Day 6 Israel 1994
Historical background After three years in Israel, the new olim are already starting to feel like Israelis. After
going through the first period of getting settled, the “new Israelis” find time to travel
around. Israel is a small country. You can drive from north to south in about 8 hours.
From east to west it takes less than 3 hours. Israelis love to travel, and during the
holidays (mainly Succoth and Pesach) tens of thousands of Israelis pack the national
parks, beaches, forests and recreation sites.
Ramat Hagolan, at the far north of Israel, is a place Israelis love because of the beautiful
views, the abundance of waterfalls and streams, festivals all year round, and the
opportunities to pick fresh fruits in the kibbutzim and moshavim.
