Channels vs touchpoints
A channel refers to an organizational unit in which a retailer goes to market, sells to and serves customers –
for example, a store division, an e-commerce business
unit or a direct/ catalog division.
In contrast, a touchpoint is a medium through which a retailer interacts with its customers. Examples include
websites, the customer service, store associates and the
point-of-sale (POS)/cash wrap.
