4, Precondition:

Installation finished;

BBU and RRU power on;

BBU and RRU connection is ready.

Connetct GTMU and RRU from CPRI0 to CPRI5 one by one. For example : 2 RRU will

connect CPRI0 and CPRI1; 3 RRU will connect CPRI0,CPRI1 and CPRI2;4 RRU will connect

CPRI0,CPRI1,CPRI2,and CPRI3.

5, Upgrade Procedure

5.1 Extract “BTS3900 V100R002C00SPC130 Version(GBTS V100R009C00SPC088).zip” and

“BTS3900 V100R002C00SPC130 Version Documents-EN.zip”

until get the upgrade guide “BTS3000V100R009C00SPC088 Upgrade Guide (SMT-Based).doc” ,

upgrade tool “btsm.exe” and downloading file “gtmudown.pck” and “mrrudown.pck”.

5.2 Configure computer IP with 192.168.0.X excluded 192.168.0.72 because 192.168.0.72 is

GTMU fix commissioning IP.

5.3 Connect computer and ETH port of GTMU. Open btsm.exe and put 192.168.0.72, click ok.

5.4 Get site management right. Select “Get”.

Click board( left tree)--->board management, you can see “GTMU”. If you can not check, click

“refresh”



Right click GTMU, select “Board information”

Check the current software version and save it.



Download GTMU FILE

Click “site0” on left tree, then click “force software load”



File Name: Specify the path and name of the target software package required for the upgrade.

Send Window Size: 200

Version: Type V100R009C00SP88 in the lower box.

File ID: Select GTMU_MAIN from the drop-down list.



Click “start”

When the progress bar displays "100%" in the lower corner and the status bar displays "Loading

Software Successfully", click Close. If fail , please download again.

Download MRRU FILE

Click”Force software download ”again



File Name: Specify the path and name of the target software package required for the upgrade.

Send Window Size: 200


File ID: Select MRRU_MAIN from the drop-down list.

When the progress bar displays 100% and the status bar displays "Loading Software

Successfully", click Close. If fail, please download again.

After 5 minutes, Active MRRU FILE



On the SMT, click Site255 in the navigation tree, and then double-click Software Activation under Function.

In the displayed dialog box, set the associated parameters as follows:

Version: V100R009C00SP88.

In the File ID drop-down list, click MRRU_MAIN.

Click OK. The software activation starts. When the progress bar displays 100% and the status bar displays "Software Activation Confirmed", click Close.

Active GTMU FILE

On the SMT, click Site255 in the navigation tree, and then double-click Software Activation under Function.

In the displayed dialog box, set the associated parameters as follows:


File ID: Select GTMU_MAIN from the drop-down list.

Board No.: You are not required to set this parameter.

Click OK.

The software activation starts.

When the status bar displays "Activation is confirmed and the Site will be reset in a few minutes", click Close.



After 10 minutes ,Select Board-->Board Management, right click GTMU, then click “board

reset”

6,Configuration for MRRU downloading

After GTMU board reset, you can connect computer to GTMU again.

6.1 Get site management right.

6.2 Click Board--->Board Configuration



Double click GTMU, then can config RRU.

Click “Add RRU”



Configure MRRU, for example, the site has 4 MRRU, please configure 4 MRRU one by one:

MRRU0(which connect to CPRI0):

Card Type:MRRU; Card No:0; Chain N0:0; Hop:1; Shelf No:60; Port:0









(Green is meaning the RRU software is same with GTMU.)

6.3 After configure MRRU, open software activation(site0--->software activation),just check,

you can select file ID to MRRU_MAIN.Don’t need to click.

Show the process of downloading MRRU file. When downloading finish, you will see “Board

downloading complete”



Also you can check the light of MRRU,the light of “RUN” will flash per 0.125s.

After downloading, MRRU will reset automatically. You can check the light of MRRU, if

MRRU reset, all lights will power off and power on.

6.4 Check GTMU software version. And confirm the software version is V100R009C00SP88.



6.5 After software verification, reset GTMU.

Importatnt:

1, Must confirm GTMU file and MRRU file already are downloaded in GTMU. If can not make

sure, can do it again.



2, Must be clear the connection from GTMU to each MRRU and tell it to support team.

3, Two option can show MRRU upgrade successfully.

First, open “software activation” and get the picture like below:

Sencond: if you can see MRRU reset after MRRU configuration, the light of MRRU power off

and power on, it is meaning upgrade ok.

4,after finish all the work, Must do the board rest in order to delete all the configuration of

MRRU.
