UCC Win Sigerson Cup! Congratulations to UCC, who won their twenty-first Sigerson Cup title in
dramatic fashion last Saturday night at Queen’s University, Belfast.
Having dominated for most of the game, UCC came under heavy pressure
from Jordanstown in the last quarter, and it took Conor Dorman’s late
point to clinch the title for the Cork side, 0-10 to 0-9. Well done to all
involved, especially Billy Morgan, who was first involved in this
competition as a player all of fifty years ago.
The UCC team was as follows: Brian Kelly (Kerry); David Culhane
(Kerry), Eoin O’Mahony (Cork), Fergal McNamara (Kerry); Tom Clancy
(Cork), Conor Dorman (Cork), Brian Shanahan (Cork); David Nation
(Cork), Ian Maguire (Cork); Luke Connolly (Cork), Sean Keane (Kerry),
Brian O’Driscoll (Cork); Conor Cox (Kerry), Michael Quinlivan (Tipperary),
Paul Geaney (Kerry). Subs: Seán Kiely (Cork), Eoin Healy (Cork).

UCC and CIT Reach Fitzgibbon Cup Weekend Both CIT and UCC make the trip to Queen's University, Belfast, this
weekend, where they meet in the Fitzgibbon Cup Semi-Final.
Defending champions UCC, who defeated CIT in the 2012 Final, are
bidding for three-in-a-row, and also for a 2014 double, having won the
Sigerson Cup last weekend.
Whatever happens on Friday, when they meet at 4.30pm, there will be at
least one Cork college in the Final!
LIT play WIT in the other semi-final at 2.30pm, with the final scheduled
for 4.15pm on Saturday, March 1st (live on TG4).
Best of luck to all players and to both management teams, and well done
on an outstanding campaign to date.

New Uachtaráin-Tofa Elected at Congress There was a momentous evening at Croke Park on Friday, when Aogán Ó
Fearghail was elected to the role of Uachtaráin-Tofa Chumann Lúthchleas
Gael, becoming the first man from Cavan to ever be elected to the
position.
Congress continued on the Saturday with consideration of the motions,
along with the President’s address. Of the 64 motions down for discussion
on Saturday, 49 were passed, two were approved by Central Council prior
to Saturday, 9 were rejected and four were withdrawn from the clár,
including the so-called ‘Anthony Nash’ motion.
The Cork delegation consisted of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary,
Treasurer, PRO, Senior Administrator, representatives of the Seandún
(Niall Keane) and Carrigdhoun (Myles Barry) divisions, and Willie Ring and
PatJoe Connolly representing the County Board, along with Central
Council delegate, Des Cullinane. While Motion 46, preventing players
eligible for the U16 grade from playing inter-county Minor, was passed, its
introduction has since been deferred until January 2015. Most other
motions come into effect one month from Congress.
