2016 600To support the Chinese language education worldwide, the Confucius Institute Headquarters
(Hanban) sponsors and authorizes Chinese Testing International Co., Ltd. to conduct Chinese
tests, including HSK, HSKK, BCT(Business Chinese Test), YCT (Youth Chinese Test) and HSKE.
The total number of test takers taking part in the above mentioned Chinese tests reached
6,000,000 in 2016.
Introduction to Chinese Test
HSK
HSK is an international standardized Chinese language test to
measure the ability of non-native Chinese speakers to communicate
in Chinese in daily lives, academic and working settings. It has six
levels.
HSKK
HSKK is HSK Speaking Test. It can be divided into three levels, namely,
HSKK (Basic), HSKK (Intermediate) and HSKK (Advanced).

increases at 37% per year. In 2016, there are altogether 464,000
people from all over the world sit the tests mentioned above.

Summer Camp to experience Chinese culture and learn the language for a short period in

Priority conditions for the Confucius China Studies Program

Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship
Support doctoral students (candidates) registered with foreign universities to come to China
for study, research and the writing of their doctoral dissertations. Students who successfully
complete the program may receive Ph.D. degrees either from the foreign universities they
registered or from both the Chinese and the foreign universities. HSK test scores over 180
points at level 3 is required, and priority is given to applicants with higher level of proficiency
in Chinese under same conditions.

Ph.D. in China FellowshipSupport foreign students to pursue full-time Ph.D. degrees in Chinese universities. HSK test
scores over 180 points at level 5 is required, and priority is given to applicants with higher
level of proficiency in Chinese under same conditions.
