Desde hace años los carros vienen incorporando mucha tecnología para su funcionamiento. Son fabricados con complejos sistemas interconectados. La computadora abordo (OBD) monitorea continuamente el rendimiento de los sistemas de un vehículo. Cuando un sensor envía señales fuera de rango, se trata de una falla que puede llegar a encender una luz en el tablero y grabar un código de falla en la memoria. Estos códigos deben ser recuperados e interpretados por un escaner profesional de diagnóstico. Si decide ignorar las luces de advertencia del tablero porque el carro aparentemente está funcionando bien, hay riesgo severo de daño del motor u otros componentes. Si se enciende la luz CHECK ENGINE, el carro está emitiendo gases contaminantes muy por encima de lo permitido debido a problemas en el sistema del motor. Escanear un vehículo en motor apagado permite: Recuperar y eliminar los códigos de falla genéricos y específicos confirmados durante su recorrido. Obtener los valores de los sensores del instante de la falla. Obtener los resultados de las pruebas de los sensores de oxígeno. Verificar y reiniciar el estado de los monitores de sistemas relacionados con la emisión de gases. Escanear un vehículo en motor apagado no revela las fallas o incoherencias que sus sistemas podrían tener durante la marcha. El diagnóstico en motor funcionando, permite: Obtener y registrar las lecturas en vivo de los sensores del vehículo durante la marcha y en el momento de una falla. Comparar las lecturas simultáneas de distintos sensores para identificar las fallas e incoherencias entre sí. Determinar el consumo y la economía del combustible. Determinar los caballos de fuerza (potencia) y el torque del vehículo (momento). Diagnóstico OBD2 Estándar y Sistemas Específicos (motor apagado) Recuperación y eliminación de códigos de falla actuales, pendientes y permanentes. Estado de los monitores continuos y no continuos. Desde hace años los carros vienen incorporando mucha tecnología para su funcionamiento. Son fabricados con complejos sistemasinterconectados. La computadora abordo (OBD) monitorea continuamente el rendimiento de los sistemas de un vehículo. Cuando un sensorenvía señales fuera de rango, se trata de una falla que puede llegar a encender una luz en el tablero y grabar un código de falla en lamemoria. Estos códigos deben ser recuperados e interpretados por un escaner profesional de diagnóstico. Si decide ignorar las luces deadvertencia del tablero porque el carro aparentemente está funcionando bien, hay riesgo severo de daño del motor u otros componentes. Si seenciende la luz CHECK ENGINE, el carro está emitiendo gases contaminantes muy por encima de lo permitido debido a problemas en elsistema del motor.

Escanear un vehículo en motor apagado permite:

Caso de Estudio

El automóvil Mercedes de un propietario del interior del país se paraba cada vez que el carro picaba o hacía fuerza. En talleres de prestigioescanearon el carro en motor apagado pero no encontraron ningún código de falla. Dijeron que se trataba de un problema de alineado ybalanceado de llantas, etc. Y ya no recibieron al carro "por falta de tiempo". Entonces, el propietario optó por las pruebas en vivo para dar conel problema del carro. Mientras él conducía por una exigente avenida de La Paz, un ingeniero iba de copiloto con un escáner profesionalconectado al enchufe OBD2 del mercedes. Luego de monitorear en vivo otros sensores, se encontró que, el flujometro enviaba lecturasincoherentes cuando el carro se detenía por sí solo. Se desconectó el flujometro y la computadora del mercedes entró en modo seguro.Aunque el carro sin flujometro consumía más gasolina, ya no se detenía. Finalmente, se remplazó dicho repuesto y el mercedes ahora estáfuncionando bien.
