has deep roots in Texas. The winery was founded in 2003 by Ward Lay (son of the founder of Frito Lays - the parent of Walker crisps). Situated at the foot of the Andes just outside of the town of Tupungato in the Uco Valley, Andeluna has magnificent views of the mountains. The huge windows of the dining room are designed to take advantage of the effect, allowing us to enjoy the view as much as the food. All recipes are fully made of natural products, which are grown in this exceptional place.

In the morning, our wine specialist guide will collect our guests for transfer to the town of Potrerillos, 50 kms from the city of Mendoza. Swap your everyday clothing for a provided neoprene suit, life vest and helmet, and receive safety instructions before making your way to the river for your 1 hour rafting adventure. You'll travel approximately 8 miles (13km) on the rapids with your guide. Then climb aboard your river raft and get ready to experience the white-water thrill of rafting! The rapids on the Mendoza River are intermediate level (Class 2/3), rising to Class 3/4 in the summer months – perfect for first-timers.

The continual rapids provide constant action throughout the decent. High summer flows, chalk-full of sediment, bring huge holes and haystacks. Low winter flows run clear with a natural slalom course of exposed rocks. Safety kayakers join the group for additional support.

After your activity, you will have time to enjoy a wonderful visit and gourmet lunch at Ruca Malen Winery, on your way back to Mendoza city. From the foothills of the Andes Mountains, the focus of Ruca Malen is producing wines that speak of the land and their commitment to the environment. As we move on, we watch a sequence of rock formations that generate adrenaline even in the quietest people. The thing is that rafting is a thrilling sport that unveils what each of us has inside.

After your activity, you will have time to enjoy a wonderful visit and gourmet lunch at Nieto Senetiner Winery, a historical argentinian winery. Once there, after a guided tour, three different wines will be served for tasting (from both the “Nieto Senetiner” and "Don Nicanor" range). After the tasting, a three- course lunch with paired wines will be served at the winery´s Restaurant.

H51– Horseback riding at Nieto Senetiner + Hot springs at Termas de Cacheuta Hotel (Luján de Cuyo)

This tour combines Argentina's two great passions: horses and wine. We will start the day getting to know the area of Vistalba, in the traditional district of Lujan de Cuyo, where the first wine-making families settled after coming from Europe at the end of the 19th century. Seated on well-behaved horses, we will visit the various Lujan wineries until we arrive at Mount El Melón, enjoying a precious view of the Mendocinian oasis. To the west, we will contemplate the impressive foothills of the highest mountain range in the Americas and the frontal mountain ranges to the south.

During the horseback ride, we will be able to get to know more about the customs of the Argentinian gauchos (cowboys) while riding through a landscape of vineyards and gentle hills. We will arrive on horseback with our guide, after two hours of a lovely ride, to the Nieto Senetiner winery, in order to tour their facilities and taste their wines.

We continue on a 20 minutes ride to the famous Hotel Termas de Cacheuta, a spa that is home to Argentina’s only grotto sauna. Located in the Andes mountains beside the Mendoza River, the luxurious facility offers indoor and outdoor thermal spas, stone pools set to various temperatures, and mud baths. It's here where you'll find infinity pools of fresh natural water shimmering on mountainside terraces. After a buffet lunch, take pleasure in moments that touch all the senses: float in a bubbling thermal bath, dip in a pool of refreshingly cool water, breathe in crisp mountain air, and listen to the river surging below. At the grotto sauna (the only one in Argentina), allow heat and mineral mud to seep into your pores, detoxing the worries and stressors of everyday life from your system. Once you emerge, your skin will be smooth to the touch. Wash off in a Finnish- or Scottish-style shower and then stretch out on a lounge chair in the natural solarium. Optional: massages. Stunning landscapes provide visitors with innumerable opportunities to enjoy the scenery while also getting a great workout. We saddle up for a gentle ride through the vineyards with an experienced local wrangler (gaucho). All skill levels are welcome and trotting is allowed. The land in this district (Lunlunta valley) is a wonderful mix of rocky terrain, hills and some narrow paths as well as wide-open fields. To the west, we will contemplate the impressive foothills of the highest mountain range in the Americas and the frontal mountain ranges to the south. During the horseback ride, we will be able to get to know more about the customs of the Argentinian gauchos (cowboys) while riding through a landscape of vineyards and gentle hills.

