Under the gracious auspices of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, Honorary President of the Bahrain Inter-national Garden Club, Her Royal Highness Princess Sa-beeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King, opened the 2010 Bahrain International Garden Show. Un-der the theme of “Seeds for our future”, the event was held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre from 26th to 28th February 2010. Banagas was proud to have been a sponsor of this show.Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka, the Honorary Chairwoman of the Bahrain International Show Organiz-ing Committee, called for additional investment in agri-culture and promotion of the country’s natural resources and encouraged amateur gardeners to innovate. Princess Sabeeka hoped that the Bahrain International Garden Show would become an internationally recognized event that would attract participants from all over the world. She called for more cooperation with agricultural experts through protocols of cooperation.Her Highness highlighted the roles of the sponsors, which she said, sent a clear message of support for the creation of a healthy and green environment where “desert areas are cultivated and arid regions encouraged to flourish. Her Highness called for joint efforts to make this event an even greater success that would allow agriculture to regain its cultural and economic prominence.The Organizing Committee expressed their gratitude to Her Highness for her continued support. They praised the role of Her Highness show since it was first initiated threeyears ago. Head Personnel, Abdul Karim Yahya Hilal, was selected for an International Award for Distinguished Human Resources Specialists. The selection is based on criteria taken into account by professional academics and specialists in human resources who short list a number of nominees. The names are sent to a jury of arbitrators for final selection for this award at the International Conference of Human Resources, which was held in Mum-bai, India, from 11 to 13 February 2010. The conference included many events such as lectures, workshops and interviews with leading thinkers and lecturers involved in human resources. The guest of honour for the conference was the Prime Minister of the Government of Bhutan.The selection of Abdul Karim for this award is a credit to the Kingdom of Bahrain in general and to the Bahrain National Gas Company in particular.

General Manager: Key Speaker At Nitrogen And Syngas ConferenceDr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa was one of the key speakers at the Nitrogen & Syngas International conference, which was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, the Minister of Oil & Gas Affairs and Chairman of the National Oil & Gas Authority. Organized by the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) and UK’s British Sulphur, the conference was held from 28 February through 3 March 2010. More than 300 senior officials fromgas and fertilizer companies participated in the conference.

In his speech, Dr. Mohammed focused on the global natural gas outlook.

The selection of the Kingdom of Bahrain to host this important conference for the second time in the history of the event shows the international recognition of the role being played by the Kingdom and its effective and efficient capability of hosting such majorgatherings. It also reflects the growing rolewhich the oil and petroleum companies within the portfolio of the National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) play in promoting national industries which have gained an excellent reputation in the various regional and international conferences in which they have participated.
