Comprehensible Input:Activity 1: Students learn vocabulary

through activities with flashcardsActivity 2: Categorizing the words

(Examples of vocabulary in Lesson One: Shaolin Fungfu) Answer yes/no, choice, and short response questions

Activity 1: Flashcards with vocabulary items and definitions are distributed randomly


Students read the definition and find out which vocabulary item it matches, and go around the room to find the right word.


Activity 2: Categorizing the vocabularyAsk three students to come to the front of the class and each student will hold a card as follows:

Student 1: 功夫

Student 2: 高强

Student 3: 僧人

Other students still hold their own cards and based on what card they have, join one of the three students, e.g. 打坐 will go to 僧人 , etc.