After a 90 minutes ride you will be driven to Susana Balbo Winery (former Dominio del Plata). This modern, expansive, winery produces rich, concentrated Malbec and it is owned by Argentina's most famous female winemaker, Susana Balbo. You will be welcomed with a glass of wine. Then, the cooking experience starts...

Our cooking class is at Susana´s very house. Do you want to make homemade pasta, pizza and bread ? Who doesn´t love pizza and pasta ? The cheff will teach you their secret tricks to making delicious homemade pizza and pasta just like you taste in Italy.. or Mendoza !

Then our gourmet lunch consists of five steps of regional cuisine, paired with five of their Premium wines and the amazing Andes in the back…

MH53– Fly Fishing Day (Uco Valley) - Flyfishing Experience at an Andean Ranch

Uco Valley is a narrow fertile plain 85 km Southwest of Mendoza city. Nestled between the low Pre- Cordillera and the towering blunted peaks of the Cordon del Plata, it is a high altitude zone producing excellent grapes, pears and peaches. It also produces a wily, intelligent querulous trout. The valley is particularly stunning at daybreak when the snow-capped peaks reflect the bright orange and pink of the rising sun.

The main draw here is the crystal waters - fast moving streams that gushes over brown stones and through narrow creeks. You will be collected at 8.30am in Mendoza after which we will drive south for two hours until we reach the Uco Valley region, in the foothills of the Andes at an elevation of 2000m above sea level. We stop for a coffee at the riverside before you set off for an exhilarating day fishing.

The day will be spent fly fishing in nearby mountain streams. We follow the stream by foot for 30 minutes, accompanied by your guide who knows the best fly fishing spots. Lunch is a riverside asado (Argentine bbq), accompanied by fresh salad, the finest meat and excellent wines. By early evening the river reveals itself as teeming with rainbow trout. Return to Mendoza at 6pm.

MH54– TRANS-ANDEAN TREKKING – Old Railway Mendoza - Chile

This is a spectacular route along the banks of the Mendoza River that will show us all the beauty of the mountainous countryside, crisscrossing a good part of the railroad line that used to link Mendoza with Chile. This hike follows the railroad lines, tunnels, old train stations and bridges left by the historical train that once linked the cities of Mendoza, Argentina and Los Andes, Chile. It was operational from 1914 to 1984 and was of vital importance for both countries. The train’s old route also allows for enjoyment of the gorgeous Mendoza River, since the river and the train shared much of the same path. This is a hike that explores the history the Transandean Pass leaves us, as well as being able to enjoy the immenseness of the Andes mountain range.

Mount Aconcagua is a unique symbol of the province of Mendoza - the highest peak in the Americas at 6,962 meters above sea level. In this hike, we will visit the Confluencia camp site, the first obligatory stop on the way to the summit. The national Highway 7 brings us to Aconcagua Provincial Park, whose singular beauty allows us to see an infinite number of mountains, gorges, and valleys. The hike to Confluencia is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy various experiences in the same outing. We’ll follow a route that allows us to see the impressive South Wall of Aconcagua shortly after the beginning of the hike. It takes almost three hours to reach the campsite, where we will delight in a huge panorama of the mountains and glaciers in the area.

This full-day hike will allow you to inmerse yourself in the heart of the Mendoza Andes Mountains, a place where enormous plunges of rock and mountains of up to 6,000 meters dominate the landscape. The trip begins at only 20 minutes from The Vines and Casa de Uco wine lodges.

The zone of the Cajón de los Arenales, in Tunuyán, is widely known by rock climbers worldwide who appreciate the quality of the granite in order to practice their sport. Lovers of horseback riding and flyfishing visit the area regularly in order to take advantage of all that this destination offers, in a completely virgin natural landscape. This route focuses on the landscape and the absence of people, in the immense shadow of the mountain range, which will allow us to fully enjoy a day of hiking in intimate contact with the mountains.

MH58– MOUNTAIN BIKE MENDOZA to CHILE ( New adventure day tour ! December to March only )

Join us on a superb mountain bike journey, including a very special crossing of the Andes. For lovers of biking and travel, you will experience the region´s most spectacular backroads and trails. The crossing of the Andes is a unique experience that offers magnificent mountain scenery of outstanding natural beauty, including a close view of Mount Aconcagua, "The Colossus of America". The border between Chile and Argentina roughly follows the line along the highest peaks of the Andes.

