Nakheel: WHERE VISION OF DUBAI GETS BUILT
• “Development Management” has proven that innovation and forward thinking are leading the way on how businesses and national economies can be efficiently managed.
• With the same pioneering spirit we have created NAKHEEL, the largest real estates company in the world focusing on off-shore and on-shore Mega Developments, Leisure, Hospitality, International Development Investment, Marine Services, Environment, Energy Efficient end products by following the Green Code (LEED), and Lastly launching the “Blue Community Initiative”.
• As a “Developer” with over 3,000 employees servicing its real estate division only and offerings in over 20 cities, NAKHEEL is bringing together some of Dubai’s most significant companies as well as leading international firms to creating powerful development growth engine for projects reaching up to USD 30 Billion only in Dubai.
• NAKHEEL is committed to advancing Dubai on the world stage as well as ensuring the UAE continues to thrive by partnering with world's fastest economies and taking leaps to establish successful ventures.
Nakheel: Where Vision Inspires Humanity
The focus within NAKHEEL strategic long term plan to achieve ‘Sustainable communities’in Dubai is key to understanding how the ‘Social Dimension’ of investment projects must be considered alongside economic and environmental dimensions within a Triple Bottom Line Approach incorporating the following:
1- The economic dimensions to sustainability2- Social dimensions to sustainability3- Environmental dimensions to sustainability
Measuring ‘social sustainability’ is fraught with difficulty, but ensuring urban renewal projects incorporate the right balance of social capital and appropriate mix of tenures, income and age groups, allied with supporting infrastructure, is vital if the visions of Nakheel’s Cohesion Policy is to be realised.
Nakheel: PUTS DUBAI ON THE MAP
Nakheel: Where Vision Inspires Humanity
NAKHEEL has always been on the path following locally and internationally recognized developmentdesign offering tremendous opportunities for achieving environmentally friendly communities‘, henceachieving pollution prevention and Client satisfaction. This is expedited through integration ofenvironmental requirements into the earliest stages of community development.
Accordingly, it can provide significant sustainable benefits including enhanced “Asset Management”through efficiency, reduced liabilities, and enhanced competitiveness, this can only be achieved if thefollowing is followed, such as;
• Renewable Energy: A ’myth-busting review of options for providing clean energy to community buildings
• Green Specification: Outlines the principles that applies when specifying materials in design for construction
• Operational Management : Improve sustainability detailed techniques for meeting current and future waste minimizing during thedevelopment and refurbishment processes
• Costs Analysis: An overview of the cost implications of designing and building sustainably
• Sustainability and Property Worth 1: Investigates the benchmarking options, operational and value based method
• Sustainability and Property Worth 2: Provides an investigation into the existing valuation process and how sustainability • will affect this
• Social Sustainability: Assessing urban renewal communities by optimizing balance between commercial and residential development
• Social Financial Sustainability: Ensuring accessible financial support to sustain social levels for habitating and allowinglong/short investment purposes

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was expedited for all NAKHEEL off-shore projects due to NAKHEEL’s requirement to carry out a number of environmental baseline studies to establish baseline conditions at the site. These baseline studies include: • Assessment of water quality (in situ physiochemical monitoring and sample analysis)• Sediment quality (sample analysis)• Benthic ecology (video transects) • Ambient noise monitoring• Water quality investigation• Sediment Quality investigations
