Jährlich werden rund 500.000 Blutkonserven für Kranke und Verletzte österreichweit benötigt.
Aber nur 3,8 % der Österreicher spenden regelmäßig Blut.
Die Anzahl der Spender nimmt seit Jahren kontinuierlich ab:
- Seit 2004 ist die Zahl der Spender in W/NÖ/Bgld. um 6 % gesunken (minus 7.500 Blutspender).
- Seit 2000 ist die Zahl der Erstspender in W/NÖ/Bgld. um 35 % gesunken (minus 6.500 Erstspender).