We start crossing the 3,080-meter-long tunnel to the Chilean side (no Customs needed). Then we begin the exhilarating bike ride, that will run for about 20km through the heart of the Andes range. We will ride the Pass returning to the Argentinian side at an altitude of about 3,900 meters above sea level. At this point is located the seven-meter-high bronze statue of Chris the Redeemer. The monumental sculpture was installed at the site in 1904 to celebrate the agreement of Chile and Argentina about the line that marks the border between the two countries. As we travel, we are dwarfed by the striking Andes Mountains that surround us. Join us in one of the most exhilarating bike rides in the world! At the end of the afternoon we head then towards Mendoza.

MH59– LAGUNA DEL DIAMANTE – 4WD experience (December to March only)

A spectacular road trip in 4×4 to Discover the Maipo Volcano in the Main Andes and the gorgeous Laguna del Diamante, following the tracks of the aviator Henri Guillaumet. During this full day 4WD tour to the magical Laguna del Diamante, we will visit the natural reserve surrounded by volcanic landscapes and wide range of colors in the heart of the Central Andes at 3200m/10500ft. Landscapes alternate between moon-like terrains and greener tones as we approach the Diamante river. The guanacos are there to greet us and if we are lucky we will see condors spying on us as we near the majestic and famous snowcapped Volcan Maipo (5.323 masl). Picnic will be on either side of the lake; a bottle of Malbec could be opened and shared while admiring the beauty surrounding us… Return to Mendoza using the same road, arrival time around 7 pm.

Step 2.- We will reply shortly to you by e-mail, confirming the availability of places for the option chosen. In this same e-mail, you will be receiving our banking / Paypal account details to formalize your reservation.

Step 3.- Send a money transfer for 50% of the total amount of the option chosen to the account we have previously given you (the rest of the payment must be done 7 days prior to departure).

Step 4.- Once the transfer has been received, we will contact you again in order to confirm your reservation, as well as to send you additional information regarding your preferred destination.

Step 5.- One week before the scheduled beginning of your trip, you will receive a new message with further details about: the hotel reservation made on your behalf, the routes, etc,…

We give notice that services provided in connection with its itineraries, including transportation, hotel accommodations, restaurants, and other services, are purchased from various independent suppliers who are not affiliated with Mendoza Holidays. Although it endeavors to choose the best suppliers available, Mendoza Holidays has no right to control their operations and therefore makes these travel arrangements upon the express condition that Mendoza Holidays, and its own agents and employees, shall not be liable for any delay, mishap, inconvenience, expense, irregularity, bodily injury or death to person, or damage to property occasioned through the conduct or default of any company or individual engaged in providing these services. Each of these passenger conveyance companies, tour companies, hotels, restaurants, etc., is subject to the laws of the state or country where the service is provided.

Mendoza Holidays must normally make substantial payments to its suppliers (hotels, transportation companies, adventure companies, Goverment for Vendimia tickets, etc.) far in advance of the scheduled embarcation date. If a trip is canceled due to acts of God, war, labor strikes, earthquake, flooding, illness, etc., Mendoza Holidays will promptly refund the portion of the trip cost not already advanced to suppliers and use its best efforts to recover and refund the balance as promptly as possible according to our Standard Cancellations fees. However, Mendoza Holidays does not guarantee recovery of any or all of the advance payments made, and our use of best efforts to recover these payments will not include the institution of any legal proceedings in foreign jurisdictions.

Mendoza Holidays shall not be liable for: (a) expenses such as additional hotel nights and meals not specified in the individual trip itineraries that may be required either en route, prior to, or following a trip, when caused by individual clients' travel arrangements, by airline scheduling or airline schedule changes, canceled flights, canceled shows or events, missed flight connections, or by other factors not under Mendoza Holidays control; (b) expenses incurred in recovering luggage lost by airlines, belongings left behind on a trip, or in shipping purchases or other goods home from abroad; (c) bodily injury or property damage for any reason, including but not limited to acts of God, weather, quarantines, strikes, civil disturbance, theft, default, detention, annoyance, changes in government regulations, terrorism, war, or failure of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, etc., over which it ( Mendoza Holidays ) has no control.
